:D Funny and weird, and to a certain extent, how insulting. Damn, even my 7yrs old Sentra has RPM limiter lock; no choice, I install a timer brake-lock instead, on the 2nd day the car in our house.
Basically its a mini module that taps into your door trigger cable. Close the door, it will time a few secs(can't remember how many secs), then tap the brake and shift to D right ? That tap, will lock-up all the doors.
Simple & cheap solution, < 150 bucks, can't recall the exact figure, coz I did many other things. :P

as i know, cos they switch the prm lock to safety belt warning, i am looking for some expert shop to modify it for door lock.
njtt - January 22, 2010 07:01 PM (GMT)
today, i went to a acc shop than to put on a back camera for my car cos couldnt see the rear when reverse parking; and the guys propose to add light bulb for our door dimmer, luckily it was not too exspensive.

Bro,
Tell me abt it :P I bought this Sylphy for my wife to drive, didn't spot this "missing feature" when I test drove it; my nearly 7yrs old Sentra N16 1.8A has RPM auto door lock, and even my wife 7yrs old Sentra N16 1.5M also had the similiar feature. No idea why it is not retrofitted into this Sylphy KG11; weird, but true. Oh nvm, cheap fix anyway. :D

Refer to Autoworld MYsia website. KON (aka TheGunner in Nissan section) (URL : www.autotrade.com.my/forum - top menu, for "News"). reviewed both the standard edition Sylphy vs the IMPUL edition Sylphy (shodded with the 17" donuts). He claimed is too firm for daily drive, it seems.
Not sure if you are still running the stock 195/65/R15, if so, the ride quality should not suffer terribly by much. Just don't expect silky smooth riding on potholes ridden MYsia road condition.
Based on experience, with Eibach ProKit spring for Kelisa and Sentra N16, its a decent match for stock damper, and Nismo S-tune for Sentra N16 which I am running now, is hard (not to mention my super hard Michelin PP2). But, different objective.
Pretty much down to budget, and your objective. If you want good handling, you can literally forget about comfort (to a certain extent so to say). Give it a thought. If you are in Puchong, I can give you a ride in my Sentra with S-tune + PP2 (stock size 195/60/R15).
That's all I can say.

You mean the red reflector on the front door ? When I ripped out the door, I did notice its a pure reflector. Wiring is needed for power, and door trigger switch to activate a light bulb there. Looks to be a simple job, but I didn't bother to adopt it. Some other time when I'm free-er. :P

No modification, its a different switch. You just need another module, brake lock or RPM lock. Very simple job.

aceedburn - April 7, 2010 07:10 AM (GMT)
for those interested to fix the bulbs for the red door reflectors, the name of the shop in taman maluri, cheras is HK auto accesories, just behind public bank as mentioned above. the full adress is : 28, jalan jejaka 9, taman maluri, cheras and mr low, the owner is extremely friendly. just got mine fixed today and it makes a huge difference when u open your doors now, adds a touch of class. paid RM50 for both doors.
