((Coming from Chillin' at the Waterfall))
Her heavy breathing caused her to stop. She didn't know if she was far enough away, but she knew she couldn't carry on any more without any rest. Umi dropped to her knees, grasping them tightly enough to make her knuckles white.
In her left hand (she had grabbed a hold of it subconsciously) was Gabrielle's weapon.

((Coming from: Chillin' at the Waterfall))
Daisuke stopped beside Umi, quickly looking around, hoping there were no others, he quickly checked his map to make sure they weren't near a danger zone "...doesn't look like there's anyone else around"
Lien - July 13, 2005 06:29 PM (GMT)
"Yeah, well, they probably all ran to the gunshot!" She snapped back as she noticed the gun in her hand.
Sephy - July 13, 2005 06:36 PM (GMT)
"and what were you planning to do? Talk him to death?"
Lien - July 13, 2005 06:38 PM (GMT)
"I don't know..." she said, he breaths coming out normal once again.
What would you have done? The guy lost it, he probably would've killed us....
"Look, let's not worry about it now. We need to wait for the next announcement before we do anything else."
Sephy - July 13, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
Daisuke sat down next to Umi, looking from her to Aiden..."ano...gomen" he blinked as he realised he'd slipped into Japanese, something he sometimes did when under stress "I mean i'm sorry..I didn't mean to...I..lost control back there"
Lien - July 13, 2005 07:02 PM (GMT)
She stuffed her small gun in her bag, taking the MAC-10 for her primary one. It had no extra bullets, but it was already fully loaded. She checked it closely, and noticed a spot of blood. She shuddered.
"I guess it's not entirely your fault," Umi said shakily, "He... he was lost, gone."
Sephy - July 13, 2005 07:05 PM (GMT)
"...." ~I hope I don't lose it like that~ Daisuke prayed silently, he didn't want to hurt his friends...but he wouldn't be able to control himself if It happened again
Lien - July 13, 2005 07:22 PM (GMT)
Umi had some re-thinking to do. This whole game was something so surreal she hadn't fully conceived this whole ordeal the right way.
Perhaps they should find a way to escape. Or maybe they should just end it. She knew she didn't want to end up like Minase. Or anyone else who was going to die in this game.
Sephy - July 13, 2005 07:32 PM (GMT)
" whats the point of playing this game? its not like you win, they keep pumping mroe and more ocntestants in until one of them kills you..." he laughed, but there was no humour in it "worlds longest snuff movie.."
Lien - July 13, 2005 07:33 PM (GMT)
Umi said it blatantly. It was on her mind anyway.
"We're going to take this son of a bitch down."
Sephy - July 13, 2005 07:37 PM (GMT)
"you read my mind" he grinned "guess the only problem is..how"
Lien - July 13, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
Umi nodded, "How without them finding out about it. The probably think it's futile with the cameras around and everything. So... how do we communicate?"
Sephy - July 13, 2005 07:42 PM (GMT)
"well unless you two both speak Japanese or Korean..I don't think we can communicate" he sighed, remembering again that the cameras and mics were capturing thier every move
Lien - July 13, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
Umi chuckled before answering.
"Would've been probable if I had lived with my mother, but I never talked with her. I'm pretty much raised white. Any other way?"
Sephy - July 13, 2005 07:46 PM (GMT)
"ano....I'm guessing they have cameras in the collars or something..so whisperings no good... and unless we wrote really tiny the camera's pick it up..." It seemed like there was no way out, but Dai refused ot admit that "there has to be someway, nothing is a foolproof system"
Lien - July 13, 2005 07:50 PM (GMT)
"Too bad we didn't know each other before this... maybe if we were close we could have made a written language no one could read. You think... maybe someone from your school is here? Someone who knows Japanese?"
She racked her brain for some way they could fool the bastards.
Sephy - July 13, 2005 07:52 PM (GMT)
Daisuke shrugged "I dunno...besides 90% of boys from my school would be playing the game...I come from Shisei High, official school for geniuses and weirdos..."
Lien - July 13, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
Umi smacked the ground with her fist, hearing a bone slightly crack. The pain only lasted for a second, she figured nothing else would come of it. Frustration like this had to drive someone insane.
"The next announcement...people will know. What do we do? Everyone will think our group is a threat."
Sephy - July 13, 2005 09:08 PM (GMT)
"I'm sorry...I..maybe it'd be best if I seperated from the group...then i'm not a danger to you and Aiden" he didn't want to leave the others..but he knew that if he stayed wiht them they'd all be in danger
Lien - July 13, 2005 09:11 PM (GMT)
"You might prove to be helpful," she said, not wanting him to go, "they might be too afraid to try to get us."
She touched his hand as a friendly gesture, "We're together at this until the end."
Sephy - July 13, 2005 09:15 PM (GMT)
Daisuke smiled gratefully..~together until the ned....sounds good~ he nodded his agreement "you're right, we're not gonna let these bastards break us up and play thier sick game, we'll figure our way out of this, even if I have to break every fucking camera on this island"
Lien - July 13, 2005 09:18 PM (GMT)
Umi let out a laugh. "You might very well have to."
She stood, holding the MAC-10, and looked over the point. They could see everything here.
Sephy - July 13, 2005 09:21 PM (GMT)
He laughed too "nothin' like a bit of random property destruction now an' then" A certain part of Dai's pyche kept trying to remind he that he had jsut shot someone, and that most normal people in his position would be in a foetal position on the floor, he was trying to ignore the voice and push it to he back of his mind
Lien - July 13, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
"Someone should keep watch now, this place is perfect to see anyone coming. We'll make sure to take shifts."
She held tight to her weapon.
Sephy - July 13, 2005 09:27 PM (GMT)
"you're right...hmm if we yelled from hear, the whole island might be able to hear us..." Daisuke wasn't stupid enuogh to try anything, there were probably others like the one they'd met at the hosptial, and Minase, others who were playing..still it would be a good place to contact everyone from if they somehow managed to bring the system down ~heh, isn't this what you wanted all your life Die? A chance to take on the system?~
Lien - July 13, 2005 09:30 PM (GMT)
"Then, perhaps we should keep our voices down," she said.
Sephy - July 13, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
Dai rolled his eyes..."maybe...or maybe we should scream real loud and tell everyone to smash all the cmeras...I know I know...stupid plan"
Lien - July 13, 2005 09:38 PM (GMT)
Umi nodded, "Yeah, just a bit."
She looked around. No one seemed to be coming.
"I'll take first shift."

That was the very first thing on the mind of Andrew Lipson as he slowly regained consciousness. Eyes fluttering open, he realized that the cold metal in question happened to be that of his wheelchair. In its folded up form, it could be carried around if need be, and at this point, the organizers of this sick competition had probably surmised that a contestant who couldn't use his legs wouldn't be much fun to watch. Pulling himself off of the wheelchair, he flopped over onto his back, and looked around. As it stood, to use a bad pun, Andrew found himself in; for lack of a better word, a ditch.
In an attempt to pull himself into a sitting position, he felt his pack underneath his left hand.
How am I going to manage this...
While he would likely be able to get himself into his wheelchair if on flat ground, this ditch was another story. Getting himself, his pack, and his wheelchair out of it would be a whole entire effort altogether.
This sucks, he thought. He was still trying to piece together what had all went on. He remembered seeing Adam and the rest off on the trip - how he had wanted to go on it. Then he had gone home, watched a couple hours of TV...then passed out on the couch. He had woken up to a loud crash, and then...he winced as he remembered the blow to the back of his head. He removed his fitted baseball cap and touched the back of his head. It hurt. A lot.
For the first time, Andrew looked around. The ditch was fairly deep and getting out was going to prove to be quite the chore. Aside from that, he couldn't see anything else.
Sighing, he did the only thing he could possibly think of doing, unaware of his situation or the circumstances surrounding the island. He called for help.
Lien - July 14, 2005 12:36 AM (GMT)
Umi turned to the sound, quickly putting her gun in a shooting position. Without making a sound, she walked down the way from the point, grabbing a few stones.
She tossed them every which way, seeing whether she would get a reaction.
d0ddi0slave - July 14, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
Andrew sat in the ditch, pondering his next move. Since there appeared to be no one else in the surrounding area, perhaps-
Before Andrew could finish the thought, a small stone flew out of what seemed like nowhere and hit him directly in the forehead. Surprised, he fell back down into a lying position. Had he been shot? Shocked, he rubbed his head. No blood.
"Ow!!! Fuck, that HURT!"
He picked the stone up off of his shirt, and looked at it. It wasn't all that big, but it still left a little mark. Feeling upset, he tossed the stone back in the direction it came from.
Lien - July 14, 2005 12:46 AM (GMT)
A stone she had thrown to the right was followed by a shout. Umi turned that way, and just barely managed to dodge the rock being thrown back.
She pushed through the brush, her gun aiming into the ditch she surveyed on the way up.
Oh great, she thought, a guy in a wheelchair. You sent a guy in a wheelchair!?
d0ddi0slave - July 14, 2005 12:52 AM (GMT)
As Andrew waited for any sound that his futile attempt at throwing a rock had hit anything, he heard a rustling in the bushes. Perhaps it wasn't a person, but some animal. Come to eat him. Eat him up, without giving a crap to his little situation.
But lo and behold, that wasn't the case. Looking at the girl who made her way out of the bushes, Andrew saw that she was fairly attractive. He recalled seeing her in school a few times, and remembered that before the accident, he had played her a few times in the pool tourney, but never really anywhere else.
It was then that he saw her gun, and his face went white. Why, oh WHY does she have a gun in her hands?
Out loud, he managed to put his hands up and stammer, "Hey...I, uh, don't shoot!"
Lien - July 14, 2005 03:36 AM (GMT)
Umi smiled. Her? Shoot a classmate who was bound to a wheelchair...no way in hell. She hopped down into the ditch and kneeled down close, putting a finger to her lips.
She could probably guess he needed help out of the ditch. Grabbing a hold of his chair first, she hoisted it up out of the ditch. Then she grabbed him from under his armpits.
"Geez, Andrew," she said as she progressively lifted him, "You never used to be this much dead weight."
d0ddi0slave - July 14, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
Andrew's heart crawled from his throat back down to his chest as she put the gun down, and proceeded to help him out of the ditch. Although Andrew wasn't heavy, and actually almost a little scrawny, his legs WERE dead weight, something that he couldn't really help.
Andrew tried as best he could to help her lift him, and with much effort and trouble, she was able to lift him out of the deep ditch. Andrew nodded to her in thanks.
"You can put me down now, I'll be okay from here..."
As she did so, he grabbed the arm of his wheelchair and pulled himself into it, on a sitting position. Reaching down, he strapped his feet in, so that they wouldn't fall out. He then checked the motorized movement on the chair. He was lucky, his chair could be either controlled by the joystick near his hand, or by his arms on the wheels. Both seemed to be working.
"So...Ami..." he guessed, taking a stab at her name, "the one question that I've got to ask you...what's with the gun, and where are we?"
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed his school bag still in the ditch.
"Oh, and uh, would you mind grabbing that for me?"
Lien - July 14, 2005 04:02 AM (GMT)
Her mouth dropped open, her eyes went wide, and the only thing that came out of her mouth at that initial moment was, "A--."
Trying to find her words, she dropped into the ditch and grabbed his bag, taking the time to gather her thoughts. She handed the bag to him, grabbed the gun, and motioned for him to follow her.
She finally began to speak on the way back up.
"This, is hell on earth. An island, the board of a twisted game where we are supposed to kill each other. And, guessing as you weren't on the plane, they brought you here later," she looked haunted, as she remembered the bleeding chest wound of Minase.
"This gun," she continued, "Is a weapon. You probably have some sort of weapon too, in that bag of yours. But we're not playing, not the group I'm in. We want to take these bastards down."
d0ddi0slave - July 14, 2005 04:11 AM (GMT)
Andrew looked as if he'd been slapped. Perhaps he'd have been better off going on the field trip after all. Holding his bag on his lap, he switched to automatic on the chair and wheeled behind Umi, all the while listening to her speak. Finally, when she was done, Andrew had his turn to try and piece things together.
"Hold on...we're supposed to kill each other? How many people are there on this island? How long've you all been here?"
He shook his head. This had to be some sort of crazy reality show. Someone would pop out and HEY! big joke on Andrew, right?
"Plane...no, I don't remember being on any plane...all I remember was...I was sitting on my couch...I heard a loud crash, and then everything went black..."
Lien - July 14, 2005 04:21 AM (GMT)
"Makes sense," Umi said, "They bring people from all different schools, all around the United States."
She sighed as she continued on up, seeing the last few feet of hill before they would reach the resting place.
"You're welcome to join us, if you want. We've been fairly fortunate; the weapons we have are strong enough to defend us."
Umi stopped, turning around to face Andrew. She felt intensely sorry for him, as he was already so unlucky. To lose his legs... now to be in the game where people would be bent on klling.
"Look, I'm so sorry," she said, her voice breaking, "We used to know each other through school, and now you're stuck here. This place... you'll never know what'll happen."
d0ddi0slave - July 14, 2005 04:27 AM (GMT)
Andrew shook his head. He couldn't believe it. He was shocked. This, it just couldn't be happening.
"Shit...but hey, it's not your fault. You didn't put us here..."
A thought came to mind, though. He recalled seeing Umi recently, perhaps even...
"Hey, wait...weren't you going on that field trip for school...?" Andrew trailed off.
