Title: How You Would Make "Things Change" Better
Description: How to end the series on a high note

al_davis_4_president - January 17, 2006 11:59 PM (GMT)
For everybody who saw the last episode of Teen Titans, and was as disgusted as I was at the predictable, plothole-ridden story and terrible ending, this is for you. How to make the episode good.

I'd start by explaining Terra's return, first of all...

Typhoon 3 - January 18, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
I think if they shortened the Terra/BB moments a bit, they could squeeze in a scene where BB eventually helps defeat the Chamelion dude.

To be honest, I really wanted BB and Raven to kiss at the end, so they'd have a scene of that too.

*sigh* Only time and the comix will tell if TT ever comes back.

dragon_fly13 - January 18, 2006 01:08 AM (GMT)
i thought they could have made it WAY better! Come ON! it's the last EPISODE and they end it like that!!! not that i have anything against Terra :terra: i just thought they would have focused more on the Titans, like leave little hints on what will happen in the future for them u know?!

al_davis_4_president - January 18, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
You know what would've been better? If it had all been a part of BB's subconsciousness trying to get him to let go--especially when it came to Slade. That just seemed like an excuse to get Ron Perlman in the last episode.

FlamebladeX - January 18, 2006 04:15 PM (GMT)
I believe I mentioned this previously somewhere else.

They should have extended the ending and had BB running down the street toward the direction of the signal. He should have an internal monologue and the last words should be 'I guess thing change'.

The Future of Teen Titans and JLU

Newsarama has published a very interesting article on WB Animation: "DOING THE LEAGUE JUSTICE: Timm & Tucker Talk About New Season…And Just What’s Up With WB Animation?" by Steve Fritz

Here's a segment from the article concerning the Teen Titans: "Here’s what I also know. When questioning both Warner Bros. and CN regarding the end of both the Teen Titans and the Justice League, both groups jumped on the defensive. CN, in particular, didn’t want me to think things were done with the Titans no matter what was being said. As proof they pointed out how the Titans had been moved to their new slot on the Miguzi afternoon block. As one of the channel’s most popular shows that does give me cause to pause."

"Personal speculation, supplemented by sources, makes me think we will be seeing more Titans and JL in some form or another. What will determine the future of the League will be the ratings of this upcoming season. As for everything else, I’ll be sitting back and waiting."

"On one final note, the Warners did tell me there is going to be a lot of announcements, in fact three sets of them, coming from them in the very near future. The first will be delivered during WonderCon this February 24-25. The second will be during the upfront sessions that will be held by Kids WB and CN on March 1. The last set will be around the middle of the March. "

But don't start throwing "Happy Blorthog" Parties yet! Keep in mind, much of the article is speculative; Also, I know for a fact that a few of the "development" projects Fritz talks about are in error. Also, Warner's could be referring to "Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo" DTV - which is a done deal and at the end of production.

The best thing EVERYONE can do is KEEP WRITING! Obviously, they are beginning to notice!

hmmm....

pastelstorm - January 22, 2006 04:32 AM (GMT)
I thought this episode was perfect the way it is.

Beastgirl - February 4, 2006 01:25 AM (GMT)
I think they should've made it either an hour long or have it be a two-parter, then add in more interaction between the five original team members, and more of a conclusion. Of course, I would've loved to have seen at least something between Beast Boy and Raven; even just a short conversation would've been nice. :bbxrae:

Bun800 - February 4, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
For me I think Terra should have just stayed a rock---Then have Raven and Beast Boy make out. :P Well anyway at least something better than having BB run out the door at then end of the show

Dancing Banana - February 4, 2006 11:00 PM (GMT)
I thought the ending was fine the way it was. Hooray for symbolisms!

AiOrikasa - February 4, 2006 11:30 PM (GMT)
I finally watched it. I think it was okay. I mean we were wondering if the series finale would be more of a push, but we didn't get it. I also think it was fine as it is as a season ender. I was thinking of something way beyond of what happened in that episode. Maybe the producers made the episode before they found out that TT was going to be cancelled. If they knew maybe the episode wouldv'e been a little different. To me Titans Together wouldv'e been both a wonderful season and series ender. Oh well........

darkraven5421 - March 8, 2006 12:20 AM (GMT)
well i noticed raven talked a lot more without bb around.wonder y that is

Lone_Wolf - March 8, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
I like the episode just the way it is. It was a great one.

I still don't think this was orginally intended to be a seiries finale, becuase the show's creators/writers got word after the 5th Season had already started. To late to change.

This was a very deep, moving episode, albeit a little slow-paced. But I did like how the writers left a lot of questions unanswered. It leaves a lot to the imagination and makes it more fun. Think of this: if the writers said exactly how Terra came back, exactly how Slade appeared out of nowhere, exactly what was that monster and its purpose, or if they told exactly if Terra was lying or not, it wouldn't be as fun.

It's one of the reasons I like BB/Rae so much. it leaves a lot to the imagination. The paring isn't true, so you could do basically anything with it.

It's the same with this episode. I actually liked how the series ended on this, because you can do so much with it in fanfiction. Sometimes it's better to leave things open-ended then closed.

WiccaGem18536 - April 4, 2006 08:52 AM (GMT)
I think you guys all have great points, but if I were in charge...

At the end, BB would start to help the others fighting the Thing,
He would get knocked over,
Then jump up and carry on fighting,
Then receive cool little smile from Raven,
And think,
"Maybe change isn't so bad."

Reasons:
Terra has changed but she's okay and quite happy,
BB's not the same cause he's improved,
Raven's changed cause she's okay with smiling now and stuff,

And there's a POSSIBLE implied change for BB from Terra to Raven,
Respecting Terra's choice to be a normal girl and not remember,
IF you want to take it that way.

See,
Possible BBxRae moment
Or just friendship thing.

Even non BBxRae shippers can see that wouldn't have been SUCH an awkward ending, right?
:terra:  :wub2:

OKAY, DON'T KILL ME!
PLEASE!!!

Steel-Wings - April 4, 2006 01:16 PM (GMT)
I thought it was fine the way it is. Though, I just didn't like the "running through the door" end. >.>

The Great Alaskan Snow Dog - April 4, 2006 03:36 PM (GMT)
My opinion?

Throw out everything about the Brotherhood of Evil, stick it at the end of Season 2 (and rearrange the episodes in that season so that all of the "filler" episodes, save WTA because Terra's in it briefly, come AFTER the Aftershock episodes), and make Titans Together a two-parter for the ending. ^^

Lizard-man - April 7, 2006 11:05 PM (GMT)
Oh ME ME! PICK ME!
I have I great idea! Have the Titans get pushed into a corner by that crazy monster thing and then BB burst in through the window as a Pteradactly. The Glass hits that creature and it turns into glass. BB then lands and charges at the monster as a Rhino/Bull/Triceratops and smashes him to bits! Robin then comes over to the now panting Beastboy and congratulates him on a job well done. BB tells him in a non-chalant way that it was nothing. This gets a surprise look from everyone from the fact BB isn't boasting like Mike Tyson or something. Later at the Tower BB's sitting on the roof and Raven comes and talks to him about the days events.
Raven: You're missing dinner.
BB: I'm not hungry.
(Raven sits down beside him)
Raven: So was it really Terra?
BB: If it was she's changed. A lot. She probably doesn't remember or doesn't want to. Either way she's moved on. The Terra I knew is gone.
Raven: Did she look happy?
BB: Very happy. Happier than she was when she was a hero.
Raven: Than maybe it's better like this.
BB: Yeah.
Raven: You gonna be okay.
BB: Eventually. (Turns to Raven) I'll find someone else, some day.
Raven: (Small Smile) Whoever it is they'll be lucky to have you.
BB: (Surprised) Really?
Raven: Definetly (Gets up to go to the stairs) Come on Garfield, you're Tofu is probably getting cold.
BB: (Chuckles) Hey! Call me Beastboy remember.
Raven: I told you I'd get mileage out of it.
(Raven starts to walk away to the door)
BB: (BB watching her with a smile) Maybe change isn't too bad. (Follows her side by side to the door)
end

Or somethign along those dialogue lines, but I'd still like the last words of dialogue to remain the same. Than again I think this DTV movie thing is the real finale or maybe they'll pick the series up in a new format or something. Who knows! Kim Possible use to be cancelled and now they say they're bringing it back. You never know.

I thought it was a good episode, it's just they shouldn't have had it as the series finale. It just left so many damn question wanting to be answered.

1 word. Fluff. Major BBxRae fluff. I would like if it said....

2 Years Later.....

Preist: I now pronounce you man and wife.

*BB and Rae kiss*

Everyone: WHOOOOO!!!

*Raven throws out boquey(sp?)*

*Lands in Starfires arms and Starfire wraps her arm around robin.*

(camera floats into the sky revealing a nice sunny cloudless day)

And then in big fancy letters in handwriting say......

The End.

That's an ending for me!!!!

wanna know what I think??

I think that they shouldn't have made that episode the last of the series! at least make it longer so we can watch what happend instead of leaving an evil cliff hanger.. and they shouldn't have made the last episode a BB/T one....sorry...

I still don't think this was orginally intended to be a series finale.

I think the story ended at season 4. Then, instead of making a two-or-three-part-episode, they made a season-episode. The whole season 5 is like the last episode. Notice how there was an episode to each character:
-Robin: Revved Up. He learnt to trust, from Masks to Revved Up.
-Cyborg: Kole. He learnt that everyone has a talent, no matter how odd or different from you they are. Or at least I think it was it. Well, almost nobody cares about him (no offense, just stating what I saw). He was learning this from The Sum of His Parts to Kole.
-Raven: Hide and Seek. She learnt to care about others. She has been learning this almost every episode, but look how she changed from Divide and Conqueer, when she said: "People come and people go, there´s no point caring about Cyborg", to when she babysitted and hugged three children. OBS.:Little help from Robin here. All the times we think he did a really stupid mistake, it turns out not that he was planning it, but that improved the team. Really lucky guy, innit?
-Starfire: Snowblind. She learnt about Earth. She became less naíve. She could even help and advice someone, seeing that he was good behind the destruction he made. Compare now her line: "I did not know we were suppose to bring showels" at Sisters, to "Let´s kick the butts!" at Titans Together, going through Troq and Can I Keep Him?, Discrimination and well, she wasn´t actually chalenged or learnt something, but it was pretty funny and cute to watch!
-Finally, Beast Boy: Things Change. Yep, that´s it, the episode everyone hated, THE EPISODE. It was Beast Boy´s. He learnt to letthe things he loves free. If you try to bound something to you, too hard, when it wants to go, the thing gets weaker. You have to let it go, and hope, that someday, it will come back. I believe it, and when I finnaly understood that it was that they were trying to show, I was glad to know that this idea appeared in Teen Titans.

Fixed. Please don't change the font color or size, it's not necessary -Dancing Banana

craZy18gurl - June 23, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
Key-Raminus, it's best that you decrease your font size as some people find it annoying and avoid double posting. It can lead you into trouble. Double posting is only allowed after 24 hours if no one has replied after your post.

souls_harmony - June 27, 2006 11:58 PM (GMT)
I think they should have left out Terra, or only had her in for a short time. BB goes back beats the weird monster and the team walks around town looking at how things changed when they were gone. For instance, they walk by the peir thing, and someone says, "Remeber the time when the fair was in town and BB won Rae that chiken?" then they'd laugh and continue remenicing.

At the end BB would be sad becuase so much changed. Someone (preferably Raven) would comfort him saying, "It's ok. we can make new memories. You need to let the past go ect. ect." or something like that. The episode ends with them walking/flying into the sunset to Titans Tower.

That would have made me very happy.

yeah that would have been a better ending.

Thank you BBRae4ever, I think so too.

Then again I'm refusing to acknowledge that the episode even existed so thats pretty much it.

sorarocksmysocks - June 29, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)
Well, for one, the whole thing would've been a BB/Robin bonding episode. Terra would be involved like she originally was, but Robin and Beast boy would have lovely interaction throughout the whole thing. Perhaps BB being insecure about all the changes, but Robin reminds him of all the mature things he's done and reassuring him that he can handle anything.

-dreamysigh- That would've been great.

EDIT:

QUOTE

Actually, I understand why they did that- in one of the Terra episodes, Beast Boy waits by the door for Terra and she runs up to him, walking out with him (the door had the same white glow)- this time, he walks through it alone.

Lizard-man - June 29, 2006 02:12 AM (GMT)
Sora, its always surprised me that you wouldn't have made the last episode a Rob/Rae feature. I'm guessing if you were in charge of the whole series though you already would have had them kissing at the end of season four.

Not that any of this matters because as I said, the episode "Things Change" doesn't exist. At least not to me.

I agree with Jedi .I didnt like the running out the door part but...I mean it was ok. ^^; But the show wasn't ENTIRELY deppressing ,but it wasn't that great . I wanted to know HOW Terra got out of her rock prison. And if the Titans won the fight. Maybe they'll answer it in the movie and show how it happened.Who knows.....

BBRae4ever - July 23, 2006 09:59 PM (GMT)
I know how I would make it better. Terra wouldn't be in this episode... AT ALL! And Beast Boy would be with Raven.

Bun800 - July 27, 2006 08:20 PM (GMT)
Eh....probably the only thing I would like to change about this episode is the ending. C'mon, BB runs out the door into a bright lighted outside--end of series. Pretty lame if you ask me, The directors could have at least made it a little better.
