I thought I'd separate this from the Math League thread, since...well, just because I can.

2-0...Undefeated, baby!! I haven't heard the new rankings yet, but with 320 points, we should still be in second place, perhaps closing the gap to first. I am thrilled. Tickled pink, even.

who is first?

We have good teams.. I think our strongest is Matth-Caroline-Jake-Catherine, maybe me in place of Jake would work too.

Last year; me, Matth, Jake and Philip were freakin' indestructible.. oh man, it was awesome.

I love how in awe Ms. Rank is of the idea of us winning.

Cumberland Valley. They were only 15 points ahead after the first match, so it could be close. If they scored 145 last week, then we're tied for first; 140 or less, and we've landed ourselves in first place.

I think everyone's stronger this year. And we seem to be grouping ourselves into teams that work. I am really excited to see how this year turns out.

Quiz Bowl Meet at Mechanicsburg tomorrow! I don't know who we're playing, but I'm looking to chalk up another "W."


Quick!: The sine of an angle theta plus the cosine of its compliment.

Quiz Bowl meet on Monday...looking for a win, which would put us 3-1. I haven't seen the rankings since last week's fourth quarter loss to CV, but I think we can catch up by the end of the season.

In addition, we're taping Brainbusters on Wednesday. We're playing Steelton-Highspire, so I have no idea how we'll fare since we've never played them before. As far as I know, it's the same team as last year, which means we've got three good players who are regular Quiz Bowl attendees (although two of 'em weren't last year). I think it'll go well, but wish us luck anyhow...I really want to move on to the next round.

Just an update of all the scores so far:

The stars indicate the scores that I can verify, while the others are scores that I know we got at some point, but don't know exactly when.

So, we're 4-1 with 590 points in the standings, 17-3 overall (I seem to recall losing one in the Prelim Round). Not bad, if I do say so myself.

What's more, Tolan needs to shut his mouth too.. that kid had the balls to say he's better than me, when he has about a 1/4 chance of answering any question he buzzes in for right.

He said that he's better than you? He's way off the mark there...I'm pretty sure he scores the least on the B Team, and he doesn't wait before buzzing in with a mere guess.

He said in the car "Well, I'm usually better than you." in total seriousness..

If we're going strictly by buzzes, yeah, he is.. but he gets around 1 in 4 buzzes correct.

He knows his mythology, and a bit about art, but for the most part, he's not good at all.

For next year, I'm hoping to get Milton and Korean John on the team or something.. Milton, if he'll buzz quickly, will be a HUGE benefit to us.

If I had to guess, that would make the 'B' Team:

Me: General Knowledge, With Slant Towards English, Psychology, Random Authors, Counter-Culture, and Musical Composers
Phil: History, some Math, Geography.
Scott: All things related to the Latin language and Rome, decent Math, Binary (this shows up a lot, surprisingly)
Milton/Jake: Everything Except Social Skills/Nothing

Hey, what's with this rolling eyes? Me, Philip and Jake tore it up last year! With the addition of Milton, we ought to improve a great deal. Our only obvious weakness I can see would be made-up Authors and Painters.
