Walking Under Sunshine

[Seiji]

This was quite the different atmosphere then the grove. Sun shining brightly above him, fields of gold before him, and more importantly... no trees. Nothing to dive bomb at Seiji all of a sudden besides birds, and oh was he used to it by now. He didn't want to make this part of the trip alone, so he released Dratini, who subsequently looked around all nervous like.

"No no, it's just the two of us at the moment. I figured you wouldn't mind being out of your ball for a bit." It must be hard being the youngest, as Dratini just exhaled as he tried to keep up with his trainer.

As you walked through the meadow, you noticed the green and the flowers everywhere. Zephyr City seemed pretty far, but you'd make it there. A level 9 male Rattata walked up to you, wanting to battle.

[Seiji]

For a change, a Pokemon appeared before him, and not colliding into him. For that alone, he had to give that Ratatta credit. But now, It was Dratini's turn to battle, and even though he was a bit scared, Seiji just stood behind his little baby dragon to offer encouragement.

"Don't worry little guy, this time we'll handle this together. Start with Thunder Wave, then use Dragonbreath."

[Shadow Slayer]

The Rattata began by wagging his tail, lowering Dratini's defense a notch. But then Dratini fired a blue wave of electricity towards the rat, paralyzing him! Rattata still managed to use Tackle, hitting hard into Dratini for some damage, as dratini breathed all over your opponent, for some damage.

Rattata: Less than Normal, Paralyzed
Dratini: Almost Weakened, -1 Defense

[Seiji]

This Rattata is proving to be quite resiliant, but at the same time, he's good practice for Dratini to work with. "Ok Dratini, use Dragon Pulse." Seiji saw the same shivering still, but at least Dratini was working hard here.

[Shadow Slayer]

Rattata stood there, too paralyzed to attack Dratini this turn, and was hit directly with a Dragon Pulse attack, taking critical damage! Rattata wasn't feeling too well, but seemed to be able to still battle.

[Seiji]

Dratini saw it just then. Rattata tried to move, but the paralysis got to him this time. For a second, he thought that he might actually win this. And Seiji saw that he looked slightly more confident then in his first battle. "Another Dragon Pulse Dratini. You're doing great there."

Dratini felt extra lucky today, and fired another Dragon Pulse at the Rattata, doing another critical hit! How lucky could you get? Rattata fell over fainted. Catch Rattata?

[Seiji]

"Wow..." He did an even better job then the last time that he battled. "That was great Dra..." And then, he started looking nervous once again. "Well, you're getting better at that. Come on, we better keep going."

The day was warm as the sun beat down on the two of you, and you seemed to like walking out in the open again after being in Pindle Town for so long. Dratini liked moving along with you, a bit nervous with all of this, but confident after beating Rattata.

A level 10 female Oddish walked up to you and bounced up and down happily, wanting to battle.

[Seiji]

It was so much nicer being out here, what with the open spaces and all. Seiji and Dratini were just enjoying the outdoors, when an Oddish popped out all of a sudden. She looked happy enough, so Seiji would agree to her request as he tossed out Growlithe's pokeball. Besides, he needed a cheer up from the gym battle he was in. "Growlithe, start with a Howl, then use Bite."

[Shadow Slayer]

Growlithe howled up to the sky, raising his attack stat up a notch. Oddish then created a green bubble, which surrounded Growlithe's body, and zapped him of some energy! Growlithe then ran forward and bit hard into the Oddish, who let off a sweet scent, lowering Growlithe's evasiveness...

Growlithe: More than Less than Normal, -1 Evasiveness, +1 Attack
Oddish: Close to almost Weakened

[Seiji]

"Growlithe, use Ember!" The damage his puppy took didn't appear to be all that bad, so Seiji decided to go with a move that was a bit more potent this time.

[Shadow Slayer]

Growlithe put his special attack to work; He opened his mouth and blasted Oddish with tiny embers, hitting the grass type for good damage, and even leaving a burn! The Oddish used sweet scent again, lowering its evasiveness, but the scent of the burn traveled with it...

Growlithe: More than Less than Normal, -2 Evasiveness, +1 Attack
Oddish: Weak, Burned

[Seiji]

"Use another Bite Growlithe." Something simple this time, plus that burn that Oddish had would possibly help them out. And even thoughout all of this, that Oddish still looked to be in good enough spirits. Thanks to that, an idea came to mind.

[Shadow Slayer]

Growlithe ran forward towards the Oddish, and bit hard into its leaves, doing some pretty good damage to the pokemon. It used sweet scent again, and then, the burn did enough damage to knock it out.

((OOC: Blame Platinum for the delay this time. *shakes fist at Fantina*))

And there goes her last legs. Matter of fact, when Oddish used Sweet Scent, Seiji started sneezing from it, though Growlithe didn't. He guessed it was just the Pollen, but put that to the side when his puppy ran up to him. "Great job boy." He said, before returning him to his pokeball.

That left the Oddish before him, who looked like she gave it her all. With a shrug, he pulled out a Pokeball and tossed it out to capture her. "She seemed nice enough, right Dratini?" Even he had to nod at that one, so when the ball disappeared, they started off once again.

Dratini then looked ahead, spotting a level 10 male Taillow floating above something. He wasn't too far away, and circle around it, like a vulture...(pardon me if I spelt vulture wrong. ^^; )

[Seiji]

(And here I'm just getting to Maylene finally. And yes, vulture was spelled right.)

Dratini just nudged at his ankle to get his attention. He pointed his tail ahead so Seiji could see the Taillow in the air, but why was he just circling like that? "This can't be good. We better see what it is." And before Dratini could object, he was already finding himself picked up and heading over to see what this was all about.

You ran towards the circling taillow, interested in what was going on. When you reached where he was, you saw that beneath him...was just a pokeball. But it was empty, and no one had claimed it, so hey, free pokeball for you if you'd like!

The Taillow spotted you eyeing it though, and would most likely attack you if you grabbed its "treasure"...
