The racial characteristics are taken from Dungeons and Dragons, Player's Handbook.

Human - Humans are the most adaptable, flexable and ambitious people aming the common races. They are diverse in their tastes, morals, customs, and habits. Others acuse them of having little respect for history, but it's only natural that humans, with their relatively short life spans and constantly changing cultures, would have a collectively shorter memory than dwarves, elves, gnomes or halflings.

Elf - Elves are more often amused than excited, more likely to be curious than greedy. With such long lives, they tend to keep a broad perspective on events, remaining aloof and infazed by petty happenstance. When persuing a goal however, whether an adventurous mission, learning a new skill or art, they can be focused and relentless. They are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. They reply to petty insults with disdain, and serious insults with vengeance.

Half-Elf - Most half-elves have the curiosity, inventiveness, and ambition of human parents, along with the refined senses, love of nature, and artistic tastes of the elven parents.

Dwarf - Dwarves are slow to laugh or jest and suspicious of strangers, but they are generous to thise few that earn their trust. Dwarves value gold, gems, jewelry and art made from these precous materials, and they have been known to succomb to greed. They fight neither reclessly, nor timidly, but with a careful courage and tenacity. Their sense of justice is strong, but at it's worst it can turn into a thirst for vengeance. Among gnomes, who get along famously with dwarves, there is a mild oath, "If I'm lying, may I cross a dwarf."

Gnome - Gnomes adore animals, beautiful gems and jokes of all kinds. Gnomes have a great sense of humor, and while they love puns, jokes and games, they relish tricks - the more intricate the better. Fortunately, they apply the same dedication to practical arts, such as enineering, as they do their pranks.
Gnomes are inquisitive. They love to find things out by personal experiences. At times they are even reckless. Their curiosity makes them skilled engineers, since they are always trying new was to build things. Sometimes a gnome will pull a prank just to see how the people involved will act.

Halfling - Halfing prefere trouble to boredom. They are notoriously curious. Relying on their ability to survive or escape danger, they demonstrate a daring that many larger people cannot match.
Halflings have ample appeitites, both for food and for other pleasures. They like well-cooked meals, fine drink, good tobacco, and comfortable clothes. While they can be lured by the promise of wealth, they tend to spend gold rather than hoard it.

these characteristics were made up by Amythist, and can therefore be changed if PM'd and asked to.

Angel and Demon - These creatures can only attend the school when fallen in an angels case, and risen in a demons case, and are therefore usually extremely cautious. Angels are wanderers and shy until they know all about their surroundings. They're very intellegent, and like to show off. They like excitement when they're not depressed.

Faery, Fae, Pixie - Magical critters, usually very playful. These people are usually long lasting, and have extreme knowledge of several arts and crafts. They're characterized by a set of flittery wings, and usually pale skin. Pointed ears help them listen in to things that aren't their business. They're also extremely curious and not very hard working.
