I've noticed that the forum's a bit glitchy. For me, at least.
Anyone else notice that?

I'm on this other forum, Anti Mobius. It was on the same host as us for a while, but they moved to Jcink after getting fed up with how glitchy it was.

Jcink is actually an improved version of Invision Free (our current host here) so it wouldn't be a drastic change if we switched. Any thoughts, Timmi? Everyone else?
Here's the site, if you're interested.

Oh, it's still free, too. And the URL would be shorter than it is now.

Ugh! This sounds like an advertisement, now that I've read through it. 12.gif
I can't think of a better way to word it, though.

Can't say I've experienced any glitches on an Invision Free board, and this is the second one I've Admined...

What sort of glitches have you noticed?

Oh, just things like everything loading slowly. Like, when I clicked this topic just now, it took a few minutes to fully load. I've seen fewer glitches than I did with AM when it was on Invision Free, but it's still pretty darn slow. I dunno, it was just a thought.

I'll look into it, but I also haven't noticed any speed issues.

What do you mean, what am I using? What browser? Or what?

And actually, it's working a bit quicker now. I suppose clearing my history and cache probably helped a bit.

Invision boards, although convenient because they host for free, have their downsides.

-The databases are hosted elsewhere
-Ads
-Nonsecure
-Not expandable
-Limitations

If you do ever decide to choose a different forum, I think you can download your database from Invision if you pay. (Yeah, pretty lame.) Otherwise, you'll lose everything.

Personally? I highly recommend a phpBB install. Something local and private so you can make your own backups, make changes to your forum, keep bots out, so on and so on...

The only thing I have trouble with is sometimes the ocmic images take a little while to load.

That would be SmackJeeves' issue I'm afraid. Nothing I can do about it until I try hosting independently, which is a long way off yet.
