if u r looking for extra security, try to look for something like this :ph43r:
TCAT:CONSTRUCT Anti Theft Gear Lockin this IT age, a person with a electronic know how can bypass the electronics easily, at least they will have to deal with this but then anything & everything is hackable :o

yup, very expensive & in KL only summore(i think), i don't think TCEAS install this for u, <_< but if you compare to your 100k+ ride, imo, i think it is reasonable IF u wanted the extra peace of mind.
below RM200(or maybe ~RM100) u can get something install directly near the steering column but that will be visible..... :P

First saw the Construct gear lock in Eneos. Don't remember the price but I doubt it's any cheaper than in TCES.
I've opted for McPedal lock from kedai Abang for my ride. They have 2 versions, one with ignition immobiliser/circuit breaker and another without. Price is about 350 & 220 respectively if I recall it correctly. It's cheaper than the Thai made Locktech. Besides, the last I check, Locktech don't have one for Sylphy. :P

I hv TCAT:CONSTRUCT Anti Theft Gear Lock installed in my car and it fits perfectly.
Electronic alarm can be bypassed easily and the same goes to house alarm. Steering lock is of no use as robber can cut the steering wheel off.
At RM899 for slyphy, the price is acceptable to me considering i paying RM114.8k for this car.
B)

I installed Locktech pedal lock for Sylphy at only RM340 about 2 months ago at an accessory shop in SS5, Kelana Jaya. It's probably the best for the sylphy and has a double lock feature which requires 2 unlocking options. Fits perfectly for our Sylphy and not intrusive at all. Virtually unbreakable. The key also cannot be duplicated, therefore it comes with 3 keys. It also immobilizes your car, i.e. you cannot start if the pedal is locked. Made in Thailand and very good quality.

I found a site with some pics of locktech:-
http://forum.myviclub.com/lofiversion/inde...t14566-100.htmlLocktech locks the break padel whereas Construct locks the gear shift.
In my opinion, Construct is better cos it is all hidden [thou more expensive] whereas locktech is somehow expose and during car accident, it may be pushed foreward harming our legs.
For me, its worth it cos its lifetime and maintainence free!

i also install construct anti-theft lock as well. very easy and convince for me. i also think very costly at first, it cost rm 799.00 . i compare with other lock like streeing lock , anyone also can try to cut the streeing damn fast ..i know it cheap, but my carr can lost any time. any pedal lock my friend install and lost ..ii dun think it useful..and costs rm 400. if like tht i better buy construct under tan chong warranty and fully imported from europe. i saw in yutube construct using liquid nitorgen . BUt cannot break ...Maybe u guys can seach at yutube ....really import frrom eurrope and undertanchong as well..
Hope that this helpful to the people who want to buy anti theft lock..

I heard there was a case where a honda civic was stolen in oug, old klang road during day time. Another case was also a honda civic stolen in a condo.
well, honda civic has cobra alarm [i think] but does it work?
nowadays, thief can bypass electronic alarm system; i.e. the same for house alarm system.
for me, the best is still manual lock like construct.
i really feel safe with it whenever i park my car.
FYI the std car alarm system of our Slyphy is not very tip top too.......

mine also install locktech made from Thaipand as well, RM350 with the feature of not able to start the car if it is lock.
Locktach model for sylphy is exactly same model as grand livina.
