Appearance: Mykael stands five foot even and is slightly built man with brown-red hair. His hands are slim and rather delicate with nimble fingers. His hands have a number of small burns, scars, and scratches that he aquires dureing the day as he works at making his rings and other goods. He no longer carries himself like a rider, but he isn’t the broken man he was soon after Ammyth’s death. His shoulders are slumped, but there is a spark of life in his green eyes.
For a man who makes all sorts of beautiful things, Myk only wears a cheep blue quartz pendant and an equally cheep clear quartz ring with one of Ammyth’s baby teeth set behind the stone. He did both pieces himself. Myk clothing is carefully cared for, but they are on the poor side. While he makes a respectable number of marks with his jewelery, he tends to put it back into the Weyr and Hall, buying supplies they need. Get him on the dance floor, Myk is light on his feet and graceful.
Personality: Myk has about him of a man who’s been steam rolled by the world, but managed to get back to his feet. Ammyth’s death didn’t change his personality much though. He has always been a private man, one bent on study and working with his hands. Ammyth brought him out of his hole, usually by dragging him out physically. Despite seeming like a recluse, Myk does enjoy talking and socializing, he’s just never been good at being the one to initiate things.
Myk is chivalrous, and will go out of his way to help a woman. He loves kids and eagerly takes a turn watching the younger weyr, hall and hold brats. He hasn’t fostered any children, but he is considering it. Myk doesn’t drink normally, but at hatchings and when a dragon dies he disappears into his cups. Rarely does he stay in them for more then a night.

History: Mirane was born to a small profitable craft hall specializing in cutting and setting gemstones. Some of his childhood playthings where half-polished and cut semi-precious stones. He’d watch for hours as his father studied and took in every aspect of the stone he was working on before making the first cleave. “If you plan to do something right, take your time.” his father told him when ever the boy grew impatient. At the age of eight, Mirane was allowed to cut his first stone, a chunk of blue quartz, which he set into a pewter setting. He’s kept that stone with him since as a good luck piece.
High Reaches searched him out two turns into his formal apprenticeship. He was torn between continuing with his craft, or becoming a rider. The female search rider managed to convince him to come to the weyr by bribing him with hints of some interesting crystal deposits in the caverns. His candidate hood was relatively uneventful, the usual pranks and issues of any young man who’d given up one life for the chance of another. He stood for three clutches before he Impressed Ammyth.
As a rider he made a name for himself for being a reliable courier, and for continuing his craft in what little free time he had. Soon he had a small select clientele, wealthy holders, other riders, and once a master Harper who’d lost the stone in his master’s pin. During the plague turns he risked his life, against orders, to help the healers, holing up at the Harper hall when it was required for him to be quarantined. It was as the plague was winding down that he lost Ammyth.
Mi’ne had returned to his home hall to see how his family had faired. Both his father and mother had passed from the plague, but his little sister and her family had survived, if just barely. A few days after arriving a massive storm whipped up, and his sister came to him frantic. Hid niece had wandered off. Rounding up several of the crafters and holders they spread out to look for the girl. Despite the risk Ammyth took to the air to help. The blue dragon spotted the girl huddled in a place he couldn’t get to, and even though he urged her to come out, the girl was to scared. Calling his rider to the exact location Ammyth stayed with the terrified girl. Just as Mi’ne got to her there was a thundering Ca-CRACK! Mi’ne looked up in horror as he felt his bond snap. Ammyth stood silhouetted against pure white for several seconds and then was gone taking half of Mi’ne with him.
Another rider came for him after that, but the wound was to fresh and Mi’ne, now Mykael retreated to the craft halls burying himself under work. But as the hurt healed he realized that by turning his back on his former life, he was dishonoring Ammyth. So when the call for crafters went out to go to the Western continent, he signed on.
Loves:- Loosing himself in the facets of a cut stone
- His niece
Hates: - Thunder storms
Anything Else?:- While being only half a man and to be around dragons hurts to no end, it hurts more to be away from a weyr, which is why he came to Solace.
