Description: hahaha....

Hahahahahahahaha, hahaha, ah, hahaha....ahhh....AWESOME.

<_< Well you've got to come up with some sort of actual discussion thing.

Seriously.

Raise an issue to be discussed. Also - doesn't belong in Spam. I shall move.

Oh. Sorry. Uhh...who else loves Mortal Kombat?? Who are your favourite characters?? Fatalities?? And...that's about all Mortal Kombat is...

d0ddi0slave - July 18, 2006 05:13 AM (GMT)
Best fatality ever, bar none was Kung Lao's vertical hat slicey-thing from MK2.

Cycokiller - July 18, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
My personal fav is Kano. Gotta love the shifty, treacherous baldy. And coincidentally my favourite fatality is his 'Pull-out-your-entire-skeleton-through-your-mouth'. The first time I saw that I nearly passed out laughing. And the high pitched 'Aaahhhh!!' while he does it...priceless.

Slayer - July 18, 2006 05:17 AM (GMT)
I personally like the classic "Spine Rip" that Sub-Zero does, and the Stage Fatalities are always cool and more possible to do in time than the normal ones (nothing says "OWNED" like ripping out someone's spine or uppercutting them off the arena and down into a bed of spikes). The famous "Toasty" one is always good for a laugh.

Cycokiller - July 18, 2006 05:32 AM (GMT)
I also love Stryker's exploding fatality. He rigs the woozy opponent with dynamite, stands back and sticks his fingers in his ears as they get blown to kingdom come.

d0ddi0slave - July 18, 2006 05:33 AM (GMT)
Funny that everyone and their mother seems to despise Striker.

Slayer - July 18, 2006 05:36 AM (GMT)
I've never heard of him, oddly enough. Then again, I've only played the first two, the fourth (fuckin' impossible for some reason), Deadly Alliance (Moloch is impossible to beat unless you're the luckiest fucker on the planet. I swear, his SNK Boss Syndrome is bigger than Danya's ego!) and Deception, so I probably missed him.

Cycokiller - July 18, 2006 05:46 AM (GMT)
Stryker made a small appearance in Deception, but only in that Konquest dealy. And hey, what is up with friggin' EVERYTHING being spelled with a damn K? It wasn't so bad at first, with stuff like Kombination and Kontinue, but now the damn K is all over the place. Even in character names, for example Kobra. I get it! You guys like the fuggin' letter K! Screw off!

d0ddi0slave - July 18, 2006 05:48 AM (GMT)
Kalm down, man. Misusing the C for a K isn't too big of a deal. I mean, I'm sure that you kan think of quite a few things that would annoy you even more kontinuously then krazy usage of the letter K. Kan't you? Kan't you? I certainly kan. Like, why the hell do kandy kanes always break? Fucking krap is what that is.

Yeah...

Slayer - July 18, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
I think in an interview the creators said the "K" thing was to make it seem "cooler" or something, and eventually it just became a running gag. I stopped playing Conquest when the blind guy (give me a break, it's almost 2 AM, my memory isn't the best right now) is training Shujinko, the combos you have to do there are impossible. Also, the rental was due back.

riserugu - July 18, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
I played some of the early games when I was little; or at least tried too. The whole not understanding the concept of the English language at that point in my life was a bit of a draw back, but I knew pressing a button did something so I went with that. My brothers where way better than me though...

Though I always found the Animalities rather amusing, namely Kitana's killer rabbit, or Sub-Zero's polar bear.

I lvoe Mortal Kombat, i've played them all except the new Shoalin monks

i'm probably gonna get shot for this but:

ScorpionxSub Zero = OTP!

Slayer - July 18, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
That's just wrong. Anyone with any grasp of MK canon knows that whenever Scorpion and Sub-Zero are even in the same room, they try to kill each other (well, Scorpion tries to kill Sub-Zero, who defends himself, but you know what I mean). Even look at their endings in the first game, as soon as the tournament ended they fought to the death. And in "MK Mythologies: Sub Zero" it was revealed that Sub-Zero murdered the mortal equivalent of Scorpion.

Sorry, fangirls who completely ignore canon for their own nonsensical desires are a personal pet peeve of mine (same with fanboys who do the same thing, and Japanophiles.). Anyway, anyone want to lend opinions on the new game (Armageddon)?
Edit: No, I was not calling Sephy a Japanophile, though one tends to wonder...

Sephy - July 18, 2006 03:51 PM (GMT)
The Sub Zero in the first game isn't the same sub Zero as the other games, Scorpion and the older Sub Zero hate each other, Scorpion and the younger Sub Zero can actually stand each other.

and I never said it was canonically possible for them to be a couple, I happen to like the pairing, there are certain piarings I like because i'd like to see them together, and certain pairings I like that are backed up by canon and subtext.

So don't get your knickers in a bunch, do I jump down your throat everytime you say you like something? you could support Sonya Bladex Mileena for all I care, people are entitled to thier own opinions.

Just because they can stand each other (a point I concede, I haven't played the early era games in an age) doesn't mean they'll screw each other (Scorpion's pretty much a fuggin ZOMBIE for cripes sake!). Standing someone is not liking someone, just like tolerating someone is not liking them. As for my opinion, here it is: why the bloody hell would you focus on romance in a game where you're encouraged (and expected) to fucking RIP A GUY'S SKELETON OUT OF THEIR MOUTH or inflict similarly gruesome deaths upon them? That's like giving the nice old lady who lives down the street a machine gun and sending her to 'Nam.

Sephy - July 18, 2006 04:51 PM (GMT)
I don't "focus on romance" at all, I happen to do the occasional roleplay with Scorpion and Sub Zero kicking the crap out of each other and having hot violent monkey sex afterwards, it's not like I sit you down and force you to read it.

Slayer - July 18, 2006 04:54 PM (GMT)
Okay, 1) I did NOT need to know that! *shudder*, and 2) I never said you did, I was just saying that romance is a bit out of place when the goal is to gruesomely murder the poor fucker standing in front of (technically next to considering the 2D origin, I guess) you.

Serapindal - July 18, 2006 05:02 PM (GMT)
Bo' Rai Cho>>>Everyone.

Sephy - July 18, 2006 05:02 PM (GMT)
They crowbared romance into the 2 Mk movies

Slayer - July 18, 2006 05:06 PM (GMT)
There's a reason the movies ain't canon. Agreeing with Serapindal, Bo'Rai'Cho is pretty neat, and I've always found him somewhat easy to master, though I found the "teacher of the main character (or one of them" cliche (he trained Liu Kang) a bit annoying.

Sephy - July 18, 2006 05:13 PM (GMT)
XD I love Bo Rai Cho's vomit attack o.o Drunken Fist style is so cool.
