Dear Human Civilizations,
It’s still happening, as much as you try to hide yourself from the fact. It’s all around you, everywhere you look. You can see it, if you try. It’s in the faces of friends, strangers, and in your own eyes. The constant struggle, the fight, really, between polar opposites. Light and dark, good and evil, Heaven and Hell, Angels and Demons. It’s still happening, though most associate it with times of old, and great civilizations crumbling to dust.
But really, what are you, underneath it all? You’re just another legion of empires, built upon the dust of your predecessors.
But I digress. I was supposed to keep talking about the war, right? Yeah.
Anyway. The eternal battle is still being waged; Earth is the focus, as it has always been. The people are oblivious, or most of them, anyways. Some particularly observant and curious folks have realized the truth, but most have not. That’s probably a good thing, anyways, because if they knew they were being fought over in an eternal war and that the winner would own them, well, they’d probably freak. Panicked humans are no fun to be around.
So yes, the Angels and Demons are fighting over you. So what’s the bad news, you ask. Well, let me tell you. The Angels are losing. Depending on your point of view, this could be good or bad. Most people are thinking uh-oh. (Or perhaps more like ‘AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH- We’re all going to Hell, the world is ending! Doom!’ in some cases.) And it is a big uh-oh, for everyone except the Demons (they’re parting their asses off down in Hades, if you’re curious); the Angels are pretty darn upset because they’re losing; the humans who know are hiding in corners or bomb shelters or something like that (like that’s going to protect them), and the Immortals are just getting stressed out.
You see, the sides are supposed to be equal. Well matched, balanced, just like everyone and everything else is for the universe to work. One side can be ahead for a little while, but for one to hold out for even two years is spectacular; the Demons have been winning for ten or twelve, and have been on the upward curve for around fifty. The universe would implode without balance (it already exploded, so it can’t do that again). That’s where the Immortals come in. We’re like the balancing factor of the universe, the twelve of us. We stop the universe from going ka-blooey.
As of right now, the demons have adopted a new stratagem; take out one section of the world at a time. They’ve focused in on one point, though defending the rest of their strongholds. It’s a small place, really, in the grand scheme of things. Providence, Rhode Island, United States of America, North America, Earth, Milky Way, the Universe (hopefully that covers the mailing address accurately) is the focus point of the fight at the moment. Of course, the Angels are fighting back, as best they can, but they’re weakened from previous struggles, and several of their strongholds are being bombarded. So, it looks pretty bad at the moment.
They all have day jobs, and walk among you, innocent looking, but really, they’re all trying to bend you to their will. Your best friend could be an Angel, your neighbor, a demon in disguise. And you never know, your boss could be an Immortal, trying to help even it out a bit.
So, folks, if you live in the smallest state, you’d better watch out. Try not to fall into the dark side; if you want to live, that is.
Sincerely,
Libitina Anne Lamorte Immortal of Death.
p.S. Please. Don’t panic.
