Slayer - April 29, 2006 02:36 AM (GMT)
I'm sure the others appreciate your spirit, but we already have someone working on the soundtrack, have for a while.

Kuze - April 29, 2006 02:53 AM (GMT)
And this is why you read back threads, OR use the very underused SEARCH button.

Sephy - April 29, 2006 11:37 AM (GMT)
What happened to that person working on the SOTf soundtrack anyway? haven't heard anything about that for months.

and boys, I thought girls were sposed to be the bitchy ones.

d0ddi0slave - April 29, 2006 01:05 PM (GMT)
C'mon, guys, there's nothing wrong with contributions from other people. Jeez.

Swoosh - April 29, 2006 02:51 PM (GMT)
I second what Adam's said. Come on guys, Jesus. I, for one, am very interested to hear what this theme song sounds like!

Sephy - April 29, 2006 03:20 PM (GMT)
I hope you'e not including me in the "guys" that are getting told off, I was telling them off too! *anime chibi eyes*

mitsuko2 - April 29, 2006 06:08 PM (GMT)
well i dont have a tune to it yet but I do have the lyrics pm me to get them :D

Sephy - April 29, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
Couldn't you just post the lyrics in this thread?

mitsuko2 - April 29, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Verse 1:
'Memories flash like sharpened steel,
enough to hate but not enough to feel (no emotion)

Numbing heat though incompleate,
is still enough to make it real (will I live)

Choices clash like warring hoards,
a life untuned breeds thoughts like screeching chords

A rolling head though left for dead,
can still draw our swords

Bridge:
Hatred will consume (my life)

Everything I am (I was)

Harken to my doom,
knowing I am dammened

Chorus:
Hate me, hate me,
just like I hate you

Help me lose you in the lie

Take me, break me,
help me be like you

It's Survival Of The Fittest, so I won't die.

Verse 2:
Bodies crash upon the ground,
and bloodied fingers make no sound

The blood is fresh from torn flesh,
I hear the tortured screams resound

Am I trash, a willing slave

A fool departed from it's grave

Ignoring screams to find my dreams,
to find the freedom that I crave

Chorus:
Hate me, hate me,
just like I hate you

Help me lose you in the lie

Take me, break me,
help me be like you

It's Survival Of The Fittest, so I won't die.

Sephy - April 29, 2006 09:17 PM (GMT)
XD that's got more angst then the average X-Japan song. Great, now I imagine Toshi singing that in my head...

Megami - April 29, 2006 09:50 PM (GMT)
I like it, Mitsuko. Very creative.

Last I heard, he was working on some songs but couldn't send any by mail due to his mailing system having some errors. As to the song, it seems a bit Gothic, but it might fit with a good tune.

Sephy - April 30, 2006 01:02 AM (GMT)
I can't even read the lyrics to that song anymore, whenever I try Art of Life pops up in my head :P

Then again Art of Life would be a kickass themetune *drools over Yoshiki's amazing piano skills*

guitarjack87 - April 30, 2006 04:56 PM (GMT)
1. This thread does not need to turn in to a J-Rock love thread

2. Theme. Theme. Theme. Theme.

3. Decent lyrics btw.

mitsuko2 - April 30, 2006 05:57 PM (GMT)
(takes a bow) this was written while I read Madaline's death so... ya.

Kaishi - April 30, 2006 06:05 PM (GMT)
Nice, nice. PM or email the song to me, please~. Unless, you'd be comfortable with uploading it to MegaUpload and allowing everyone access in a post to this thread?

I'd comment about what went on in page one, but it seems Adam and Swoosh have already handled it. :P

mitsuko2 - April 30, 2006 06:07 PM (GMT)
sorry kaishi but I have no tune for it :( (cries)

Every thread needs turning into a Jrock love thread :P

Seriously tho, i think those lyrics would be good sung by someone who sounds like Toshi and give an Art of Life-ish backing (obviously it'd have to be a lot shorter then Art of Life tho)

Queen Asshat - April 30, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
The SOTF Theme song should always and forever be Journey's Don't Stop Believin'! Seriously how can I work with such charlatans! :P

guitarjack87 - April 30, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
No, it should be Bringin on the Heartache, by Def leppard.

Sephy - May 1, 2006 11:03 AM (GMT)
WE could argue about this till doomsday with all our varied musical tastes :P

I don't think the actual song Art of Life would make a good SOTF theme tune because it's just too long and too poetic.

LadyMakaze - May 1, 2006 03:01 PM (GMT)
*claps at Mitsuko* Very nice very nice! :o Now we just need someone to arrange chords for it. *looks around at potential musicians with a scrutinizing eye*

Kaishi - May 1, 2006 09:31 PM (GMT)
Can you sing it into a mic and upload that at the very least, Mitsuko? I want to hear it in song. :(

mitsuko2 - May 1, 2006 10:02 PM (GMT)
I'm so very sorry. I don't have a mic. :( :(

Kaishi - May 1, 2006 10:26 PM (GMT)

...Okay. -_-
I give up on you then. :P No, but, really, it's okay. Don't worry about it.

Anyone else care to sing it please?

Lien - May 1, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
I can think about... maybe trying to get some kind of orchestral instrumentals in there, if only to accentuate the vocals, no real melody if people are looking for a different feel to it. I've got some experience in Music theory, and have a violinist friend who is crazy-good ( I've played since 5th grade, but this guy pwns me badly).

By the way... I'm saddened that my ex got to meet Coheed and Cambria because he won a contest... but his neighbor and supposedly close friend wasn't even invited. He brought all the popular "perdy" girls. Lame....

Done with RL rant, and yeah, just let me know if you guys want me to check into instrumentals.

mitsuko2 - May 2, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
Lein that would be awesome thanks :D

guitarjack87 - May 2, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
im a decent singer

Minase - June 5, 2006 03:20 PM (GMT)
Hadn't seen this until now so I didn't mention, I play synth. I could come up with just about any arrangement you want for this, piano, orchestral, you name it I can do it on my keyboard. Unfortunately it's only a cheap model, but it is the best you can get for 200 squid and I am not bad when it comes to using it either ;)

Mitsuko it's your song so I would need your help, and Lien you seem to know what you're doing musically as well so I mean if you wanted to get this started as a proper project that would be cool.

Anyway thats my offer.

mitsuko2 - June 5, 2006 05:43 PM (GMT)
Ya that's awesome! I'll help in any way I can! Thanks a lot! ;) :D

Minase - June 5, 2006 06:05 PM (GMT)
Well I have some ideas but what kind of style did you want for this piece.

I'm open to just about anything personally, but I would'nt want to start putting something together without everyone else putting their imput forward so we can decide exactly what we want this thing to be.

mitsuko2 - June 5, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
like a kind of Gothy alternative rock song

Minase - June 5, 2006 06:28 PM (GMT)
I'm glad you said gothy becuase I like working with strings and choirs best, also what are with going with on vocals, male or female, clean or distorted, classical or popular?

mitsuko2 - June 5, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
Female, definately.

ummm probobaly clean

popular is a must

laZardo - July 16, 2006 02:05 PM (GMT)
I'm thinking "Beware" by Big Pun. Gotta be open to all genres...

Lyrics include:

I'm born to kill and still thrilled, I put it on you
There's no regrets, remorse only results in loneliness
Only the strong survive, we strive through life as warriors
All of us die, some of us kill, even massacre
Who wanna try? Punisher will if you ask for it
I'm hazardous for your health and hell's your next stop
For real my shit's cocked the world has just stopped...

Cycokiller - July 17, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
I had to mention this...the band kinda sucks but the song was good and look at the lyrics! Now that is creepy.

Papa Roach: Bloodbrothers

Watch your back because the next man is comin'
And you don't know if the next man is dumbin'
Survival of the fittest what it is
I got yo back, you got my back, and that's the biz
Blood is rushing through my veins, I got the power
Channel the energy, and with my strength I will devour
Sickening thoughts are running through my head
Thats when I realize I'm glad im not dead

Corruption and abuse, the salesman of our blood
For the public's craving, existence in the dark

It's in our nature to destroy ourselves
It's in our nature to kill ourselves
It's in our nature to kill each other
It's in our nature to kill, kill, kill

It was a dream and then it hit me, reality struck
And now my life is all shifty and it all moves fast
Close to the buck 50, and we all stand strong
In respect to the family in the times of our insanity
And in the words of profanity, I describe our dysfunctional family
Blood brothers keep it real to the end, deeper than the thoughts that you think?
Not a trend!

Corruption and abuse, the salesman of our blood
For the public's craving, existence in the dark

It's in our nature to destroy ourselves
It's in our nature to kill ourselves
It's in our nature to kill each other
It's in our nature to kill, kill, kill

Again and again ...

Corruption and abuse, the salesman of our blood
For the public's craving, existence in the dark

It's in our nature to destroy ourselves
It's in our nature to kill ourselves
It's in our nature to kill each other
It's in our nature to KILL, KILL, KILL!!!!

It's in our nature to destroy ourselves
It's in our nature to kill ourselves
It's in our nature to kill each other
It's in our nature to kill ...

Xaldien - July 18, 2006 02:01 AM (GMT)
I think that a good theme song for SOTF would be "10th Man Down" by Nightwish.

Today I killed, he was just a boy
Eight before him, I knew them all
In the fields a dying oath:
Id kill them all to save my own

Cut me free, Bleed with me, Oh no
One by one, We will fall, down down
Pull the plug, End the pain, Run'n fight for life
Hold on tight, this aint my fight

Deliver me from this war
Its not for me its because of you
Devils instant my eternity
Obey to kill to save yourself

Cut me free, Bleed with me, Oh no
One by one, We will fall, down down
Pull the plug, End the pain, Run'n fight for life
Hold on tight, this aint my fight

d0ddi0slave - July 18, 2006 03:33 AM (GMT)
I dunno, I was thinking about it - probably "Animal I've Become" by Three Days Grace.

Most songs on their new CD seem to work...*shrug*

Cycokiller - July 18, 2006 04:24 AM (GMT)
A couple songs that I somehow always associate with SOTF are as follows, and I encourage anyone to give 'em a listen and remark on their SOTFity.

Alexisonfire: Little Girls Pointing and Laughing
Living Sacrifice: Local Vengeance Killing
Poison the Well: Nerdy
Thrice: For Miles

The last one especially. I'm serious, at the point near the end of the song when the guy is singing really softly and then WHAM! abruptly everything becomes really heavy, I swear it fits perfectly with the mental image of innocent children being put on an island and having to kill eachother. Plus it's a pretty song, so if you want dl it if only for one listen.
