I loves your MVs! I like how you made good choices of songs for your movies. My favorites out of them all are Remeber the Titans, Pirates of the Carribean, Taking Over Me, Amazing Grace, and Welcome to the Forty Theives. Nice job! I'm gonna watch them over again! I never really wasn't into Evanescense before but now I'm like in love with that song! Hope you make more!

Your MV's rock my socks! Seriously Remember the Titans is so awesome, but so sad! I love them all!

Thanks for the great feedback! ^_^ It's always my pleasure to introduce people to songs a little outside the mainstream, and though that certainly doesn't describe Evanescence, I'm glad you've found something new that you can enjoy. As for making more MV's...I think that chances of that are pretty big.

Aw..thanks, Sasha. Thanks for such positive comments. They make me happy inside.

Wow! I love your MVs! They're all so great, but my favorite is... "Remember the Titans"! Very very nicely done! (I had a funny feeling someone would make an MV with that song...) So sad!

ChibiRaven - January 28, 2006 12:41 PM (GMT)
I like these a lot. Though I think your later ones are better. ^^

My personal favourite? El Tango De Roxanne.

Remember the titans was good too, but it made me feel too sad T_T

Hahaha.. I LOVE that MV. It makes me so devilishly happy. *hugs BB/Rae?Slade triangle*

My only regret is that I finished a few days before things change, and then we had the awesome BB/Slade fight scene. *le sigh* Ooooooh wellll.. it's still a big bag of fun times.

I admit, Remember the Titans was designed to be sad. *ducks rotten produce* I suppose it was the mood I was in at the time, but it was just something I had to do. The song was stuck in my head all through Things Change and the rest of the day, even though I only new a few words to the chorus.

And yes: my later ones are definitely better. ;) But since the time span on these range from last Mayish to a few weeks ago, it's not so suprising.

I think the lyrics worked very well with the Roxanne song...tres bon! ^^

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I think its good to put up all your work. How else would we know how you'd improved? And you have improved, a lot. So you may take it as a compliment! ^.^

Hehe, I can't wait to say more...any more coming up in the forseeable future?

Most definitely. I'm in the middle of two at the moment, and I have ten or so requests I need to finish before I leave....

(which probably won't happen anytime soon anyway)

New one should be up...meh..tomorrow evening or Mondayish. Soon, anyway.

ChibiRaven - January 29, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
Wow...well I look forward to seeing them! ^.^

I've watched some more of the vids today. You're editing skills are really impressive! Keep up the good work, dude!

Spoonvonstup - January 30, 2006 05:20 AM (GMT)
New one for you, as promised. I think it's probaby the nicest thing I've done for the Beast Boy/Terra 'ship. This song is soo...coooool.... Really. It is. I first heard it over Winter Break and I loved it. I had NO idea what it was talking about, but I fell in love with the awesomeness of the music of it all. I spent a day listening to the song on repeat and doing research online to figure out what other people thought of it (just because I was curious; I didn't want to make it into a video yet). Reading through it all, I suddenly realized...Oh man! This could fit Beast Boy and Terra soooo well! After that, it was a 'simple' matter of assigning my own metaphors to a few vauge phrases and....tada! The leg work is already done for you and put into the video; hopefully, it won't be so hard to understand what she's trying to say.

Unfortunately, after about two hours of trying, I've failed to upload the video on either putfile or zippyvideos. (Putfile is still trying at the moment, but I don't have too much hope) Just YouTube and rapidshare for now.

EDIT: Putfile now works. *kicks it anyway*

Many thanks, AiOrikasa! I appreciate the sentiment very much. And funnily enough, this is probably the only video I've made that I felt myself come close to something emotional...and I'm not really even a fan of BB/T! I guess it must have been the music.

*is a music nerd*

Shapeshifting_Soul08 - February 6, 2006 03:47 AM (GMT)
very well done...I give you *counts fingers* 4 thumbs up!

ehem...i like the Lady Marmalade one and of course Remember the Titans

it made me sad  but i enjoyed it alot!

keep up the great work! WOOT!

AiOrikasa - February 6, 2006 04:31 AM (GMT)
I decided to watch more of your MVs! I like the TT ladies one and El Tango De Roxanne. I like El Tango De Roxanne the most. The emotion and lyrics to the song really matched the BB/Rae/Slade thing going on. Marvelous job. :worship:

feelingrandom - February 9, 2006 05:09 AM (GMT)
I didn't have time to watch all of them... but I was thrilled to see that you posted "Daughters" on there. I thought that I was the only one that knew that song, and I had planned on making an MV for it (as soon as I figured out how). But I guess you beat me to it. *shrug*

I couldn't stop listening to "Lady Marmalade". See, I'm listening to it now. ^.^ It's addictive.

Also, I thought that "Over the Rainbow" was the original traditional song, you know... the one that everybody knows. But when I started to listen to it, I was all, "Hey, that's not English... wait, I KNOW that language!" (yes, I was too stupid to read the print above which plainly said that the song was in Korean... but oh well.)

Your videos are great. I can't wait for your next one. And now that Lady Marmalade has ended, I think I'll listen to it again! *is a dork*

AiOrikasa - February 11, 2006 01:26 AM (GMT)
Hey you know the song Taking Over Me by Evanescence that you used for your other MVs? Do you know where I could buy it for a reasonable price for my Ipod? ITunes isn't working and it just has the song in jazz form. If you know thanks, if ya don't it's ok. I guess I might have to go buy an Evanescence CD at FYE.

I'll pm you a rapidshare link for that. And I agree with you about Roxanne; it's definitely one of my favorite videos.

feelingrandom: ^_^ Yeah, I knew that would happen to many people, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was worried that the translation would be completely off, but my roomie look at it (from Korea) and she approved of everything so.. *phew* Also glad you're having fun with Lady Marmalade. It was an absolute blast to do.

And Daughters? Yeah. It was one of the first TT MV's I made. I heard the song, and it screamed BB/Rae at me. I obeyed, and my ears thanked me for it.

Oh my gosh.

I am completely in love with your videos.

I was browsing through your YouTube account, and found your video to "Devils Food" --and all I have to say is that is now my favorite one of your videos. Not to mention a new addition to my list of favorite songs.

Lovely job on everything and keep up the good work!

Well, I actually have a vid for you for Valentine's Day. Really, it was totally finished last night at just about 11:00, but I suddenly woke up and it's 4:00. I have no idea what happened in between. Sleep is the likely answer.
I was finally able to finish one of the five MV's I'm working on, and this one only took a day. Strange, considering it's almost 7 minutes long. Doesn't feel like it when you're watching it though.

A word on the music: it's from the musical The Last Five Years. It's not that well known, but man oh man...it's so beautifully sad. It follows the last five years of Cathy and Jamie; Cathy tells the story in reverse, and Jamie from the beginning. Theier story meets in the middle. There's almost no dailogue, just songs, and somehow the whole thing works even though you KNOW in the first song what happens in the event in THIS song by Jamie.
Oh man. You want to hate Jamie/Robin so much for what he's doing, but he somehow gets your sympathy at the same time. This is my ultimate triangle video, and it's painful because it makes me understand the R/R point of view because I can see that if Robin and Starfire fell apart, it could happen like this.

Nobody Needs to Know (The Last Five Years)- Starfire/Robin/Raven triangle

Set aside some time. Enjoy the parody. I'm very happy with how it turned out. Every time I preview this video and the credits appear, I can't help myself from whispering, "awesome!" and watching again. *hugs the beautifully painful song*

Then go watch The Last Five Years.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Haha! What a brilliant idea! mmm....(and no, you won't get beaten for being a noob).. I'll DEFINITELY add it to my list of future projects. At the moment, I'm working on another Beast Boy tribute, as well as two RobStar's and another controversial triangle, as well as a team tribute request and...ten other requests.

But yes. The idea rocks. You rock for thinking it up.

A TGASD! *glomps* I see you everywhere! As always, glad to hear your feedback.

nevar4 - February 23, 2006 04:52 AM (GMT)
I didn't watch all of them but I like the " Remember the Titans" one. The music fit perfectly.

Spoonvonstup - February 26, 2006 09:55 PM (GMT)
Two new videos for you. One team request, one triangle of doom. I suppose I'm in a triangle-y mood.

Hero (Mariah Carey)- Team Tribute for Nami

As requested by Nami (through SweetNymph). I'm really happy with how this turned out. Thank GOODNESS for all the lovely 'thinking/scenery' sequences in Things Change. And considering SweetNymph's pairing of choice, I tried to be fairly partial to Beast Boy and Raven.

and..

Regret: Cheers, Darlin' (Damien Rice)- Beast Boy/Starfire/Robin tribute
Rapidshare Download

Why Beast Boy and Starfire? Doesn't that pairing...not really exist? ^_^ Well, there's your answer. Just because the shippage isn't very large, doesn't mean they don't deserve a video tribute worth a butt shake.

You won't like the song. I don't even really like it, but it's the perfect song for this particular story (bitter, angry, slightly druuunk). You probably won't like the subject matter either. But still... 5 minutes of coherent, dramatic, psuedo-story Beast Boy and Starfire? It's something to be seen.

A word on Terra's appearance. The line goes: "I've got a ribbon of green around my guitar." What the heck does that mean? I interprated that as, I'm putting up sheilds...surrounding myself with walls and pretend feelings (pairings) to protect myself from these feelings (the guitar) that will remain unrequited. And then... "I got a beauty Queen to sit not very far from me." He's convinced Terra to see things from his point of view (thus the Terra beating up Robin).

Yes. I got pretty twisted. *shrug* Oh! And just because you save someone doesn't mean you've chosen them.

blueflamie - February 26, 2006 10:44 PM (GMT)
Like I said on the R/S shrine... I loved them both. ^_^

Good Job Spoonvonstup

I like your new one Spoon! Ya know Hero by Mariah. You pick songs wisely based upon the MV you make. Coolio.

Spoonvonstup - March 17, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
New video for you.

Bigger Than My Body
Theme: Titan Tribute (Beast Boy)
Song: Bigger Than My Body (John Mayer)

Took me several months to actually finish. Why? Because I've been afraid to do Beast Boy. It's pretty dang hard to strike a balance between light-hreated BB and his proble-less dance and the Beast Boy of Things Change, Betrayal, Aftershock, and Beast Within.

Serious light-hearted tribute.

THINK BIG!

Yes! You used Fuel! *dance*

I love this video. It's an interesting look at the Robin/Starfire couple, especially since some label the pairing as the simply the 'cute' couple. I can see you've picked up some new techniques, perhaps picked up from citrus02honey?

Yes, this video rocks. My favorite part is near the end where you flash the battle images from 'Apprentice' along with Robin and Starfire staring lovingly at each other in 'Date With Destiny'. Awesome job.

Perhaps indeed. It's been such a joy to have so many talanted editors to watch and oogle their lovely work. Sure, citrus has definitely been a profound inspiration for me to have fun with snap quick changes.

the main inspiration for this video was actually from a Sailor Moon AMV to the same song.. I don't know the movies well, but the world turned to ice and there was a lady on a comet and Luna turned into a human? Yeah. What an AMV. Inspired me to get into editing myself.

Fade in from white (little explosions) at the beginning of each scene I discovered in "Over The Rainbow"... I found it made the transitions easier to see and match exactly with the beat. The scenes over Date With Destiny? I've been itching to experiment with that for a long time...El Jugador did something similar (a scene explosion with the same scene running underneath) before I got to it, and I thought: Why not take it a step further into awesome land?

I'm really happy with the way that experiment turned out, and I only hope I've brought to light one more way to trick WMM into letting you produce extremely fun things.

The "Will You Remember Me" One made me cry!

sorarocksmysocks - April 29, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
Guess this is a little late...but I'd like to comment on the Beast Boy one.

Firstly, I love John Mayer. And I love this song. So if the fact that YOU made this AMV didn't already set me on the edge of my seat, the fact that I already loved the music did.

By the end of the video, I was wondering only one thing- could this song have been used successfully for Robin? I think there would've been more metaphors if Robin had been used (such as the "someday I'll fly, someday I'll soar" line, which was used literally in most cases in this video), and I always love your use of metaphors. This is the first AMV I'm unsure of how you want the viewer to interpret, because you did use a lot of literal meanings for the lyrics.

Even if Robin could've suited the music, you made the video unique to only Beast Boy. The best Beast Boy AMV I've seen, to be honest with you. I'd like to express how I interpreted some of the scenes and lyrics.

"Surrounded by all this pavement"/ Scenes used: Mento using the floor to shield Beast Boy, Beast Boy fighting with Aqualad, the Brotherhood of Evil---- This line particularly stuck out to me, especially when you showed the scene of Beast Boy and Aqualad showing each other. I think the 'pavement' (or, in this case, his jealousy toward Aqualad, the Brotherhood of Evil, or, perhaps, Mento's overprotectiveness) symbolized the things holding Beast Boy back, the things that stood in his way of growing up. I don't think I'm right in this sense, but I find comfort in this translation.

"For my fuse to dry" scenes used: Beast Boy fighting Slade x2, Beast Boy facing down Robin----- The scene that drew me to this line was the latter one- the part where Beast Boy was staring down Robin, where you zoomed in slightly (for more emphasis, I believe). I think these scenes show moments in Beast Boy's life that he particularly regretted, or that he had let his emotions get the best of him. To precise, the line, "for my fuse to dry" was used twice with the BB/Robin scene, something that I thought was supposed to call more attention to the scene being shown. I interpretted it as Robin and Beast Boy formed a rift between them in that scene, and BB was still waiting for that "fuse to dry", but it was never mended. It was a particular 'fuse' (or, as said, a moment in Beast Boy's life) that BB felt the most remorse for.

"I'm stranded behind the horizon line, tied up in something true" scenes used: Beast Boy talking to Mento, him taking off his mask---- The 'horizon', I think, in Beast Boy's life, would be the point where he stood up to Mento, which is precisely the scene you used. I interpret the 'horizon' as a brief moment in BB's life where everything thereafter was put into perspective. And the term 'stranded' is used because Beast Boy was always the one who always seemed like he would never grow up, but once he took that big step into maturity, he couldn't go back. The 'tied up in something true' part had a more specific meaning to me- a conclusion I drew in remembrance of what Beast Boy was saying to Mento during their conversation. The 'something true' was Mento sending them on a suicide mission, and him not being the best leader for Beast Boy (and an implication that Robin was the better guider).

While my interpretations are probably way off or over-analyzed, they made this video so much fun to watch- and they only sprouted because of how the video was arranged and displayed.

The ending was a particular joy for me- merely because of the comparison between the Star/BB hug in 'Every Dog Has Its Day' and the Rae/BB in 'Spellbound'- ironically, the two embraces are quite similar, specifically in the way the girls cling to BB. The difference being that you see Beast Boy smile right before being hugged by Starfire, whereas he was mostly shocked in 'Spellbound'. (Man, I need that Star/BB hug screenshot. That'd make a sweet avatar.)

Sorry this post is so long-winded and rambling. I just like sharing what I thought of when I saw the scenes in your music video, because I know you like to use metaphors. ^^
