Decent players don't deserve a chance, top talent pushes its way in. See Ramsey for Arsenal.

Well in that case we are in the SHIT

Decent/top talent is only how we assess them

Certain people like (And see something) in Lucas, me I just see a liability

Thats what I am saying, I agree, they need to be better than that and right now none are.

I'd rather be a mid table club with little debt than a mid table club with huge debts.

The clubs future is far more important than Benitez, Torres and Gerrard etc.

so you would like us to be a Bolton, Everton, Fulham? logical  with the likes of Davies, Hibbert, Gera playing for us?? these mid-table sides have made that step up to "the bigtime" so i can see why you would like us to go down that road :pmsl:

They are under huge/long contracts
:what:

that is exactly why they would be sold

Some would rather have us winning fuck all and getting deeper into debt as long as Rafa stays. I'd rather the debt was eased and we looked at the bigger picture as we are going nowhere fast, more debt and we'll be in the shit big time.

Yes and yes.
The problem is the debt is just being serviced, barely, and still we got no coin left. For the debt to be eased (read paid down) under the current structure the clubs ability to sign and retain top players will get worse.
This has nothing to do with who currently is on the bench in uniform or wearing the sombrero, it is the bottom line.
No money = no talent.
There needs to be cash equity replacing bank notes. It sure isn't working in the boardroom or on the field as it is so something has got to give. I think what Danny (and I) are saying is why give up the work, and success that we have enjoyed recently and our position/history as a top team in the PL and Europe just so the current ownership can balance their books.
Perhaps a new manager is needed, perhaps not.
Maybe a different gaffer would get more/less out of the squad or employ a different scheme, or maybe not.
What is certainly the case is new ownership/structure is a must, regardless of matchday personnel or tactics, if this club is to continue in the upper echelon of modern football.

While i can see your point of view i think its a bit arrogant stating why should you give up your position in the PL and Europe!!!

I've said exactly that for the last couple years, that was in response to the idea that being a mid table club was ok if the financial position improves. My opinion is we need the resources financially and professionally in the boardroom to allow the team to continue to defend and EARN its place on the field.
