I gots to say, the most formidable cult film I've ever seen (and Slayer can back me up on this one) is The Warriors. Not critically acclaimed in any way whatsoever, but man if it ain't one hell of a movie. Some damn classic characters (Ajax being my personal favourite), smooth cinematics, great-ass quotes, and a shytload of behind-the-scenes stories. For example, the actor playing the Fox was acting like a jerkoff and walked off the set. Fox was scripted to be in the whole movie, but instead director Walter Hill decided to throw him in front of a train and kill him off. And ever wondered why they threw a jacket on Mercy? She broke her arm in a previous scene so they used it to cover up the cast. Fuckin' eh!

The crow is my favourite cult film after Battle Royale. It is just fucking brilliant, everything about it rocks, it's so good I well up every time I watch it. Same goes for Braveheart, though I hardly think that constitutes ad cult.

^_^ The Crow was an 80's comic before the movie.

Yeah, and bread started out as wheat, but I won't eat the stuff.

What I basically mean is I tried reading the comics and hated them, as with Lord of The Rings, the movie is superior to the book/comic.

that is where your wrong, mostly any movie that came from a book or comic is shit, apart from the crow, the movie was fuckin awsome but then again so was the comic, or fight club, just some movies are easier to translate to a movie and just generally more liked by the director i dont know, you get directors who just want to make money and put the hulk in a film, and theyve got millions out of it.

i do realise this makes no sense

Re-read what I said, I only stated two cases, I will agree in most cases the book is superior, funny you should mention fight club, because I loved that movie until I read the book, now I think the movie is shit but the book is the greatest thing mankind has ever acomplished.

In my opinion there are only three major cases where the movie beat the book: LOTR, The Crow and Trainspotting (and I am an Irvine Whelsh fan, but Trainspotting is by no means his best work).

I thought the LOTR movie was crap, the only thing they did better then the books was to remove Tom friggin Bombadil.

oh other cult movies I like: Anything by Takashi Miike.

Wild Zero

Goodness, that film was shit.

Ummm... I don't really know what a 'cult film' is. But I just re-watched Happiness of the Katakuris again today and I love it just as much. So awesome XDDD

And Old Boy. That's a goooood film.
