Ktala is nudged. She looks up annoyed. A few words are whispered into her ears... FINALLY! She stands up and stretches, removing her cloak from her shoulders. It was finally decided that the trials would start. She quickly limbered up, placing her two sabers on her hips. She had always prefered the two handed method. She is pointed towards a room. So, this is where it will all begin. With a nod, she turns and heads for the room, to find out who she would be paired against. As she entered the room, at first, no one was visible. She walked over towards one wall, and began to read the charts. prj1 v. Ktala Thrawn1786 v. Rilwen_Shadowflame greyjedi125 .. had no name next to his. He would probably fight whoever survived the other rounds. Interesting. So, while she waited for prj1 to appear, she moved about the arena, getting a feel for the room. She then moved back into a neutral corner and waited her competition, as she silently meditated, going over the battle in her mind. One saber sat on her lap while she waited. The other was close at hand. She meditated on what was to come, as she waited... TAG: prj1 Sorry if there Are any spelling mistakes. I cant READ this stuff too well. |

IC: Manticore (greyjedi125)
Manticore's fiery eyes were alight with the anticipation of battle. He had no opponent, at least not yet, but his mind was ever ready to do battle at a moment's notice. The blood red zabrak took a few steps back until he was completely enshrouded within a shadowy corner. He wanted to view the upcoming bouts without being disturbed or disturbing others. It seemed that only Ktala was here, beside himself. Manticore gave a brief smirk at this. That one was never late when it came to combat. With a breath, Manticore opened himself to the force and attuned himself to it's flow within the battle chamber. Few had responded to the call, but he was not surprised. Too many beings fooled themselves into thinking that they fancied the power of the darkside until they realized the sacrifice that was required of them. It was a natural culling process as far as he was concerened. This tournament was a fine testing ground for those who were able to see it for what it really was. Manticore was confident that the few who unerstood the nuances of the darkside would do well. Perhaps others would glean something as well. In the end, it was of little consequence to him. This test was personal. A step in his journey, and the first part of the lesson was patience. So he would be patient, but not idle. There was always much to learn in these situations. Silently and hidden, Manticore waited for the other conbatants to arrive, such as Rilwen, prj1 and Thrawn. It was a pity that so few chose to compete. Perhaps when news of the tournament spread after it begun, others would seek to enter...if Master Draconis would allow such a thing. Either way, it was time to prepare for Mortal Kombat! IC: Prj1
Prj1 entered the arena. It had been quite some time since she had dueled anyone. She was ready for action. Looking over the list of the tournament matches, prj1 was disappointed at so few participants, but no matter about that. It was time to concentrate on her own challenge. Ktala was her opponent. Prj1 saw Ktala meditating. Unclipping her lightsaber from her belt, and holding it perfectly, prj1 assumed a Ready Stance as she ignited her orange blade. "Ktala, greetings. I am here." Prj1 awaited Ktala's first move. TAG: Ktala |

Ktala As Ktala sat in meditation, she felt the presence of another enter the room. She allowed a slightl smile to briefly grace her lips, as she opened her eyes. It was her opponent It was a strange name her opponet had, but Ktala simply watched as the girl walked into the room. Prj1 unclipped her lightsaber from her belt, and holding it perfectly, prj1 assumed a Ready Stance as she ignited her orange blade. "Ktala, greetings. I am here." Ktala nodded. "Then, let us begin." Using the Force to help propel herself, Katla suddenly leaned forward, and leaped high into the air. As she did, she twisted her body, keeping herself facing Prj1, as she switched on her lightsaber. Ktala landed gracefull a few steps from Prj1. "Let the lesson begin." she stated, as she moved in, with a middle slashing manuever to the stomach. Her other blade she held back, ununsed for the moment.. Best to see what this girl had first. TAG:Prj1 |

Prj1 observed her opponent as she approached her, impressed by the show that Ktala displayed by using the Force. "Interesting," she thought, but not allowing her thoughts to distract her. Prj1 saw Ktala execute a slash at her stomach, and effortlessly parried the attack by bringing her blade down diagnally in an elegant motion. Then, stepping to the right, prj1 swiftly swung her blade upward, slashing at Ktala's left shoulder. "Let's see how she answers that," thought prj1 with a grin on her face. TAG: Ktala OOC if that attack is a goddmod, please let me know. I am always glad to rewrite. |

Ktala
Ktala started out her attack simple, to see what Prj1 could do. Ktala execute a slash at her stomach, and effortlessly parried the attack by bringing her blade down diagnally in an elegant motion. Then, stepping to the right, prj1 swiftly swung her blade upward, slashing at Ktala's left shoulder. "Let's see how she answers that," thought prj1 with a grin on her face. Ktala simply resonded with a pivot of her own, movving to the right, effortlessly moving her shoulder from attack. Seeing that prj1 was indeed up on her basics, she came in to attack once more, this time, her blade moving in a deadly figure 8 design. Using the Darkside this time, she moved herself quickly, her feet moving in a rapid succession of steps, making it hard to guage what direction she might strike from next. THe battle had truly begun. OOC Your post was FINE!!!. Believe me! |

Manticore
From within a shadowy corner, the blood red zabrak watched with interest, arms folded and mind alert. He already knew how Ktala fought and was now interested in gauging the younger sith's skills. prj1 seemed to have her basics down and that was a good start. Manticore wondered how she would fare once the battle became more heated. From the manner in which their encounter progressed, it seemed he would find out sooner than anticipated, given Ktala's renewed and more complex attack. Patiently, Manticore waited. His name was last on the list and the second pair of combatants had not arrived. Briefly he wondered if those who were absent simply lacked the inner essence of a true sith. Time would tell. |

The redhaired Sith Assassin strolled in, looking around. She'd been waiting outside- no sign of her opponent. No matter. It was easier to wait in here. Finding a seat against the wall, she draped her cloak over it, beginning to stretch, to ensure she'd be warmed up and flexible if her opponent did decide to turn up. Tag: Thrawn |

As Ktala executed her next attack, her opponent backed away, and gave a singal with her hands.
Ktala frowned, and quickly disengaged her sabers. Her oponent was leaving the match. Ktala saluted her, and with a nod, turned and left the chambers. A new person would take the next patch, as Ktala saw the name on the list. She smiled, as she left the room. |

NIM Nim strolled into the chambers, after another female had entered. She had not been long within this strange place, but already she had been called forth for combat. She had seen the name on the list, and noddedly silently as she had taken a seat on the floor. She was a Defel, and as such, she bllended in to her surroundings with ease. Unless one sought other means to seek her presence, she was simply, not there. She wore little clothing for this match, but there was no need. She was a bit over 6' tall, and was covered in fur. She would not need much for this match. And she had two weapons with her. A saber, she kept hidden for now, and a great sword. A very special sword. It too lay hidden, until she drew it from its sheath. But for now, she simply oply to wait for yer oponent to show. Both ears swilved forward in anticipation. |

Manticore
Sith Tournament In much less time that anticipated, the match was over. Without explenation, the younger of the two combatants simply...retreated. Manticore could not fathom the reason, and it the end, it mattered to those to whom it mattered. The signal was given and Manticore acknowledge that his turn was next, although no opponent was designated to him as it were, nor any name given. Be that as it may, the blood red zabrak dropped his robes upon the stone floor and proceeded out of the shadows with the stride of a great hunting cat. His weapon, a saberstaff, remained unlit. Reaching just inside the combat circle, Manticore saw no one. He twirled his saberstaff once as his eyes narrowed, scanning the area. He also scanned with the Force. The darkside energies inside him already stirred and enveloped him like a black shadow, the power of the darkside flowed through him like a powerful current. Alert, Manticore waited patiently. Certainly he was not called out here just to stand, but to do combat, and so, he waited, listened and used the force to sense for his opponet, so they may stand revealed. Tag: opponent (Ktala) |

Nim Nim looked up when she noticed movement. As red Zabrak had just walked inside the combat circle, She watched him twirl his saber, looing around. as his eyes narrowed, scanning the area. Her goggles down over her eyes hid the deep red fire than burned behind them. She held back teh urge to smile. Silently, Nim stood, and then walked towards the combat area. As she reached the edge, she spoke. "I am your opponent Zabrak. Stand ready1" Nim moved swiftly now, changing her position as she decided what weapon to use for this battle. For now, she opted for her lightsaber. She called it to hand, but did not turn it on just yet, as she looked for an opening. With a flick, her lightsaber came to life, as she came in, delevering a powerful blow from above. Nothing fancy, for it was just the opening volley. She wanted to see how this Zabrak responded. Manticore
Sith Tournament Manticore's eyes beheld his opponent. It was a tall being, taller than him in fact, and of a species he was not very familiar with. He was also uncertain as to gender due to that fact. "I am your opponent Zabrak. Stand ready." His opponent spoke in perfect basic. Not really a surprise. Manticore simply gave a curt nod in response, then relaxed his posture. He bent his knees slightly and twirled his saberstaff once. His eyes remined focused on his opponent. The darkside coursed through and around him. The blood red zabrak timed his actions to a fault. He ignited one end of his saberstaff just as his opponent lit his. He watched his opponet come at him, delivering powerful blow from above. Manticore took note of his opponents good form and sure footing. The lightsaber was held in good balance and was steady. Hmm. This being had potential. Manticore smoothly pivoted to one side and away from the vertical attack and responded with a basic cross slash to the torso as his counter. If his opponent was too slow in reacting, then perhaps a saber burn would elicit what alacrity was needed for their encounter. Tag: Nim |

Nim Nim was quick to note that this Zabrack was quick minded. Not withstanding the fact that she was a difficult target, as little to nothing of her showed, but a moving shadow, this Zabrack seemed to keep pace with her. Indeed, he was very skilled within the Dark Side. He ignited one end of his saberstaff just as Nim had let hers.. The Zabrack smoothly pivoted to one side and away from the vertical attack and responded with a basic cross slash to the torso as his counter. Nim let out a soft woof as she twisted around, barely missing a singe. She hated the smell of burnt fur. As she landed, she rolled softly, switching off her saber once more. Maybe the Zabrack was more like she was. A tracer. He was most certainly a hunter as well. Nim leaped once more, but instead of coming in high, she brought her saber up in a lunging attack to his mid section, as she moved to keep him busy. She followed her first attack with a vicious kick to the knee, as she kept herself always moving while she formulate her next attack. Tag: Manticore |

Manticore
Sith Tournament The cross slash was completely avoided by his opponent, which came as a mild surprise. Manticore was expecting to singe his opponent, or a semi-panicked block or parry, something for him to work from and harry his opponent further, but not a miss. Hmm... very interesting. Things got even more interesting when his opponent switched off his lightsaber. The blood red zabrak gave a mild snort. So, his opponent was not only quick, but smart as well. Making himself a harder target, since his ignited lightsaber gave away his position and relative measurement. But if his opponet thought that Manticore was only relying on his 'eyes' to track his barely visible quarry, he was sadly mistaken. Not only was manticore adept at 'blind fighting', his training had trascended 'blind tracking' as well. The rigorous 'force sense' training he underwent eventually paid off, seeing how they helped hone his Force sensing skills to their present accuity. To compound things, his other 'Five' senses, which were also enhanced by the darkside of the force, processed information beyond normal capability. He could hear and see several times better and farther and clearer than any skilled hunter. Hence, the expected defeciency in targeting his opponent was completely off the mark. Even so, Manticore too had tricks up his sleeves. But he was saving those for when they were needed, which was not at the very moment. A prickling sensation warned the blood red zabrak of an imminent attack as his danger sense was triggered. Manticore perceived the 'shadow' who was his opponent come at him, but did not 'read' the attack immediately, as his opponent lit his lightsaber at the last possible moment. But Manticore was not waiting for the telltale sign of a lit lightsaber. By switching his weapon off in the first place, the opponent had betrayed that tactic to him. Understanding the basic nature of the a 'rush' attack, the blood red zabrak jumped and flipped over his opponet as he was rushed. His lightsaber blade lashed out as he rotated overhead, with the distinct intention of singing some part of his 'invisible adversary'. Manticore was hoping to tag a shoulder or an arm, but he'd have to see once he landed. The blood red zabrak did not land on his feet, but instead, expertly tucked and side-rolled, then came up with a defensive spiraling slash. Though fighting a barely visible shadow could be vexing, Manticore welcomed the challenge. His opponet enjoyed a particular 'cloaking' advantage, but he'd find that the blood red zabrak was not only a skilled opponent, but one that could find ways of turning handicaps into advantages, though that yet remained to be seen. Kat'a rushed to the dueling arena, cursing herself the whole way. Several delays had kept her from being here first, and Kat'a had always hated being late, off-time... No matter. She was here. She spotted her opponent, flexing and stretching in anticipation. Kat'a briefly considered ambushing the young woman, but decided, since this was a tournament, such would not be fair. "Rilwen Shadowflame?" she greeted her with a courtly nod. Kat'a had never fought her before, but had heard tales of the woman's prowess with a lightsaber, and as such thought she was owed some respect. Once the contest begins, it is a different matter altogether... Tag: Rilwen |

Nim Nim quickly saw that his Zabrak was not to be taken lightly. Wonderful. He was also quick, fighting with an ancient weapon type. Something that she herself liked, Perhpas she would have to draw her new weapon. She had not really used it in battle yet, but it would give her a chance to hone her battle skills. She heard the Zabrak give a snort. As Nim game at her opponent with a mid level lunge, he jumped and flipped over her. This one was quick! His lightsaber blade lashed out as he rotated overhead. Nim definatelly felt his saber come far too close to her liking. But she was moving throught her attack as well, since her kick had missed, and so saber clashed with a veracious intensity as she hit the ground, rooling to save her head from being removed from its shoulders. A tuft of hair from her head did was not so lucky however, and her nose let her know just how close he had come. Hmmmm. She saw him tucked and side-rolled, then came up with a defensive spiraling slash.Nim stepped back, with deep chuckle, that ended in a snort.. "Very nice. This time, you face my true weapon." Nim discarded her plain lightsaber and drew her newest weapon that she had made with the Red Sith. With a flurish she twriled it and then lit its blade. The weapon was built like a long staff, but it was diffrent. The lightsaber blade from it did not simply come out straight..but ..it hooked! The sudden image of looking like the sythe from the grim reaper, or death reaper, suddenly springs to mind, for indeed that was the shape of the weapon. The lightsaber 'blade of the weapon shone a deep red. This weapon felt much more firmer, and more controllable in Nims hands. Nim slowly pulled down her goggles, letting her firery red eyes blaze out at her opponet as she stepped back once more, and began to twirl her weapon, picking up speed. She gave a grin, showing long fangs. "Let us trade blows again, Zabrak" Nim came in once again, this time she left the blade on, as her spinning blurred the area in front of her. She circled her oponent, looking for an opening, but he was not giving one. She would have to make her own it seems. But now she had a handle, which afforded her a bit more reach as well. Nim suddenly came towards him, her blade whirling in a wicked figure 8 pattern. The suddenly she let the handle slide out in her hand, extended the blade outwards, as she performed a slice to the midsection.. Her eyes squinted, as she looked to see what moves this one would perform next. Tag: Manticore OOC: I hope I explained that clear enough. |

Manticore
Sith Tournament Manticore rose slowly as he found that his defensive spiraling slash found no target. His enhanced senses directed him in the general direction of the shadow, which spoke from several meters away. "Very nice. This time, you face my true weapon." Manticore's eyes narrowed. He had no need of compliments, but was intrigued by what his opponent said. The implication was that there would be a change of weapon, for the traditional lightsaber seemed not to be the shadow's weapon of choice. Manticrore twirled his saberstaff in anticipation. What he saw next made his eyes bulge in surprise despite himself. The shadow produced a staff -like weapon, something more like a polearm than any lightsaber he'd ever seen. But what was the most astounding part of the weapon was not the length of the staff, though that was significant, but it's glowing red blade. It was in the shape of a scythe. Manticore was thoroghly impressed by the design of the weapon, at least by what he could see of it. He was very intrigued in knowing how the designer managed the curved blade. Such crafting techniques were believed lost with many irreplaceable Ancient Sith secrets. Undoubtedly, the Saber-Scythe was a wonderous achievement in weapon crafting. But Manticore's admiration came to an end quite abruptly as the 'shadow' deftly twirled the weapon in hand as he let his fiery red eyes blaze out. Manticore twirled his own weapon in response, already adding the dimensions of the new weapon to his combat tactic repertoire. In a demonstration of skill, his opponent stepped back as the weapon twirled faster and faster as it picked up speed. The shadow seemed to be enjoying the moment as fangs were displayed. Manticore's face took on a feral look as well. "Let us trade blows again, zabrak." Manticore simply nodded as a grin came to his face. He was already thinking of his own surprises. Then with a rush, his opponent came at him, spinning the Saber-Scythe in a figure eight pattern. Manticore moved in a circular motion as he kept himself away from any vertical strikes, in essence narrowing his opponents options of attack. Then Manticore saw what he was waiting for, a horizontal strike. His opponet had done exactly what he had hoped, for he had deviced a perfect counter in his mind. A lifting parry would leave his opponent's flank completely open and defenseless to a counter strike, given the design of the weapon. The blood red zabrak held his weapon with two hands and timed the parry just right, but at the very last possible moment, the impossible occurred! Manticore's danger sense blared inside of him as the Saber scythe range changed in mid strike. He was now inside it's attack zone. Only his heightened reflexes and his danger sense saved him from being bisected. Manticore's hand shot-out faster than sith lightning as he suddenly grabbed his opponent's weapon right under the blade head'. A howl of pain escaped his lips as searing pain shot through him. The front hooking tip of the weapon had found his back. The incandescent blade sliced clean through his garment and was sizzling his skin. Manticore roared as his anger exploded. Power and incredible strength shot through his every limp and body as he held the blocking pose. His left hand gripped the saber-scythe in a vise grip as he rooted his stance. His teeth gritted togeher and his eyes did seem like bonfires. The pain had almost instantly sent the blood red zabrak into a berserker rage, but thankfully, his resistance to pain had only brought him to the very edge of the bloody red haze. As he held his enemy's weapon in a mighty grip in order to keep it immobile, Manticore shouted with tremendous fury and brought his lightsaber on the staff itself. His strike was fueled by the darkside, as he sought to slice clean through the innovative weapon and destroy it by removing the blade at the neck, from the rest of pole-like end. Tag: NIM |

"Rilwen Shadowflame?" "That would be me." Rilwen looked up, concluding her stretches. She stepped out into the arena's open space. Nim
Nim was not sure what to expect from this strange Zabrak, but she was suprised by what happened next. She saw the grin on his face, as the red Zabrak and she faced off once more, this time with her Saber-sythe. As she came at him in a figure eight pattern. Manticore moved in a circular motion as he kept himself away from any vertical strikes. Nim just kept up with him, as she waited, biding her time for an opportunity. As she shot the weapon forward, and moved in for a slice to the midsection, The Zabrak became a blur as he moved. But he had come too close, and Nim had caught him within the hook of her weapon. He narrowly missed being bisected, as his hand shot-out grabbing her weapon right under the blade head'. A howl escaped his lips, and Nim's nose could pick up the stench of burnt flesh. The howl changed to a roar, as he held on to her sythe. His left hand gripped the saber-scythe in a vise grip as he rooted his stance. His teeth gritted togeher, and then he shouted with tremendous fury and brought his lightsaber on the staff itself. Nim roared, in a deep voice, as she used her Force enhanced strength as size, as she suddenly twisted the polearm in her hands, moving the sythe end, as she angled the pole slightly. Her weapon had many tricks, as the Zabrack was about to find out. The weapon was forged by Sith Alchemy, and like the sword she also carried, could stand up to a hit from a lightsaber. A sudden thought came to mind, and with Force enhanced swiftness, she yanked the pole in, bringing the hook, and the Zabrak closer to her, as she brought up her foot to deliver a kick to the midsection. A quick twist, would release him from her sythe's grip, and she could step back for another attack. Tag: Manticore |

Manticore
Sith Tournament The Blood Red Zabrak struck down a mighty blow against his opponent's weapon, fully intent on slicing the pole from the 'blade head', but what happened next totally caught him by surprise. There was a shower of sparks as expected, but Manticore's lightsaber blade did not follow through with the intended motion. There was a rapidly fading incandescent mark where his lightsaber had made contact with the 'neck' of the weapon, other than that, it remained pretty much unharmed. But, of course it did. Otherwise it would have been too easy...and no challenge at all, Manticore would have mused bitterly, but instead, he felt his fury double. Manticore heard his opponent roar in a deep voice and felt the darkside surging powerfully from the shadow. His danger sense flared once again, as he noticed that despite his one handed vice like grip, his opponent managed to twist his weapon, angling it. But Manticore employed the 'formless technique' he'd learned from his Teras Kasi Master and was already back-flipping over the twisting weapon. The Saber Sycthe inflicted no more damage to the zabrak as he landed in a crouch; and not a moment too soon as he saw his opponent yank the humming blade towards himself, but only slicing air. A move that would have been damaging to him, to put it mildly. Despite his resistance to pain, every motion brought a wave of burning furor to the zabrak, but this was not a detractor, but a motivator. Still teetering at the edge of a bloody berserker fury, Manticore ignited the second end of his Saberstaff, releasing it's vermillion blade. The battle was just getting started as he tracked the movements of his enemy's weapon. In a swift motion, Manticore separated the two ends of his weapon, which meant he now held two lightsabers. The dual lightsabers twirled furiously in his hands, and without wasting a moment, Manticore launched himself at his opponent. Both weapons carved a deadly arc of red light as he twirled them in the known figure eight pattern. The dizzying effect of the flurry was meant to confound and distract. Manticore came at his opponent, both blades in motion, but he alternated their purpose as he traversed the air between them. One weapon would in effect parry any defense his opponent mounted against him, while the other countered with a diagonal slash to the mid-section of the body and hopefully the arms. Now that he knew that the 'staff' part of his opponent's weapon was lightsaber resistant, he could configure that fact into his battle tactics and fight accordingly. Tag: NIM |
