I know I have never really gotten into this, but I think it already is/will be a problem.

Spam, as you all know, are posts that add no meaning to the discussion. An easy way to remember it is:

S - Stupid
P - Pointless
A - Annoying
M - Messages

I will use some examples of spam posts from right here in the forum here. Please remember that I'm not bashing you if you see one of your posts here, I'm just trying to improve quality of posts.

That's just a few. I want to make it a point that most of us here do make quality posts. I too am trying to improve my post quality.

The only places where spam is allowed is in the Shoutbox and Sports Den.

So please, remember, it's not quantity, it's quality.

Thank you.

No - only because you're asking a question. If you have nothing to add to the discussion, just don't post it.

While I appreciate the desire to limit meaningless posting; I must admit that with the size of our forum (at present) -- I think other things might need more direct attention. cool.gif

True, but I just wanted to make it known that as we get bigger and bigger, spam posts will increase. I know that we have such loyal members that that won't happen cool.gif

"Yeah, you're right Nick."

It is annoying when you go to a recent post and all it says is
"Yeah, you're right Nick."

If you're posting a reply to the topic then please contribute something new or debate a point or share a relevant photo, etc. Don't just copy what someone else has written and then say you agree with it.

I agree with this. And it's a good policy.

Now, I have to get some sleep. I'm having a meeting in the morning with the big wigs.

I know exactly the problem your talking about.

I'm in the college art class at my high school, sometimes, when you want some advice you want a clear cut yes or no on a peice. But a lot of time you want to add a "and why is this one a better choice" and you dont want to hear a "because", "i dont know" "i like it better" you need to elaborate and go way in depth on why that is better choice.

I think that is pretty much the same thing as the "mindless post" aka "spam" going on.
