Title: Your plans for v2
Description: Because were here to listen

Bloody_Fists - January 13, 2006 10:50 PM (GMT)
As advised i've made a thread for us to converse about our v2 plans, From what characters you have, to what you'd like to see in v2.

Swoosh - January 14, 2006 12:15 AM (GMT)
Unless something about the application screams otherwise, I'm going to use v2 as a way to vent out my hatred for all alpha males. *laughs* I've only really got one idea and it's quite vague, also I intend for him to die quite early on.

Slayer - January 14, 2006 12:22 AM (GMT)
I've already got my two main characters planned. Even know which one's gonna play the game.

Queen Asshat - January 14, 2006 01:02 AM (GMT)
I have two characters planned although I plan for one of them to be my first chracters (shotgunner) first kill. If anyone really wants to see it... I already have the full profile and when v2 comes around I will change what is needed to be changed.

LadyMakaze - January 14, 2006 03:55 AM (GMT)
I've got three characters planned already, with one being the flagship. Two of them have been 'introduced' already on the forums, but I'm sure a few other people know about the third. All three are more or less 'eccentric' to a certain degree, so watch out when you meet them. :P

d0ddi0slave - January 14, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
I've got one of my characters fully planned, with two others in development stages.

Bloody_Fists - January 14, 2006 05:44 PM (GMT)
Well ive got my flag ship character planned out, and i also plan to have a couple of short profiles just to get them killed off early, not everyone can last right?

I was also thinking it would be cool if it was set in a pison. Theres alot of places you could for example:

Showers
Deathrow cells
Execution chambers
courtyard
security gaurd offices
corridors
basement
the roof

Albel Nox - January 14, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
Hey a Prison does sound really cool. Or maybe an old abandoned Insane Sylum!!!(sp?)

Queen Asshat - January 15, 2006 01:46 AM (GMT)
An intresting idea, changing from the open spaces of the island to the close quarters of a prison (if so I just picked an awesome weapon for the situation. I however doubt that would happen.

LadyMakaze - January 15, 2006 02:22 AM (GMT)
Despite going against BR tradition, it would definately fit the rather dark, morbid atmosphere. It would be especially interesting to see how the players make use of certain conveniences such as the fire escapes, elevators, powerboxes, and ventilation system. Ahhh, Clock tower 3 memories abound...

Of course, where SOTFv2 is staged is totally up to Kaishi, so I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up ^^;;

On a side note, the original novel BR stated that in prefectures where islands weren't easily accessable, the game would take place in the mountains in areas enclosed by electric fences.

d0ddi0slave - January 15, 2006 02:39 AM (GMT)
It'd have to be one MASSIVE complex though...just because with islands there're tons of unused space. If you're doing it in close quarters, well...then it's going to be different.

I'll have to reread the book, but didn't it say where the Program was held depend on the prefecture and that only the ones near the Seto Inland Sea were on islands?

Bloody_Fists - January 15, 2006 11:16 AM (GMT)
it could be on a massive high security island orison like alkatraz is it? and instead of three terrorists we could have three prisinors? lol

Sephy - January 15, 2006 12:07 PM (GMT)
A prison setting sounds pretty cool...especially if they have workin electric chairs and stuff..that wuold make for some...interesting death posts

Excuse me if prisons don't have electric chairs...but the only death sentance prison i've seen is on "the Green Mile" . Over here prisons are quite nice..if Bad Girls and Porridge are anything to go by xD

I think she meant when they were referring to Kawada's game or previous games.

And hmmm, a prison would be pretty nifty. For some reason I'm reminded of the Hole. That was a good film XDD

Megami - January 15, 2006 05:38 PM (GMT)
Well, if we used a prison, you'd have to keep in mind that the character's mobility would greatly decrease.

For example, if they were going from the showers to the cells, they would have to pass through the same hallway where another group may be standing. You don't have as much maneuverability because you're in an enclosed space as opposed to the outdoors.

Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Means more encounters, potentially. Anyway, yeah, it's a nice idea. It's definitely a change from the norm.

ZigZaggerty - January 16, 2006 10:01 AM (GMT)
I discovered this board about a week ago and since then I've been waiting for a chance to get in, so v2 looks like that chance. I have a character planned out and everything.

Bloody_Fists - January 16, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
Always good to see new talent appearing. i suppose you could rp in the 'other rp' section?

ZigZaggerty - January 16, 2006 11:31 PM (GMT)
I guess I could, I'm an avid Roleplayer. I've been RPing on one board for over a year, and have delved into a few other ones. I'm also familiar with the Battle Royale series, never having seen the movie, but read the synopsis and reading the manga a few times I have a basic idea of what to expect. I've read all the rules and guidelines and am ready to get to it.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. A prison kind of place seems a bit too cramped. Maybe a Prison island sort of thing, but not a small prison. The mountains sound good too, but the weather would be quite harsh! But I can't help but see a final showdown area like a field with snow slowly falling all around. I myself would vote for a skyscraper, with mulitple floors. Like large banquet halls and gardens, and the roof could be a large dome area made of glass, and at the final showdown the glass could break and a gentle snowfall could be seen all around.

Every dramatic scene is better with a gentle snowfall.

I prefer rain and thunder myself, but its Kai's choice, not ours.

guitarjack87 - January 17, 2006 05:20 AM (GMT)
Remember the underground base in the snowy level of goldeneye? with like the big control towers? that would be a cool place to roleplay

Or like the 'Lost' island, with the ship and the hatch and stuff.

Bloody_Fists - January 17, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
An prison island is exactly what i meant, If youve played the game 'the suffering' you'd know how cool an prison island could be.

Albel Nox - January 17, 2006 05:51 PM (GMT)
That would be so kick ass!!! The suffering was awesome!!!

guitarjack87 - January 17, 2006 08:34 PM (GMT)
I have my flagship ready, and also an interesting bad guy type that might or might not end up as my flagship depending on how everyone else responds.

Oh man, ain't that ever the truth, you KNOW a fight scene's gonna be good when it's got gentle snowfall! Welcome to the boards Master_Mind!

Bloody_Fists - January 18, 2006 10:36 AM (GMT)
Yeah the snowfall was ok in house of flying daggers, but im agreeing with slayer on this one, Thunder and rain ARE better than any crappy fluffywhite snow fall.

Yeah, that would be a good thing, tricky to run, but adding another level of realism.

I for the second version I will definately have two characters running; my usual tactic is to pinch minor characters who die half-way through a book, and transfer them to America and develope them. Sure I can think of at least three.

Snowfall vs thunder? Depends on the kind of fight; for ones like HOFD where the fighters are evenly matched, but still compelled to fight on as long as they've got the strength, snowfall is better. Dramatic, first-one-then-the-other fights like Matrix Revolutions are better with rain.

Sephy - January 18, 2006 03:15 PM (GMT)
I find the whole snowfall/ thunder thing horrible cliche and over dramatic, when it's used in a film I usually think "hmm, the filmmakers have no ideas how to make this scene more original so they're just gonna use prophetic fallacy, c'mon guys, shakespeare used that trick, think of something new" <_<

Just my opinion, don't hate me....uh look there! :ph43r: *uses super 1337 kage powers to vanish*

Friendly Ghost - January 18, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
Pathetic fallacy, and it certainly is pathetic sometimes, but the ending of Seven Samurai would be unimaginable without the rain and mud.

Bloody_Fists - January 19, 2006 10:38 PM (GMT)
So i just finished my flagship character for v2 out of boredom. Fun to write and different to what i tohught it would be.

Megami - January 20, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
I've completely finished my first two (a couple, in case anyone is interested), and I've written a few other profiles, just toying with character ideas.

Anyone planning any "baddie" characters?

ZigZaggerty - January 20, 2006 02:36 AM (GMT)
I have three characters planned:
~An Alpha Male
~A shy long hair bookwork
~A psycho bitch

Alpha Male: All around good guy and liked by everyone, wants to protect those around him but will do what he has to do to do so. (Jebus, try saying that ten times fast!)
Shy Bookwork: A shy girl with flowing long brown hair, has extreme smarts. She is mostly afraid to do anything but follow.
Psycho Bitch: Abused and molested as a child, also raped. Witnessed real parents die in a train crash. Intense psychological harm, megolomaniac, extremely hot and sexy. Deadly to all, introduction to SoTF has made he finally snap.

That's what I have planned, will have more on them once v2 rolls around!

Megami - January 20, 2006 02:46 AM (GMT)
Of the first three I've planned out, I have the couple and then a somewhat... unusual character. My couple's kind of interesting, they're sort of stereotypical characters with a lot of depth behind them. My girl's a cheerleader and a "popular girl" on the outside but has this whole backstory about being pushed into being what she is, so to speak. The guy is a newcomer to town who joined the baseball team trying to fit in but isn't much more than a bench warmer.

And my other girl, well, she's based off a friend. She's a whiney, overweight, overdramatic, hypochondriac black girl. Cause... yeah... SOTF has never had one. Booyah. ^_^

d0ddi0slave - January 20, 2006 05:13 AM (GMT)
I've got three characters planned.

One is somewhat of a charismatic, popular loner-type, who has lots of aquaintances but few real friends. The ones he does keep, he keeps close to him, and usually when he's angry he conveys it through his humourous nature. He's my v2 flagship character, I think.

One of the others is a panicky, energetic kind of guy. He's a nice guy, but he's very bad under pressure and is far too hard on himself. He's pretty popular and good friends with the first one, but he's been known to make enemies thanks to his occasionally loose mouth. Somewhat like Hudson from Aliens.

The third is the girl I previewed in the Other RPs forum.

Hard to describe my characters...

Bloody_Fists - January 20, 2006 03:34 PM (GMT)
My flagship guy, is a moboster type, gangleader, dark and brooding type. He should be good so yeah...
So yeah he will be a baddie. He's kind of the alpha male opposite of Master_Minds guy

Im going to make a load more profiles, It will be very easy to write since as tgheir going to be base doff my friends.

Sephy - January 20, 2006 04:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I think I meant pathetic, it's the way our English teacher pronounces it, always makes me confused *blush*

Swoosh - January 20, 2006 04:53 PM (GMT)
The only one I've got fully planned out is a stereotypical jock type, as in stereotypical down to every last detail. I'm gonna have some fun with that one, let me tell you. Has anyone got someone that this person could have gone out with in the past?

Seriously. I'm gonna use this character to express all the things I actually loathe about guys. Good times.

Queen Asshat - January 20, 2006 10:35 PM (GMT)
Name: Jonathan Michaels

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Grade: 10th

Extra Curricular Activity: Jonathan Michaels is the former featherweight champion of the world. Although boxing takes up a lot of his time Jonathan is embarrassed to say that he also writes a lot of short stories.

School: Unknown as of yet.

Appearance: Jonathan stand at 5’3” and although he is short he has a very muscular frame. His emerald eyes contrast his light brown hair that goes just past his eyes. At the time of the crash Jonathan had a black hoodie, dark blue jeans, and black converse.

Biography: Jonathan Michaels, girl’s lust after him and young boys wish to emulate his athletic prowess. Born on September 1st, 1988 Jonathan has overcome the odds since he was born. Jonathan was born one and a half months premature and the doctors said that he wouldn’t survive his first year of life. Jonathan was rebellious even at birth, and he survived his first twelve months in near perfect health.

Like most premature babies Jonathan was very small and had trouble keeping up with his five brothers and sisters, when he was seven years old he participated in a boxing class at the YMCA and fell in love with the sport. By the time he was eleven he had won the nationals in the 70-80 lbs division and when he was fourteen he went pro. It was in his eighth grade year that Jonathan stopped going to public schools.

Jonathan struggled his first year of going pro and at the end of his first year he was ranked in the top thirty, and even though he was young he didn’t want to accept that. In his second year of pro boxing Jonathan started with a bang and went undefeated through out the whole year… on his sixteenth birthday Jonathan was fighting for the Featherweight championship. Jonathan won in a third round knockout against a thirty-year old man.

Celebration ensued and Jonathan ended up going on a binge of cocaine, vodka, and LSD that lasted for three months. At the end of this celebration Jonathan was passed out due to alcohol poisoning (and the fact that he ran into a car that he thought was Jesus). Not knowing what to do his parents enrolled him in NA and sent him back to public schools, weather or not he will be able to defend his title this year is unknown but his parents are quick to say that Jonathan’s health comes first.

At school he had a tough time keeping clean due to a boy named Brad Wilson who was an amateur dealer of sorts and knew (like most of the kids in the world) that Jonathan was rich and had a drug problem, Brad made it his personal goal to make Jonathan a permanent customer of his.

Other: Jonathan is a master of hand to hand combat since due to the fact that he fights for a living, however he is known for always having drugs on him even if he is currently five weeks clean, so his habits could come to haunt him or make him numb enough so the competition doesn’t affect him.

Number: Boy 1

Weapon: Some sort of Shotgun

NOTE: EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE!

Okay, so here is the infamous druggie you all have been hearing about... I figured that I'd show you since I am not one for being secretive.

My second character is the hook up for the school and is none other than Brad Wislon... a twist I have is that Brad's father was the one responsible for Vince Samsa's mothers death... he reminds me a bit of Slayers Antonio in this current SOTF.

ZigZaggerty - January 21, 2006 03:15 AM (GMT)
Name: Jonah Matthews

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Grade: 10th

Extra Curricular Activity: Member of the Student Council, member of the computer club, and Captain of the Basketball team.

School: Unknown

Appearance: Jonah stands at 6'0" tall, being known for being one of the tallest kids in the school. Has short wavy black hair that accentuate his piercing green eyes. Wears glasses, of the circle lens variety. Skinny with slight muscle, but much stronger than he looks. At the time of the crash Jonah was wearing a white t-shirt and black button up shirt, black baggy cargo pants, black fingerless gloves, and black sneakers. Also has a grey shoulder bag with a green laptop inside.

Biography: Jonah Matthews, one of the most well known kids in the school. Kind and generous to everyone, but tough when the need arises. Always reaching out to the community and volunteering to make his town a better place. Never heard of him? You will. Has many friends around the school and is always introducing people to one another.

Born on October 15th, 1988 to Natasha Matthews. The father walked out during the fifth month of pregnancy and left Natasha to care for Jonah alone. She was a police officer and inspires Jonah to be a better person to everyone. He was lucky enough to begin shooting as a past time at a young age. Always practicing at the shooting range in his free time.

During his first year of high school he was introduced to the computer club and fell in love with the machines and began to carry a laptop with him at all times. Was quickly nominated to become a member of the Student Council and gladly accepted. Afterwords he joined the Basketball team and quickly climbed the ranks and became the captain.

Other: Has skills in the use of various hand guns and knowledge in advanced computing. Since the crash has been using his laptop to try and find a way out of the program and to deactivate the collars, but within safe boundaries

Number: Boy 2

Weapon: .357 Magnum

Note: Everything is subject to change!

This is the alpha male character I told you about, hope you like!

Kaishi - January 21, 2006 07:17 AM (GMT)
You can't pick your weapon. The only reason why Slacker got to pick is because he "won" a competition. All weapons are chosen randomly via dice roll.
