Yeah, Yriel has always died spectacularly well for me. He usually gets cut down before he can wreak any major havoc on the enemy.

I don't think he was ever bad, but if the point is to get him into combat as quickly as possible, then yes. He's not bad at shooting but with only one shot vs. 4 CC attacks at WS10 and S6... run that beast.

maybe if you give him some supporting fire from other aspect warriors then he might survive. it may also help if you send him in with a unit of striking scorpions or howling banshees or both.;D

Not sure if this has already been said but Yriel works really well with a unit he can hide with. The only problem is getting him into combat, which usually requires a transport, which is quite expensive, plus the cost of the unit, plus the cost of Yriel himself. Its putting a LOT of eggs in one basket, a basket that is quite fragile and flimsy now in 5th edition...

Agreed with wraithlord 1980. The two Wraithlords, plus the Avatar would be quite intimidating coming down the field. With luck your opponent would be frightened into shooting at the large (ranged) Wraithlords first, especially if their long ranged weaponry could cause some headaches. Plus, if they survived to get the avatar into combat, you have some nice friendly flame flower goodness to soften up your targets even more.
