[[OOC: This is a letter to an NPC, but it is also the rest of Bianca's history. So ya, I hope it's alright that it's here. If not, I can move it to the Journal section. I just felt like being creative.]]
Katherina Manwathiel de Tivothel Aleanrae, Are you well? And your husband? Any children on the way yet? I think a little dear would do you a world of good. Just last week our old friend Gabriella had twins. Do you believe it? They are as healthy as could be. One boy, one girl, and they look just like their mother. Gregory and Daisy are their names. I wish I could send them with this letter, I am sure that they would bring a smile to your face. I do hope your keeping warm this winter. Here it has been mild enough. However, I heard from a young man traveling through that it was not the same further east. Do be sure to wear your warmest cloak. If there are to be any heirs then you must be in the best of health. You are so apt to a cold in any event. I hope your castle is not too drafty. With your taste, I’m sure you have a lovely tapestry upon every wall by now. Keep the fires lit, your husband is rich and can afford the extra wood and oil. How is the Countess? Did her problem with the Duke get resolved? I have been frightfully worried on her behalf; she is such a close friend of yours. I pray your husband will be persuaded to let her stay with you. I cannot imagine he is so heartless as to leave her out in the cold. To hell if he draws suspicious, it was he that chose you after all, and she is your choice of friend. In any event, she is in my thoughts with you, dear sister. Now I find myself coming to the crux of my letter. Dear sister, darling sister, I have news. I cannot tell you if it is fair or ill. Mother would say it is the most tragic news of the year. That is why I am writing you first. I wish to forewarn you before you hear her tragic side of the tale. On the other hand, I feel that this is a turning point in my life and that I shall soon be happier than I ever imagined I would be. Tomorrow night I will run away. The plans are set; there is nothing to stop me. Do you remember the stable boy next door who was always so fond of me? Well, he is going on business soon. I will be traveling with him so far as Enthir. There I hope to take advantage of the library and the intellectual atmosphere. I figure that if there was ever a place to run away too, Enthir would be the safest. Please do not panic or give me away. I am giving you my trust, dear sister. If you do tell Mother where I am then there is no hope. I will be stifled and suffocated by her. You know I have always longed for greater things. You should see the cow that Mother would marry me to. He has more warts on his face than I have fingers and toes. I would rather vomit than call him husband for a moment. I know you will let me go. I know you will not betray me. Katherina, thank you. Thank you for always being my sister through all these hardships. I fell the spirit fading from my words. I will write you just as soon as I have arrived in my new home. Bianca -------------------- |
