Solace is now Open for Staff applications both for Administrator position and Moderator position. Do note that depending on which position you pick, may demand more of your time. If you already run another site, and are not sure you can handle another staff position please do not apply. If you are sure and only if you are sure you can handle being on another staff then you may apply. Being an Admin or Mod have similar but also different responsibilities. The reason for the Staff Team is because sometimes one or more of the Staff may go M.I.A. The reasons could be anything and everything, since Solace is very loose on activity. We understand that sometimes you just can't get on, or post, or whatever. There is only 2 rules that will allow those who apply to be qualified. Please take this seriously as we do, if we find that these rules have been broken you will be demoted.

1.For Admin position - Can not be running their own site, and not an Admin of more then one site other than Ko'vale.

2.For Mod position - Can not be an Admin or Mod on more then 2 two sites other than Ko'vale.


Sometimes one of the Staff can be on, and can take the time to deal with what another was unable to get to, such responsibilities are:
  • Updating Candidate List (Dragon & Wher)
  • Updating Dragonrider List
  • Updating Wing List
  • Updating Flitts & Pets List
  • Updating Wherhandler List
  • Updating Dates for Events
  • Updating The News Boards
  • Accept Characters & Moving their Profiles
  • Answer Questions if any are asked via Cbox or Questions thread
  • Dealing with any issues that may arise
  • Or dealing with a Member if it ever comes to that
  • Rarely, taking charge of the Forum if any other Admins are unavailable
Those are the general responsibilities of the Staff team, besides those there is also the fun part of being on the staff. And that is taking a part in what new ideas to bring to Solace, plots, themes, and such that everyone has a say in. No one has a stupid idea, suggestion, or question. This also implies to the Members if any have any suggestion, etc. They can come to the Staff who can bring it up in the Staff Board. Where we can talk about it and what not. Remember the Weyr is for everyone, and also for fun. This is just to keep things fun and to help out with managing what is needed.

For Admins your time may be required more then if you were a Mod. That is because as an Admin you are taking on the highest responsibility, which can mean a lot or not much. As an Admin you may have many Members come to you, even one of the Staff. Not only do you have the general responsibilities everyone else has but you also have others that Mods do not. Such as:
  • Updating Dates for Events
  • Updating The News Boards
  • Deciding on Clutches (Colors and Parings)
  • Any issues that may arise
  • Or dealing with a Member if it ever comes to that
  • Rarely, taking charge of the Weyr if any other Admins are unavailable
With that in mind we would also like those who wish to apply to also take in these few general questions that may concern your ability on the Staff Team:
  • How much time do you have normally?
  • Knowing that, how much computer time you will have in the future as a Staff Member?
  • Can you be punctual with your duties?
  • Have you every dealt with Coding? ([img], [i], [b], <tb>, <br>, <font color=*>, etc.)
  • Are you well informed with Solace's History, Setting, etc?
  • Are you well informed with Pern's History, Culture, etc?
  • Are you able to handle stressful situations in and out of the Staff area? (Within the Staff, within the Forum)
  • Are you able to make the effort to get along with the other Staff members even if one is someone you are not to keen with?
Adding all this in, if you still think you are Admin or Mod quality, please send a PM to Admin Luna titled “[insert position, Administrator/Moderator] : Application” along with the information found within the pre-created code. You will be notified if you were accepted or not.
