Lost


A single phone call,
A single minute,
In a insignificant life,
Caused so much pain,
I was ripped apart,
And discarded
Now I am lost.

Tears silently fell
Don’t cry I begged,
For I knew if you did,
I would break apart,
You more than anyone,
I wish to be happy.

Selfishly I asked for one word,
So at least while we are apart,
I can protect a precious memory,
You will never be forgotten,
It would be impossible to do so.

I sat there,
The phone was dead,
I still wish I could join it.
