High and Dry, Second Stop: Zephyr City

"All aboard!" She said to you, and walked into the purple balloon with you. The two balloon pokemon floated next to the balloon, and with the pull of a lever, flames shot upwards in the balloon!

Within seconds you were lifted off into the air. Looking around, you saw the city clearly from above in the sky. Who knows how many feet you were off the ground. The view up here was fantastic!

As you looked around, you suddenly realized you were floating above the Hospital and some other building. Looking to your left, you saw the center of the town, and a skyscraper that had a battlefield on it.

You could see a Fearow battling some trainer's Flareon, and promptly crushing the fire type with something that looked like an Aerial Ace attack.

"That's the gym right there. Kneau Azul is the gym leader, and that Fearow is his partner. He's a toughy, and also a bird master! He has trainers battle him on top of the skyscraper so that they can feel the wind in their hair, and so that his birds have the freedom to fly everywhere." The woman said.

"Now, where would you like to go?" You could see what looked like to be a bunch of buildings that represented a school up ahead of the gym, a bunch of buildings to the left of the school, a bunch of buildings to the right of the school, and many other places to go to.

(Since you wanted to see the gym you moved fast through the sky and got close to it. You're now above the small building next to the gym, watching the battle. That in total took about five minutes, so 55 minutes left. Look on the map in the pinned and closed Zephyr City topic, and just say where you'd like to go next to explore. Or if you'd like to battle. I'll probably point out pokemon anyway.)

He expected to be high, but Seiji could possibly see clear to the next town from up here. That is, if his gaze wasn't already drawn to the battlefield below them. So that was where the gym was located, and he got a chance to watch him in action as well. Still, that was an odd location for a gym, but he didn't make the rules here, he could only abide by them.

"Huh?" He was deep in thought at that moment, trying to think of what he needed to do against Kneau. But he had other locations nearby, so he pointed to the school ahead of them, that looked interesting enough. "How about that building there, I'm not sure what that is. And I just thought of something to ask. Are there any Pokemon types that I can't use while I'm up here? You know, in case a battle does occur?"

"You just need to be careful that your pokemon doesn't fall out of the balloon. Using things like tackle in mid air probably wouldn't be a good idea. Using a flying type or possibly a special based move that is long range might be good." She said. Pulling on the lever, she made the balloon go forward towards the school.

In about two minutes you reached the academy, and saw various buildings below you. The buildings looked very much like the ones you'd see on a college campus, and you could make out statues of what looked like legendary pokemon on top of these buildings. You could see that one of them looked like a dorm, for where college students would say.

"This is Pokemon Academy, and its a university here in Zephyr City. Trainers and students come from all over the world to study here and learn about the various subjects that can teach them to get a job in the real world, or to become a trainer in the real world. We've got the Lugia Library; that's a place with an incredible amount of books. There's a vast amount of knowledge just waiting to be taken in by people willing to read. Many of the students joke of it being their second home." She chuckled.

"We've also got the Articuno Academic Building, where many of the classes are held. If you're allowed to, you should check out the many departments in the building. The science department is big in there."

"Next is the biggest building, the Zapdos Dorms. Its the building where the students live here on campus, and basically study study study for all of their exams. There are students that live in apartments around the city though, so if you explore on foot, you may meet some."

"Finally we've got the Ho-oh Administration and Student Union building. You've got your higher up authorities there and those who run the university. Its also a place for students to go eat and has many different activities for the students to do on campus."

She smiled at you, and awaited to see where you'd like to go next. You suddenly noticed a Swablu, level 18 and female, flying about in the sky. She spotted the balloon, and seemed to be heading in your direction...

(We'll say that took about 5 minutes altogether: 2 minutes to fly over, 3 minutes for the explanation. So 50 minutes left!)

"Yeah, that makes sense." So anyone in the group besides Eevee could potentially take a chance, but just from the warning that he got earlier, Seiji just thought it was safer for them to get their training on the ground. Maybe as a final tune up for the gym battle he'd think about catching some of the Pokemon up here, but for now, not so much.

He did listen to the description of the university, and decided that it might be worth a visit sometime. But the buildings to the east did catch his attention as well. Just then, a Swablu caught his eye, as it started flying closer to the balloon. "well, at least this one's not aiming for my head." He was sure that the pilot didn't know what he meant by that. "It's a long story. A long, almost traumatic story..."

The Swablu continued forward at you, but then when it noticed you were heading in another direction, decided to leave and head somewhere else. Phew.

You began floating towards the east, and you were now next to a tall building, and right above a shorter looking building. The woman began to speak as you looked down at them all.

"Right below us is the cinema. You can watch all sorts of movies there. I'm not too sure if you can bring pokemon in with you, but if you could, I doubt huge pokemon like Steelix or Wailord could go in there. Smaller pokemon like my cute little Drifloon could though!"

"The tall building next to us is one of the business buildings in town, owned by the Sharma's Institute of Scientific Development, or SISD for short. Residents and workers in Zephyr City come here all the time to have tests done on them, and to research many different scientific fields. All that stuff is beyond me, so you'll need to go check it out yourself."

"Behind the cinema is another building, which is just a hotel. You can stay there for a cheap price, I believe its $450, but you need to pay that every night. I'd suggest maybe checking it out, but don't forget you have the pokemon center."

"Speaking of which, this is the eastern side's pokemon center," she said, pointing to the other red roofed building by the business building she pointed out before, "Which is exactly the same as the one you used on the west side! This place is so big they made two, for the trainers who may get lost."

"Fat Friar Fred's is the last building in this section, and its right behind the pokemon center. Its a pretty fun place; they sell pizzas and burgers here. The manager is a jolly plump fellow who works along with his employees. I'll let you check out what they've got to offer though. I suggest visiting there sometime."

With that, she awaited to hear where you wanted to go next. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a huge group of Butterfree flew right past your balloon! They were flying in couples, and probably migrating to some unknown location.

A cinema, a science lab and a pizza place, all located here with other high profile locations that the pilot described. This place was definitely not like Camber Town, that's for sure. As Seiji listened to the discription that was given, he was just amazed at all the different things that there were to do here. At least, up until she mentioned the amount for the hotel there, and it made his jaw drop. "Uh, yeah... I do appreciate the Pokemon center in that aspect at least. That's way too much for a beginning trainer like me to afford per night.

The Butterfree came, but Seiji didn't see them as he was deep in thought. It was then that he remembered the other reason why he came up here. "I remember seeing something about a big shopping area on the map when I came in here. Would you mind showing me that area? After that, anything else that you can think of that might be interesting to check out while I'm here would help."

"Yes, we sure can!" She said, and the balloon turned around, heading a bit north from where you were. After a couple of minutes, you were floating over the short building that was in between a larger looking mall, and a pretty tall skyscraper.

"We've got the mall, on this block first, which has many stores within it that sell a variety of goods. You can get things like evolution stones, an amulet coin, healthy drinks for your pokemon that raise stats, and other little things that can help your pokemon out in big ways! They used to sell rare candies, but they've run out of stock. You should most definitely check this place out. I won't tell you anymore, because its fun to explore!"

"Clemens and Clyde Crime Investigators is the next building, next to the mall. They're the detective agency here in Zephyr City, and they've got a whole building dedicated to their business. They take the serious mysteries that go on here in Zephyr. You should take a look if there's a problem you need to solve. But be careful, because security may throw you out if you go to the 5th floor. The agency members stay up there sometimes, and no others are allowed up there."

"Skyrise Publishing House is the tall skinny building on this block, and here they publish all sorts of works here. I don't know too much about it, but you could probably take a look at it if you wanted to. Be careful, because security may not let you visit some of the floors in the building."

"And finally there's the regular old pokemart. They don't get much business due to the mall, but you can find your usual and helpful equipment there. Like pokeballs and such."

(We'll say you have 39 minutes left now. I'm letting you post next because all of this is a lot to post in one single post, and maybe you'd have some things to say about the buildings and such.)

"Investigators? Like real private eyes?" Ok, so he's seen a few detective movies before leaving home, but just the thought of seeing what an actual detective's office is like got his attention almost immediately. The publishing house and shopping places were interesting enough, but Seiji almost had the first place he wanted to see in mind.

"Ok, I think that might be everything, unless there's a place you have in mind. Guess I could start keeping my eyes out for a pokemon to try and take on. This might not be pleasant though."

"We've got plenty of time left here in the balloon. Would you like to check out the park from above? Or another section in town that has a second pokemart, another restaurant, and the all famous pokemon contest hall?" She asked.

Suddenly, from above in the air, a Pidgeotto level 18 male appeared and flew in front of your balloon. He flapped his wings hard, and seemed to want to battle.
