The Forest, A secluded forest, unknown to all.

Lucifer snapped out of his dream-like state quickly. His composure was normally, despite the trauma of hearing those deaths again. Instinctively, he dived into the water, following Kaisa's body as quickly as he could. The water was freezing, and every pore in his body screamed for warmth. He ignored it, and carried on. Reaching Kaisa's unconcious body, he was taken aback momentarily by it's ghostliness. Lucifer quickly grabbed her and pulled her to the surface of the water. There, he checked for a pulse, and her breathing too. It all seemed fine, but he dragged her to the shore nonetheless. The chilling waters wouldn't have a positive effect on her. He ripped off his jacket, drying it instantaeneously with some summoned fire. Cautiously, her wrapped it around her, making sure that she would receive the warmth. Second, he called up a fire nearby, to provide a lasting heat. Then, he sat, waiting for her to wake. Kaiyla and Presea had appeared again, having transformed out of their boots form.

There was something wrong he could sense it. Zek sped through the trees his deer self reached Kaisa’s motionless form in less than a minute, he hastily transformed and knelt by her desperately clutching her hand it was ice cold her whole body was frigid almost like a statue. ‘What happened? Why was she in the water did she fall?’ he stuttered his face white with shock and his body shook in fear, his eyes unmovingly fixated themselfs on Lucifer.

Lucifer stared at Zek, his eyes calm and blank, as if nothing had happened. "She's just collapsed, don't worry." His voice was soft, and soothing. He moved a way back from Zek and Kaisa, so he could fret in peace. Lucifer's face half covered in shadow, hiding his eyes as they changed to a blood red. Kaiyla and Presea sensed the change, and moved closer to him.

Kaisa’s eyes feebly opened as she squinted in the firelight warmth flooded her body as she leaned towards the heat of the flames. Her golden eyes were bloodshot and dim but she managed to look up into the frantic face of her faithful shape shifter, he was still clutching her hand fiercely as if by doing this he could protect her from her nightmares…her curse, she smiled at this thought and tightened her hold on his hand through the good, the bad and the ugly she knew he would certainly not leave her side.
But yet he was not the one she wanted to see ‘Lucifer…?’ her voice was croaky and rough her head spun and violently protested as she forced herself to sit up, Zek ordered her to lie down to rest, but his hysterical voice was lost as she stared into the darkness for Lucifer.

Lucifer's eyes snapped open. He had fallen into uneasy dreams, but Kaisa's voice sounded out as clear as anything he had heard in his life. "I'm here." He said, his face still concealed. Kaiyla and Presea watched Zek warily, prepared for another one of his outbursts. "What's wrong, Kaisa? Are you feeling alright?" Lucifer's voice was once again back to normal, eloquent and soothing, but worry hinted itself in there somewhere.

‘I’m…fine’ Kaisa could tell something was up Lucifer’s voice sounded the same as it always did calm in control. But right now it sounded fake a layer of lies had been laid upon it. It was her fault, memories had almost destroyed her, It was so easy to remember and so hard to forget. She began to panic, she was endangering everyone and she was a burden that selfishly thought it had the right to have friends…a family. Her memories were coming back now…fast too fast…she couldn’t take it…she blacked out and collapsed again into Zek’s arms.

Lucifer watched, indifferent. It seemed commonplace now, that he should just wait for her to wake instead of trying to help. Her guardian, whatever his name was, would take care of her. Kaiyla and Presea relaxed, and both decided to dance on the lake. He watched them for a moment, but returned to his stoicness within minutes. His eyes had returned to normal, but beneath the surface he was hoping that Kaisa would wake soon.

Zek sighed and gently started to remove the twigs and leaves from Kaisa’s matted hair as she lay there defenceless in his arms.
Kaisa’s eyes unexpectantly shot open but her eyes weren't gold they were a bottomless jet black, ‘shit!’ Zek yelled grabbed Lucifer’s arm and focused all his energy into Kaisa, they lurched straight into her bottomless eyes and into her soul.

Small flickering objects surrounded them as they floated in the void, they were pulled towards a large pulsating ball of light, voices could be heard whispering unintelligible nonsense a language unknown to all but Kaisa, Zek knew she was in there so he had to follow pulling Lucifer along almost unconsciously. They then both stepped through the barrier into the light.

Kaisa sat crumpled in a corner her eyes wide with unimaginable fear as she watched a young brunette boy of about 9 years step up onto a chair and smiling at Kaisa he jumped off, his body swung there as the rope cut into his skin a trail of blood silently flowing down his neck the smile still plastered on his juvenile face.

The boy slowly started to fade and a blonde girl of about 12 years stood in his place a large knife held tightly in her hand as she held it up to her head, the same blissful smile positioned on her face like a mask. Kaisa screamed but the girl just laughed and stabbed the knife deep into her skull, pulling it out before she plunged it back in, blood poured down her face as she laughed gleefully. She suddenly dropped the knife and psychotically started ripping apart her head with her bare hands, Kaisa screamed and screamed begging for her to stop. It was no use the girl ignored her and laughed harder ripping out her eyes and throwing them at Kaisa's feet, though the girls bleeding sockets seemed to stare only harder at Kaisa, like they were begging her to save her friend, her only friend.
Slowly the girl finally fell to the ground. The face was mangled beyond recognition but you could still see the forced smile frozen on her lips.

Lucifer continued to watch, speechless. Another memory brought itself through in front of Kaisa. A young boy, similar in appearance to Kaisa, watched her with wide eyes and the same, psychotic grin of the pervious suicides. He brought out from behind him a sharp, but short knife. Lucifer tried to shut his eyes, but they remained glued open. Only horror awaited him as he watched the boy's gruesome suicide. Kaisa's scream grew louder, more hysterical. He broke free from Zek's grasp and moved across to her. He covered his fear, hid it from her view. He touched her hand softly, and with a soothing voice spoke into her ear, so that she could hear.
"Let's get out of here."

Kaisa couldn’t move. All the memories were still living inside all those children were dead because of her. Even now she couldn’t control her curse, it destroyed the young naïve minds of her close friends and family, she could only sit and watch as one by one they became twisted by the images she had forced them to see. Most of them came to a point where it was better just to die. Lucifer was talking to her but she could hear nothing the screams of laughter still echoed in her ears, that smile branded forever in her mind. A pair of strong arms lifted her up and took her away from that room and the nightmares within.

She woke up her eyes glinted in the early morning light, next to her sat Zek noticing she was awake he smiled and quickly helped her sit up, ‘Zek…I remembered everything, I thought you said that wouldn’t happen with the barrier there’ she whispered her normally placid expression was crumpled up in fear and confusion as she looked up for answers in her guardians face, ‘Kaisa I warned you before, every time I make a barrier there is always that risk of you totally losing your sanity, I can’t risk making a stronger one’ he said gravely his eyes down turned avoiding her hopeful expression. ‘ Please Zek just try…I…I can’t risk losing control…I cant kill again Zek…please…’ she begged her eyes filled with unhappiness and greif, she knew if she lost control again it might be Zek who was killed and she couldn’t take that risk not now, not ever.

Lucifer watched the spectacle. He had never realised that Kaisa had gone through so much pain beforehand. The image of the young boy, her brother, was glued in front of his eyes. He realised now why she had run away.

Without a word, he walked away. He was only interfering here.

Zek stood up his eyes focused on the leaves whispering across the ground as he walked away from the girl, she didn’t realise the dangers involved why didn’t she ever think ahead. As he walked into the forest his heightened senses distracted him from his thoughts they were telling him something unusual Lucifer wasn’t in the clearing, he wasn’t even near the clearing at all, what the hell was he doing didn’t he care for Kaisa’s sanity at all, though he may hate the human Kaisa liked him or at least thought he was interesting and in her fragile state of mind god knows what she might do if another ‘friend’ deserted her. ‘Idiot’ Zek growled and in a burst of frenzied light he transformed and flew above the trees, spotting the human he sped along the river and landed nearby on a branch, ‘So what the hell do you think your doing leaving so soon’ he hissed.

Lucifer stopped. Zek's voice had pierced him like an arrow. He wheeled around and looked at him straight in the eye. Lucifer's own eyes were a pure and mily white. "I'm leaving because I have no place here, it seems I was wrong about her obeying fate." He watched Zek warily, prepared for any sudden attack. Kaiyla and Presea sharpened their forms, turning into more ferocious arm pieces that covered his shoulder in a mass of archaic and dark designs.

‘Funny that you think you can just leave without even speaking to Kaisa, do you have no feelings for her at all or is it that you don’t care what this is going to do to her mentally’ he questioned disgust lacing his voice, The sharpened claws digging deeper inscriptions into the wood as he angrily glared at his opponent.

Lucifer remained silent. This time, it was Kaiyla who responded, shifting out of her form. She grasped Lucifer's free hand firmly and answered for him. "That's exactly the reason he's doing it. He doesn't want to screw up yet another life. He sees too much of his past in Kaisa, and that's killing him!" She yelled. Lucifer's eyes averted themselves from Zek, taking in every minute detail of the gauntlet Presea had created. Kaiyla was right, he did have feelings for Kaisa, and he did want to say goodbye. But his past was buried, and Kaisa was acting as a shovel, digging it up slowly. He had to stop it.
