On the Wayside

"Wow Webber, we did it. Look around." I smiled, letting him take a perch on my shoulder, so he could see too. I knew my first task was to find a pokemon centre somewhere. All my pokemon needed a rest. We could all do with finding something to eat too.

[Shadow Slayer]

You walked through the town, seeing many houses and various people entering and leaving them. One building in particular looked busy, and a sign said it was the fisherman's guild. Wonder what that was about?

In no time, you made it to the pokemon center. Looking up you saw many wingull flying about, but they didn't seem to want to bother you right now.

After leaving the centre. I was eager to explore. I wanted to know what this town was like, so, new pokemon in hand. I set out on my trip.

[Shadow Slayer]

You began to walk around the town, spotting the gym immediately. It looked like a bunch of trainers were leaving the gym unhappy. Maybe the leader here was tough?

You also saw a bunch of fisherman head on out to the ocean to do some fishing. Some headed to the docks, where you could see various boats that were about to set sail, others just returning. Were there islands you could go to from here?

You eventually came across a wingull, level 13 and female. She flew down from above, and challenged you to a battle.

"Ok, time for your first match Scruffy. Come out and use howl and follow it up with a good old fasion tackle attack!" I called, tossing his ball as I called it out.

The poocheyna howled to the sky, raising its attack up a notch. Wingull then used growl, lowering it back down. The dog ran forward, tackling hard into the bird for some good damage! Wingull pecked it back...

Wingull:

Poocheyna: Less than

"Scruffy. Use a sand attack and follow it up with a tackle attack again!" I called, again he was lower level, so I didn't have an awful lot to work with.

[Shadow Slayer]

Scruffy kicked up sand at the wingull, but the bird was unaffected due to its ability, Keen Eye! It used supersonic, sending sound waves towards Poocheyna to confuse it, but it missed.

Scruffy then tackled into the wingull, as it sprayed water at it back...

"Scruffy. Nice dodge. Ok, run in close, then use howl and follow it up with a tackle attack!" I called to him, "Try running zigzag to dodge attacks!"

[Shadow Slayer]

The doggy howled, raising his attack up a notch. Wingull screeched loudly, sending sound waves towards Poocheyna, confusing it! Wingull then sprayed Poocheyna with more water, as the dog tackled into it...

Wingull: less than

Poocheyna: , Confused, +1 Attack

"Ok, scruffy. Return. Lets go Magnus, use a tackle attack!" I called hoping the switch was a good choice..

[Shadow Slayer]

Magnus took Scruffy's place, and was sprayed on with a water gun attack. But the attack didn't do too much damage, and Magnus shook himself like a dog to get the water off. Using Tackle, the grass type smashed into wingull, knocking it out! Catch Wingull?

And suddenly, you saw Chikorita was evolving!

I still didn't have any pokeballs to catch wingull.
Instead I turned my attention to Magnus, smiling. I knew now what was going on. "Excellent Magnus. If you are ready you go for it buddy." I said softly.

(Sorry, but in my profile, Poochyena is put as Poocheyna. It just bugs me lol. Tell me if I bug you, but I just thought I would let you know.. Sorry..)

The little Chikorita was surrounded by a white light, as it increased in size, evolving into Bayleef! It now had a longer tail, a little "cut" in its leaf on its head, was now a yellow color, and was much more powerful!

A Krabby, level 19 and male, walked up to you and your Bayleef, surprised by the evolution. It pointed at you and your pokemon, wishing to battle your newly evolved starter...

"If you're up for another match. I am." I told Magnus, smiling as he nodded and stood tall as he was now.
"Ok, lets do this Magnus. Use a Growl and follow it up with Tackle!" I called enthusiastically. I really hoped to win this, partly because Krabby were cool, but I needed to get some more pokeballs before I could try catching anything.

[Shadow Slayer]

The Krabby used leer, staring right at the Bayleef, lowering the defensive power of your grass type! Krabby's attack then went down from the grass type's growling. Bayleef charged forward and smashed right into the Krabby, doing some good damage with the tackle. Krabby used bubble, which formed little bubbles that hit the grass type doing some damage, but not much at all.

Krabby: Less than , -1 Attack

Bayleef: , -1 Defense

"Alright, use a poison powder and follow it up with a quick fired razor leaf!" I called to Magnus, thinking it was awsome he was so big now..

[Shadow Slayer]

The Krabby used leer once more, lowering the defenses of Magnus' a notch. Poison suddenly appeared in a powder form from Magnus' leaf, which surrounded and poisoned the Krabby!

Krabby then was hit by sharp leaves, doing some impressive damage to the water type pokemon, as it used vicegrip, grabbing and throwing Magnus!

Magnus: , -2 Defense

Krabby: , Poisoned, -1 Attack

"Magnus, use your own weight to help yourself, then use a tackle attack and growl!" I called, hoping all this was ok and not just a 'foreign language' to my pokemon.

[Shadow Slayer]

The Krabby used vicegrip, grabbing onto Bayleef's body again and throwing him, doing some good damage! Bayleef tackled, for some more damage back. The two exchanged stat decreasing attacks, and krabby hung on from the poison...

Krabby: Less than , -2 Attack, Poisoned
