To Edmonton: Erik Gudbranson, 2012 4th round pick
To Winnipeg: Devante Smith Pelley
The Oilers are please to welcome Gudbranson to the organization. We know that he doesn't have a ton of offensive upside, but from our scouting reports, we know that he has been working very hard on his offensive side of the game this season. We also like the leadership skills and toughness he brings to the plate. We are sad to see DSP go, but feel he is expendible.

Confirmed. Devante gives us a great young forward who is already contributing at the NHL level so he satisfies two of our needs (forward depth and young winger) for the price of a young defenceman and low pick. We are sorry to see Guddy go but feel we had the depth at that position to make the move.
