Happened to me before too. Take to service centre and they will reprogram for free. Nowadays I change my keys every 6 months or do, i.e. use both keys.

done at sc today, technician open the spare key, take out a black color chip near the round battery, put in the car ignition and place another key (can start) looks like in learn mode. Settle in less than a minute and put back the black color chip. Done.

keehongchoon, when u say 'put in the car ignition and place another key (can start)', do u mean something like while the 'KO' key is in the ignition, the 'OK' key metal part touches the 'KO' key metal part is it?

do u need to start the engine or just listen to the 'tit tit' sound for it to learn??? hmmmm

I tried my spare key which has not been used for more than a year but everything is normal. I can use the spare key just like the old key. Strange ?

syl05-2010, if I am not wrong the steps as below :-

1) unscrew the NG key, remove the black metal chip (immobilizer?), close cover.
2) insert the NG key to ignition (turn on and off)
3) place ok key under the steering, press the buttons (learning?) while NG key still in ignition place.
4) start engine with NG key, result ok.
5) remove and unscrew NG key, put back the black metal chip & close cover.
6) final testing both keys, result ok.

the whole process step 2 to step 4 completed about 30 seconds.
no guarantee on the steps.... need to verify with pro more details.

tried my spare key after two years never use, no issue, looks like only some owner having such issue.
