Catch That Crook!

I raced after the criminal. "Whirly, block his path and divebomb him!" I called up to my bird who flew beak first at speed towards the guy, hoping to make him fall or startle..

But Whirly wasn't fast enough, it was only able to fly down to you, and point you in the right direction of where to go. Marsh Swamp was icky and muddy, and your shoes would probably need a good cleaning session after this adventure.

Whirly pointed over in one direction, and you could see that there was something there. Like a house or something. It wasn't far to walk.

But a level 16 male Lotad appeared out of the mud to battle you before you could check it out.

I took my shoes off, finding mud easier to get out of and through this way, thanks to using my feet to guide me over better parts. A trick my great-grandma "Gammy" taught me when I was travelling with her travelling group.

"Woah.." I stopped, not wanting to fall on Lotad. "Ok. Whirly go. Use sand attack and follow it up with a peck once its blinded!" I called, hoping not to lose track of the crook.

The Creegle began by spraying mud and sand on the Lotad's eyes, which lowered its accuracy a notch. The Lotad used Mist, which prevented further lowering of stats, for five turns. Then Creegle pecked hard on Lotad, doing super effective damage, but Lotad used Astonish right back, scaring and doing some tough damage to Creegle!

Creegle:

Lotad: Less than , -1 Accuracy, Mist (5)

"Whirly, use a mud slap and try to fly as high as you can, out of reach of the attacks of Lotad!" I called, hoping this would do some good.

Lotad began by using Absorb this time, which surrounded Whirly with a green bubble, draining some of its energy! The Creegle then looked at you, confused. It didn't know Mud Slap till level 7!

Creegle:

Lotad: , -1 Accuracy, Mist (4)

"Darn it, my fault, sorry Whirly. Ok, use a peck and try flying and rolling in the air to dodge attacks!" I called, I was so bad with remembering the levels of my pokemon sometimes. I sometimes felt I should just have the one, risky, but at least I would remember its level..

[Shadow Slayer]

Lotad once again began absorbing energy from Creegle, and do to its low level compared to the Lotad, the Creegle fell forward, fainted from the attack. Lotad jumped up and down happily, ascending to level 17...and evolving!

It became a Lombre! Now you were in trouble. D=

"Oops.. Ok, lets take a chance. Go for it Webber!" I knew he was low level, but he did have a biggish type advantage..Anyway, I had to train him sometime..
"Use string shot and follow up with poison sting!" I called, hoping he could get some training out of this.

Lombre growled at the spider, knowing the type disadvantage it had, lowering the spider's attack. String surrounded the grass/water type, which lowered its speed! Then, Lombre absorbed some energy from Spinarak, which wasn't very effective, and spinarak hit the Lombre with a poison sting for some good damage, poisoning him!

Lombre: Close to , Poisoned, -1 Speed

Spinarak: , -1 Attack

"Alright, well done Webber. Ok use a scary face and follow it up with another poison sting!" I called to my pokemon. Hoping I could level him up some-more with a match. He needed it really..

[Shadow Slayer]

Lombre once again used Growl, lowering the attack strength of Webber's a notch. Webber then began to glow a blue color, and a scary face popped out from its back, stunning the Lombre and lowering its speed two notches!

Webber then used poison sting again which hit for a little damage, as Lombre drained more energy...

Webber: , -2 Attack

Lombre: , -3 Speed, Poisoned

"Ok Webber, take a break. Sprout, finish it off. Come on out and use Tackle!" I called, hoping my Chikorita would have some resistance and power over the part grass type..

[Shadow Slayer]

Lombre growled as Webber disappeared and your Chikorita took its place, lowering Chikorita's attack strength. Lombre then used Absorb, taking a little bit of energy, as Chikorita tackled hard into Lombre for critical damage.

Lombre: Less than , -3 Speed, Poisoned

Chikorita:

"Alright. Go in for a vine whip and follow it up with growl!" I called to him, hoping this would be a good 'finishing' move..

The Chikorita extended a vine, and slapped the grass/water type pokemon hard, for good damage! He fought back by using Astonish, attempting to scare the grass type pokemon. The poison then seeped in, and Lombre fell over fainted. Catch Lombre?

"Why ever would I not." I smiled and tossed a pokeball towards Lombre, "I shall call him Moss." I nodded to myself, smiling at my luck. I was glad to have yet another pokemon.

With a Lombre at hand, you moved on forward to find out the location of the crook you were chasing before. You ran and ran through the icky mud, attempting to find some sort of clue of where he could have gone!

There were muddy footprints that were leading you in one direction, and from what you could see, a recently built shack or cabin was in the distance. Maybe that's where he went?

A level 15 male Starly suddenly flew right in front of you, attempting to startle you.

"Whoops" I did jump, slipping and going -splat- in the mud, but hey. I wasn't one of those girly girls about to complain. The whole fun of travelling was getting dirty!
"Whats the big idea Starly. I aint a big bug." I said, scrambling up off the slippy mud to my feet again..

The starly began laughing at your misfortune, and then pointed at the pokeballs on your belt, wishing to battle you and the pokemon you've trained on your journey.
