Shades of Gray

[Roxas]

I walked slowly into Echo Cave. I looked around at my surroundings, trying to get a feel of what this cave was all about. Lights were above me, and the tunnel was pretty wide. It seemed like a nice place to travle through, despite being much different than the past few routes. I started to walk forward, beginning my journey through the cave.

You began walking down the main path of the cave. The lights flickered above, and you feared that they would turn off at any second. Then, you came upon a hole in the wall that seemed like a side path. The path was considerably darker than the main path. You could see another one a few yards ahead...

[Roxas]

I looked down at Umbreon. He didn't seem to excited about going down the dark path, so I decided not to. I continued walking on down the main path.

[alakazam1]

You came upon the second darker path on the other side of the main path. It was still dark, but a pokemon could easily light the path up. Go down the path?

[Roxas]

I suddenly realized I could use Flash to light up the darker paths. I slapepd my forehead. "Why didn't I realize that earlier? Umbreon, try Flash." Her golden rings began to glow. I started walking down the path with her.

You began to walk down the side path until you heard a strange hissing. Looking down, you saw a Paras Level 22 Male hissing at Umbreon. Your pokemon jumped back and Paras disappeared. Umbreon laughed a little then walked forward to shed some light on the pokemon again...

[Roxas]

"Chatot, why don't you take this one?" He gladly flew off my shoulder as Umbreon moved closer to Paras. The little Pokemon looked pretty timid. "Put him to sleep with Sing first. Then, Peck." This battle would be quick, since Flying attacks did x4 damage to Paras.

[alakazam1]

Chatot began singing until the hissing pokemon fell down, asleep. Chatot fluttered down and landed on Paras to peck him. Paras took good damage and remained asleep...

[Roxas]

"Chatot, use Growl first this time. Then hit him with another Peck!" Chatot seemed to enjoy battling. If he was anything like Dallas had been, teaching him a Contest Move would be a pain in the neck...

[alakazam1]

Chatot growled at the sleeping Paras to lower his attack a notch. Then he flew up to the top of the cave and flew back down to peck Paras. Somehow, the pokemon managed to not faint...

[Roxas]

"Chatot, another Peck should do it." I figured Paras must be somewhere around Weak in status. Chatot needs some more powerful moves.

[alakazam1]

Chatot flies up, does a u turn, and flies back down. He pecks Paras hard, and the pokemon faints. Catch Paras?

[Roxas]

Paras weren't the strongest Pokemon, and I already had a main Grass type and Bug type on my team, so I decided to ignore it. I continued walking along as Chatot landed on my shoulder. Umbreon seemed to glow a little brighter as we moved deeper into the tunnel.

[alakazam1]

You continued walking until Umbreon fell and the light went out. Umbreon got back up as you stood there motionless so you didn't run into anything.

There was a large hole in front of Umbreon. She told Chatot to tell you that something was sticking up and she tripped over it. She turned back around to examine the large hole, and a Diglett Level 24 Male jumped out and began laughing...

[Roxas]

"Slam, you're up!" My Huntail appeared. "Use a Water Pulse attack!"

[alakazam1]

Huntail stops laughing after Huntail appears. Huntail fires pulsing water rings at Diglett, who takes good damage. The ground begins shaking and Umbreon accidentally falls down again. The light comes back on, and Huntail takes some damage from the magnitude attack...

Huntail: Less Than Normal
Diglett: Almost Weakened

[Roxas]

"Slam, use Screech followed by Ice Fang!" With Diglett's defense lowered two stages and super effective damage, this attack would do very well.

Diglett begins shaking the ground while Huntail screeches very loudly. Combined with the echo from the cave, this was a rather scary experience. Diglett takes good damage when Huntail bites him with icy fangs...

Huntail: Almost Weakened
Diglett: Weak, Defense -2

[Roxas]

I shivered as the creepy screech echoed thorughout the cavern. "O-ok Slam, do that combo again. Scr-screech and Ice Fang." I covered my ears.

Huntail let out another loud screech. Huntail digs underground, but Huntail dives in after him. Before you could stop him, Huntail was in the whole. Diglett used dig and slammed into him, before being knocking out by Huntail's icy fangs. Catch Diglett?
