Description: Time to change
dong101 - October 22, 2011 02:46 AM (GMT)
Time to change my ride tyres, but there are so many choice out there. Any recommendation? So what will be a good choice of tyres for Sylphy with original 15" rims?

Time to change the rims as well.. 15"s are just too small for the car. While for the tyres you can't go wrong wtih Bridgestone or Goodyear I guess. My recent survery went to Nexen though, with affordability as priority.

| Anyone tried Goodyear? |
I am using Goodyear Assurance 205/60/R15. Its a broad tyres but slight bulgy out of the rim but the comfort is there. The bulgy tire out of the rim gives me rim protection.
Aside from that, its nice and grippy during rain and silent. Tyres thread designs are similar any other branded models like michelin XM1 or Conti CC1.
Price also not that bad. I traded in my 4 fitted Yokohama for RM80 and got my new Goodyear A for RM800.00 for all 4 tires including balancing and allignment.
Bought at Ipoh Fair Park near the Ipoh Stadium. Its been 2 years since i am using this model. I plan to change next year to Michelin XM2 perhaps. It always been a good tyres for me.
hope this helps.

Finally settle for Michellin XM2. RM290/pc. First impression is that the handling improved over the stock Yokohama. And seem to be more quiet too. Or it is just my imagination?

I changed to Michelin XM2 as well yesterday. Got it for RM265.00 in Butterworth. The tires are WW36 year 2011 make. I find it very reasonable price.
Aside from that, I have used XM1 before and the new XM2 is superb. Very silent and fantastic road grip. All in all, it worth every single cent.

The price do vary. So its always better to survey several shops. Anyway the one in Jalan Baru is very good in tire Balancing and allignment. So good services within your allocated budget.

what size is your tire?
vprengan - January 4, 2012 01:06 AM (GMT)
I am using the OEM Size 195 R15 65. This would be the OEM fitted size. Believe me, it works good with this size.

Michelin Tyre has good grip and silent.
Is soft tyre, wear and tear will be faster.
Bridgestone can sustain longer period of time but this is subject to how we drive our car.

Me using Yokohama A-Drive 205/60/16 -traded my stock and paid only RM 700. So far happy with it.
