Had a problem with my aircon past 2 days. When I turn on the aircon at full blast, the blower will start to whirr loudly, since I wasn't really sure and my car under warranty, I sent back to TC service centre to check it out, scared blower problem. Since it was also time for my regular service (35k), I just sent in for them to check out the problem with my air con. I really should've checked the filter first. When I described the problem, they told me it's most probably just dirty or something inside the blower. since I need to go to work, i left my sylphy in their care. The damage: change aircon filter + "repair blower noise problem" = RM70 + RM50. They described the aircon filter as very dirty, even got bugs and leaves inside. Since the filter is clogged, the aircon is not getting enough air, resulting in the noise. Then the service guy asked me if I changed the air circulation to receiving outside air, which I did before. Then he said don't do that any more, as the air intake is very near to where the drainage from the windscreen and wiper, and all the dirt will go into the aircon filter!

So, 2 things to take note of: Don't change aircon circulation to outside air intake, and if possible, wash ur aircon filter from time to time. TC has scheduled for the filter to be changed at 45k, according to the service person, so mine has been changed too early :(

Just cleaned my filter today following the above instructions. Thank you for the clear instructions. My filter was very dusty with thick dust before
Cleaning. Now I can breathe cleaner air.
