Title: What does "grebnacks" mean?

Spazz - May 4, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
In the episode "Fear Itself," there was a blackout around the middle of the episode. Right before they find a source of light and continue trying to find the "thing," Starfire shouts, "gah! someone's claws are in my grebnacks!" Then a popping sound is heard, followed by Beast Boy apologizing.

What do you think his claws were stuck in? (And please, do not answer "HER GREBNACKS!")

AiOrikasa - May 4, 2007 02:21 AM (GMT)
Probably her boobs. I dunno, grebnacks sounds sorta like breasts.

Spazz - May 4, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
I think thigh is a little more practical than breasts (even though breasts are plausible) because if one hears a popping noise, it wouldn't come from a breast, and plus if it were her breast she would have screamed much more loudly. However, with these Tamaraneans, you just never know...

SoniCalvin - May 4, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
I was going to say breasts, and I'm most likely right, but... I didn't wanna come off as sounding perverted.

Just do it.

SoniCalvin - May 4, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
Alrighty then. :P I'd say she was talking about her breasts.

Thighs might be plausible too.

dl316bh - May 4, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
Well, Starfire has never really been modest in the characters history, so I doubt she'd scream if someone had touched her boobs. XD

I'd have to go with boobs. The tameraenean language the Teen Titans crew used was even admittedly a made up way for Starfire to swear without really swearing or use words "unsuitable" for a kids show without really using them. Breasts would pretty much fall under the latter category.

Claws in boobs HURT. At a certain time of the month, it would be incredibly painful. However, as I said, with Tamaraneans, you never know.

That, and that whole thing was obviously intended to be comedic, hence the likely reason there was no scream. I mean, let's be fair. Claws in anything hurts.

Spazz - June 22, 2007 06:20 PM (GMT)
True, but it still would have been funny, depending on what type of scream they used. Not a blood curdling one, but some sort of exclamation preceding "someone's claws are in my grebnacks!" Then people would have wondered why she screamed, and then the grebnacks explanation would come later.

al_davis_4_president - June 22, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
Dude. It TOTALLY means boobs.

Dancing Banana - June 22, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
It was her ASS.

Octopi have beaks, which could be mistaken for claws, and if you look at the screenshot, Starfire is face down, with him... well, you know.

As for the pluralness of the word, it could mean "buttocks".

So nyeh. =P

RavenRules - June 23, 2007 01:41 AM (GMT)
Grebnacks...lol...I say it means theigh, mostly because BB would have a hell of a beating by Star or Robin for touching her boobs or butt.
Then again maybe it was another body part and she screamed cause of pain not surprize(It was a claws OW)...just an opinion though.

Nikkilove06 - June 27, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
That's a good question. Honestly, I think it means her breasts but like Dancing Banana said, Star was face down so... I really don't know.
(brain cramp) @_@

Bun800 - June 27, 2007 06:28 PM (GMT)
I have to agree with DB. Octopi have beaks for mouths, which are like really big and could probably kill you with one clamp down, but my vote was for her ass XD

That's the only place where you could get in somewhere besides her mouth. hence: "Someone's claws are in my grebnacks!" XDDDD

Babyburbur - July 24, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
Before I even clicked on this thread, I thought boobs would be winning lol

Steel-Wings - August 13, 2007 02:07 PM (GMT)
O_O;; It's been AGES since I last posted. xD;;
Anyway, I've always thought they meant boobies :P

Spazz - August 13, 2007 03:04 PM (GMT)
Why boobies? DX

Does anyone even remember BB's claws were when the light came back on?

Xipz - August 13, 2007 03:21 PM (GMT)
BOOBIES!

SamZ - August 13, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
Boobies!

SparkyX - August 13, 2007 09:14 PM (GMT)
You two, please refrain from a one word reply such as those. Consider this as your final warning.

Because the more perverted the answer, the more fun it is! =D

But in all seriousness, the writers basically said they used the Tameranian language whenever they wanted to use bad words, or jokes "not appropriate" for children while still being amusing, considering the fact that it was a language they made up. That's the way it was mostly used (which is actually rather ingenious, by the way). This is a big reason why I think it was the boobs. That or her butt.

It was most likely her boobies since there were two 'pop's sound after Beast Boy removed his tentacles from her... whatever it was. :P

Spazz - August 13, 2007 09:51 PM (GMT)
Two pop's coulda been her butt. Or her... productive area.

Bluemage14 - August 13, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
^ Okay...not only was that pushing it waaaay over the line, but it doesn't make sense...or it would've been like a...rustling...of hair...sound...OH, I've gotta stop.

dl316bh - August 13, 2007 10:29 PM (GMT)
Oh god! I love how quickly this line of thought went south. From the comments of the staff, no less! Haha! XD

SamZ - August 13, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
Lives me wondering, what was the word Starfire called BB in the "forces of nature" episode. bag-something... And at the end of the episode there was a new word.

Xipz - August 13, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
A Clorbag Varblernelk, and a Milnip Wusserloop.

SamZ - August 13, 2007 11:53 PM (GMT)
LOL Yeah. Wish I had your memory.
But what do you think that means?

Spazz - August 26, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)
Uhhh... Klorbag Varblernelk = blundering a$$hole?

Bluemage14 - August 26, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
^ sounds good enough for me. ^^

SamZ - August 26, 2007 08:15 PM (GMT)
Ugh. Starfire is mean... @_@

Beastgirl2 - September 1, 2007 06:06 PM (GMT)
I just saw this episode, and if you watch when they're all piled on top of each other, one of BB's tentacles is wrapped around under Starfire's chest. After she says the thing about claws on her grebnacks, BB steps away waving his hands in the air and acts kinda like, "I didn't mean to do it, I swear!" I definitely think it was her boobs.

SamZ - September 2, 2007 09:26 AM (GMT)
lol Now I wonder if he did that on purpose. :shifty:

(Yes, FBX is back, and nice to know my smilies are still as adorable as when I left them :glomp: )

Spazz - September 7, 2007 01:41 AM (GMT)
I still think it's her badunkadunk.

Xipz - September 7, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
From the picture, it could either be her behind, or her baby feeders. But most likely, it is her behind.

dl316bh - September 7, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
I dunno. That tentacle seems pretty much situated around her chest. If he'd transform into something with claws, I'd estimate it would be her boobs. XD

Also, notice that "grebnacks" is plural. When one looks at wordplay, the butt is generally referred to in the singular sense. Another reason I lean towards breasts.

Either way, I vote that we're thinking way too much about this! XP

Spazz - September 7, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
Isn't that what we're about, Damien?

Also, notice that "grebnacks" is plural.

Some Terran languages don't even use 's' as their pluralisative letter. Why would aliens?
