Welcome aboard Sarathai...I take it you don't play much, but that is a lot of Eldar.

If you enjoy painting, be sure to post up some of your models. I'd imagine there would be some really impressive ones amongst your collection.

Thanks for the welcome. You're right, I have a lot of mini's and I do not play very often.

Regarding the painting...ermm..*cough* I like painting, but in fact I do not spend enough time with it and therefor I do not have very many finished models. Most of the time I'm not satisfied with my own work and start all over. But I'll try to get some pictures uploaded, promised.

I didn't know you acted doom diver. Is it a hobby, or do you try to do it as a job? I ask because I myself am an actor, and am trying to make a living out of it.

[Name]

<----- Look Thattaway

[Armies]

Currently raising 1750pts each of Chaos (Fabius Bile) & Craftworld Altansar.
(WHFB: Clan Eshin Skaven, Khorne Daemons, Night Goblins, Dogs of War "Pyrates", Ogre Kingdoms & nurgle Daemons.)

[Path to this Site]

The Link on Bolter & Chainsword. I've stuck another link in the 40k section of WargamerAU.

[Country]

Oz. Specifically: The Shire.

[Site Positives]

It looks good, and has some very sound posts.

[Site Negatives]

It needs more active members. I'd also appreciate the Post Count removed (cos it encourages meaningless posts from pipples simply wanting to up their numbers with no-brainers), and allow an option for members to create their own titles/ ranks.

[Age]

50. Which probably makes me the Elder Eldar here, and I would like that as _my_ rank, please Mods. At least until somebody else arrives here that was born pre 1957.

[Likes]

(In No Particular Order -) Adelaide Crows, Boston Celtics, New Orleans Saints, Adelaide 36ers, Sigur Ros, Art of Noise, Dr John, music, art, architecture, Cascade Premium Light, Tasmania, Canberra, women, raw cashews, liquorice, fish + chips, samurai films, French cinema, prawns, Dawn of War, multi-culturalism and generally unleashing the beast of the imagination.

[Loves] (read: "Great Undying Passions")

My wife. And our son.

[Dislikes]

Closed minds, cruel hearts, and lamb's fry.

[Movies]

Cyrano de Bergerac (with Gerard Depardieu), The City of Lost Children, Hero.

[TV]

Torchwood, Dr Who, Grand Designs. And any football broadcast with Dennis Cometti commentating!

[Songs]

The Real Thing, by Russell Morris; Creating "Governing Dynamics", from the Sountrack of A Beautiful Mind; Beat Box, by Art of Noise; and Sanvean, by Lisa Gerrard.

[Books]

Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa; The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas; and The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett.

[NB: all of the above - bar the Great Undying Passions - may evolve by tomorrow. ;) ]

Welcome aboard the Craftworld officially Ogma Cermait. You've made a very possitive splash into our sleepy community. :)

Concerning your dislikes about the site, I agree that we need more active members. We nearly have 200 members in all, but you wouldn't guess it. The problem is mainly that very few people post continuously, and new eager members often wander away when there's a lack of fresh posts regularly.

If somebody seconds the removal of the post count, I may consider it IF I am capable of removing it. In the meanwhile if it puts your mind at ease I am generally pretty vigilant with people posting souley for their post count, and it doesn't happen often. Additionally, posts in certain forums (mainly the in 'off topic' section of the site) do not contribute to your post count to stop members running amuck endlessly in there. Finally it does help me (more or less your only active mod) keep track of who are the active members.

As to the custome title, I'm afraid I can't just change it. Reason being is we sometimes run competitions from time to time (painting, fiction, scenery, etc), but we don't have any real reward system for winning these apart from self glory. If we run one and you win, you can pick a custom title of your choice as the prize, which is pretty much all we can offer anyway...

Sorry if I've been unable to really adress any of your issues,

Anyway, I do look forward to hearing more from you around the site. I've heard you talk about your models a bit, be sure to show us some of your painting, and maybe some of your son's if he's happy for you to.

Cheers, Cal

No skin off my nose if they're not changed - they are very petty points anyway.

Ogma Cermait is an olde Celtic god of eloquence, inspiration, language, magic, music, physical strength, poets & writers, and was renowned for carrying a very large club. As I'm 195cms tall (6'4 in ye olde measurements) & 115kgs (or 280lbs/ pds), I guess I might fit that description.

Cermait is Gaelic for "honey mouthed".

I think ole Ogma may turn up as my Autarch or Farseer! ;)

Name?
Mazer Rackham

Armie(s)?
Eldar Alaitoc (of the Craftword days, but now looking to start something a bit faster!)
Marines - loads and loads of them, Salamanders, Marines Errant, Black Templars, Crimson Fists, Scythes of The Emperor, Grey Knights, Lamenters.

Still have some Tau hiding somewhere.

Fantasy
Some High Elves kicking about, mainly Dwarfs now though

How did you find out about this site?
I actually found the link on Bolter and Chainsword and needed some advice!

What do you like about the site?
I like that it's about the Eldar - so few sites about with ++dedicated++ Eldar advice, I know there are others, with it, but I don't really want to have to wade through it all...

What needs improving?
So far, not that much - but I'll know more after a mooch about the place.

Other info?
Country: United Kingdom

Anyway, I'm glad I signed up and hoping for some good stuff.

MR.

What needs improving; board activity. :P

Hey man, I'm Cal, welcome to the board if you're still around. I'll check your other posts and help you out as much as I can, but in honesty I kinda lost touch with the hobby after 5th ed. Maybe we might see someone else pop by though to give some input.
