Another month of promotions, so if you feel that you deserve to be
promoted [or are Aspiring and haven't been yet], please fill out the form
at the bottom of the post. You can nominate yourself and two (2) other
people, but make sure that you really feel that you deserve it. We will
only promote those we feel really have deserved the promotion. Of
course, there's no harm in trying, but just know that not everyone always
gets promoted <3 [However, if you are in Aspiring, you will get promoted
for sure, as we have a group for everyone (;].
Promotions applications are open until MARCH 2ND.

If you wish to get promoted in the graphics rankings, please post below with the appropriate form. Make sure to read the requirements. They are different, depending on whether you have been promoted in the past or are still an Aspiring Artist. <3

coding promotions!

For coding promotions, skins & doHTML templates will be taken into consideration (no UBBC templates - sorry! <3). However, we know that a lot of coders have only done skins, not doHTML templates. Neither type is required (so if you only do skins or only doHTML templates, that's perfectly fine). However, if you want to get into Inspiring+, you will need to do skins for sure. Please read the requirements for further details.

Great compositions. Everything is looking so creative, so keep working on your compositions in general. With your icons, keep stepping out of the box with the cropping and composition of them. They're great, but just keep practicing and experimenting. <3 I'd love to see you do some more blends and may be with more than one person in the blend as well to make it even more interesting. Keep working on your text placement. Sometimes it can be a little plain (like in the 'forever' signature, but other times it's more interesting, like in the 'goodbye' banner), so keep working on it. <3

I see great improvements. Your new icons are great with the cropping and compositions and the compositions of all your graphics in general. Keep working on not overlapping too many stocks together. It looks a little too much sometimes, but a good way to avoid it not look as good is to make it black and white, I've found. It's not as noticable when it's black and white. <3 Also, keep working on your text - font choice, placement and also not being white a lot of the time. Keep it up - you've improved so much. (: <3

Great improvements! I especially love the dark Clemence blend and the 'Look' signature - they're really great! Some cleaning of signatures is needed and I'd love to see you really experiment with textures/stock in your icons more as well as text sometimes as well. Also, to be really sure, I'd like to see some more blends. Keep working on your banners. The new ones are really great! Honestly, I think I see the greatest improvements from you this time and it's really great. In general, make more blends, icons and banners, take out some not as good signatures (clean) and just keep working on your compositions like you've been doing. I think your graphics look better with more than one person, generally. It makes it a lot more interesting, so you should definitely do more of that. Keep it up. (: <3

You have some great graphics, especially your blends (and definitely the new moon and 'she is everything i need' blends <3). Really try to work on not fading out your colours too much (like in the first set of icons and the first two signatures (rihanna & 'pain')). Your colourization is great - you should do more of them. Keep working on your compositions, especially blending more than one person in your signatures more often because it looks a lot more interesting when you do. Keep it up. (: <3

You are very close and have such great compositions and graphics in general. Your banners are very good, especially. <3 However, try to be careful using topaz clean a little too much, especially in the smaller graphics like the roswell icons and the dakota signature. It looks better in the Natalie Portman signature, but still a little too much. May be tone it down on the person because the stock looks fine, but sometimes having it be the same degree on all the graphic can be a little too much. But anyway, in general, just clear out some of the older graphics and make some more blends or colourizations. Mostly, there are headers and chapter images in that section (which are great, by the way <3), but I really need to see more large blends to be sure (large as in, larger than chapter images <3). So just try to work on that because you have such lovely graphics, you're just getting high up in the ranks now, so it gets a little more picky. <3

You have some really lovely graphics here. <3 I especially love your last blend as well as the compositions of your icons. They're very creative. For the next level, I'd love to see more story banners (700x110) and it would also help to not have so many thumbnails, so we can see all of your graphics together (at least the icons and signatures for sure <3). Also, here, 500x200 is labeled as a signature, not a banner, which is why I'm asking to see some more banners. (: Keep working on your text use. Sometimes it's perfect, while other times its a little awkward. And in your signatures (firmas), it seems like it's around the same spot (to the left and down a bit), so try to mix it up and really experiment with your text as well as the rest of your graphic. Keep it up - you have such great potential and very lovely compositions as well. (: <3

You have such creative and interesting compositions. It's really great to see. <3 Your banners are very creative, as are your blends and your signatures as well. And your icon cropping is improving as well. There are a couple of things dragging you down a little, though, since your compositions are so creative, so there's nothing plain about them. (: <3 First of all, keep working to make the image quality high. It might be because of the colouring? Sometimes curves makes the image quality less, if you're using it? <3 Also, keep remembering to erase the stock/textures off of the people's faces (like Ian in the 'falling' banner). You have a very good grasp on vocabulary and sentence flow in your stories - everything has great description and makes sense. To get to the next level I would suggest working more on your poetry. Your poems are very good but most of them have the same sort of structure when it comes to rhythm and rhyming. You've improved so much and it's great to see. Overall, keep working on your compositions, text, etc. Everything is coming along greatly, though, and you're definitely on the right track. You just need to keep taking it to that next level by practicing and making more graphics. But overall, try to focus on your blends more at the moment. I think some might be older as well (like the unfulfilled blend), so those should be taken out. Amazing colourizations! They look so realistic and it's great to see them done the way you do them, like they're an original photo just slightly adjusted (some colourizations look good, but are definitely obvious that they're colourizations, but most of your's are very flawless <3). Keep trying to work on the compositions of your signatures and blends and the text as well. Sometimes it's obvious what the focal point is (like in the Rachel McAdams signature, because the picture on the right is clearly bigger and more attention grabbing <3), but others aren't as obvious (like in the Lea Michele blend and Taylor Swift signature). So keep trying to work on that as well as your icons in general (cropping, composition, etc. <3). Keep it up - you're doing great. (: <3

Icon composition is very creative. I really need to see more graphics to be sure, though, especially some more blends and newer signatures. I'd take out the 'Together' and 'Mysteries' signatures as they're a little old. Your banners are great [though 'Mystery' is a little too dark <3]. Keep it up 'cause I see such great improvements. You're actually almost there. <3 The main thing that's holding you back is image quality. I think that you're oversharpening some of the images that aren't as good of quality. And on that note, always remember to choose high quality images. Some of your blends are quite good with that, but not as much with the icons and signatures, so try to work on that. <3 Also, I love your banners and your signatures are coming along too. Keep practicing on your blends. It seems to me that you're just not quite as comfortable with them as you are with your signatures & banners (they look like mine used to, in that way <3). Keep it up because you're doing great. (: <3

Very lovely colours and text. Keep working on your icons in general (making more of them would be good <3) and on your composition in general. You have a good use of negative space, but I'd love to see you branch out and fill up the backgrounds more sometimes as well. It's good to be versatile. (: Your darker graphics are interesting as well (quite a lot different from your very bright graphics <3), but make sure not to make them too dark (like the blend <3). Keep up the great work. (: <3

I think you're getting quite close to Evolving, but you really need to clean out your gallery (first two icon sets, candy & table banners, mercy, paper hearts & free signatures, taylor, breakout & breakdown blends, last colourization). But your Miley & Emma icon compositions are so creative. I'd love to see more like that. Your colouring and compositions are coming along in general. Try to work on your text placement, not being too far from the focus point (like in the second banner). It's very good in the sweet serenity banner, though. <3 So keep it up, clean out your gallery and keep working on your text. I love all the improvements I see, though. (: <3

There are some things to clean, but you have such great compositions of your icons and banners, especially. <3 Everything's so creative and different - it's great to see. Really try to work on your text right now, though, since everything else is looking quite good. Sometimes it's too simple (like in the Alex & Brea signature), but then it looks great in the (your love is a drug signature). So really just try to step out of the box when compositing the text as well. It's all a part of the graphic: text, colouring, composition, etc. Great work here, so keep it up. (: <3

You have some great graphics here, but a couple of things are holding you back a little. I think they won't be that hard to work on, though. (: First of all, I love that you're using textures and such for your icons. Just be wary of over doing it on the people (especially their faces, like in the 'clock is ticking' signature <3). Also, I think that sometimes, the graphic looks oversaturated because it was darkened quite a bit and with the colouring already over it, it makes it look oversaturated (it happens to me sometimes). So when that happens, I'd suggest desaturating it a little as well. You have some great compositions. They're very creative and different from each other, which is great to see. Keep it up and focus on those things for now (as well as the colour of text sometimes <3). You're doing so well, but those are just some things that will improve your graphics a lot, I believe. (: <3

You have quite good icon croppings and your graphics are very creative, which is great to see. Your banners are very lovely as well. (: In some of your graphics, though, they look quite pixelly from oversharpening. I don't know if they're just old or what not, but also be careful about using curves (if you do). Sometimes curves can make the image quality go down as well. Other than that, keep working on the colouring and texture use, not being too much over the people and really just keep experimenting with the compositions and the text. I see improvements here, so keep it up. (: <3

You have some good compositions here, but the one thing that is really holding you back is the resizing. If you're using the transform tool to resize the images, make sure to click shift before you drag (and hold it down) so that the resizing won't be too squished in any direction. <3 Also, keep working on your blending, really just knowing when to soft blend and when to hard cut blend. When it's a background that the people really blend into, soft blending definitely works (usually with stock that's around the same lighting and such, this works too <3). But when it's a texture or a more solid background (or the background is lighter or darker than the people), hard cut blending would be better. So keep working on your graphics, updating, and then taking out the old things. You have such great potential and it's great to see. (: <3

You're off to a great start here, Lorna! There's a couple of things I'd like to see you work on to get promoted higher - first off, most of your work here is fanfic. While it's great to write fanfictions, I'd like to see you find some more of your own characters, based in your world, rather than that of fandoms. Secondly, I'd like to see you work on varying your sentence structure and expanding your vocabulary, as well as keeping an eye out for silly mistakes, like too versus to and so forth. Try proof-read your work before you post it. I'd like to see you work some imagery into your writing, to really elevate it. Also, look out for how you structure your work - try for some lengthier paragraphs as well as short ones, also, there's no need for two lines between paragraphs, I'd encourage you to stick with standard formatting. Definitely need to see more graphics in the sections for Promising (at least three sections having a significant amount (3 or so)). But anyway, really try to keep working on your blending as well as image quality. If you use the magic lasso to cut people, try not to, since it really doesn't do a good job most of the time (I've found so, anyway <3). Also, I'd love to see you keep experimenting with text more. I know it can be tempting to not do text at all, since it is quite frustrating, but you've just gotta keep practicing. (: But anyway, your icons are quite lovely. The image quality is good and the banner has great stock use. So keep practicing with your blends more and making more new graphics. (: <3

Your signatures are quite good, but there are a couple of things that are holding you back from further promotion. <3 First of all, your icons are quite nice, but the textures and text are a bit too much. In icons, it's best to have a simple font for your text, since it's so small, and a bit less text in general. <3 I think your signatures are your best, especially the 'time flies' signature. It's really great. (: <3 Your banners and blends are coming along quite nicely. Keep working on the backgrounds in your banners and your font choice and text in general. May be add a small drop shadow, outline or gradient to enhance the main text sometimes? You don't have to do it all the time, but sometimes it can really help to add just a bit more to the graphic. (: You have such good works here and are so close to Blooming, so keep updating and making more graphics. (: <3

Your poetry is very outstanding, but we need to see more from you in the short story region. There's really only one story there, and we'd like to see more range from you in order to promote you higher. You have great compositions and colouring. For further promotion, I'd really like to see you step out of the box more with your text composition as well as to keep making creative icons. Your banners are very creative, but keep trying to use stock/textures and text to make your icons creative as well. (: Your signatures are coming along, though some seem a bit older and not as good, so keep updating that section and taking out the older things. <3 I'd love to see more blends from you for further promotion as well. You have colourizations, though, which is good. (: They're also lovely, but the skin seems a little too yellow, so keep working on that. You're very close, but I think you have to make a lot more new graphics and take out the old ones. Your icons are good, but I'd love to see more with creative compositions like you've been doing. (: Your newest signature ('glamour fades') is amazing. <3 I think you need to take out the older ones and make lots of new ones. <3 With your banners, your first and third banners (love song & window view) are very great and flow so nicely. I think you should take out the last one, though, because there isn't any text so it's not as good as the others and the second one because it just doesn't flow as well as your other banners and the composition isn't as good (aka I think it's just older, yes? <3). Your blends are really coming along. I especially love the 'walk slow' blend. With all the different text and interesting placements of the people, it comes together so nicely. The epiphany and on fire ones are good as well, though I think you should take out the 'ignite' blend. It just doesn't come together as well as the other ones. <3 So really, right now, I think that you're really improving quite a bit, but you need to clear out the older things and make lots of new things to replace them. You have such great improvements, so keep experimenting and updating your gallery. (: <3

I think that you're quite close to Talented. Your doHTML templates are very creative, especially the blog one. I think that may be you should try to really expand how you do your skins with some of them. Like may be in terms of having the top links, nav bar, .thin, etc. be very different than the normal way that you do your skins. You have such amazing graphics lately. <3 Your text is amazing and your compositions are so different and unique, which is great to see. For further promotion, try to really work on your icon compositions (the last two sets are very good, though <3) and clean out a couple of your signatures. It's strange because what you need to work on in your signatures is just fine in your icons, so I'm sure that you can do it. <3 The main thing in your signatures is that the colours are faded out too much (may be too much exclusion? <3). Your 'flash' signature looks very good, though. <3 So try o fix that and your graphics will look a lot better. (: And keep remembering to sharpen your images, though not too much so that it's pixelly, to really make them look crisp and clean (especially try to remember in the icons. <3 but they'll need different levels of sharpening, since they're cropped differently (so a close up face wouldn't be as sharpened as a zoomed out face)). But I'm sure you know that. I just thought I would say it anyway. <3 Your banners are lovely, though the colours in the first one are too faded out, so it's hard to see the beautiful stock in the background. Keep up the good work. (: <3

You have some very lovely colouring. It's not too oversaturated, but it's not plain either. (: Generally, try to work on your text. Sometimes the placement is a little off (like in the icons - try not to have it be too much over the faces <3) and sometimes the colour or font isn't as fitting to the feeling of the graphic. So really just try to keep experimenting with your text and compositions. And with your banners, try to work on blending the images so it flows a lot better between all of the images in the graphic. <3 I love how there's a lot to your banners, though, but that's just something that will really make them a lot better. (: The 'you still see her' banner is very good in that regard, though. (: And generally, in your banners, it might help to have smaller text (but still legible), since it is only slightly taller than an icon, so sometimes it's best to try and remember that and approach the text that way. Great icons and blends. In your icons, keep working on the text (the last set is great, though, because it's smaller <3). I think you should take out the first three signatures. The composition is a bit too simple (well I know because the first two are older <3) and also because it's mostly just the person. There's a lot more to the other three signatures because you can see more of the background. (: I'd love to see you really try to work on your text. A lot of the time you put it on the person's cheek, which can work sometimes, but not all of the time (especially in the banners when, horizontally, there's a lot of room <3). Your blends are great, so keep experimenting with your compositions and working on the text and signatures. (: <3

Although your prose is much closer to the inspiring level, we feel that your poetry is still promising. To get to the next level, we'd like to see your experiment with form, style and rhyming schemes. You definitely have your the basics down, your writing is deliciously readable, and you have some very interesting ideas. To advance higher, I suggest you proof read your work some more, your comma usage sometimes breaks the flow of your pieces - think of it this way, a comma signifies a spoken pause - try reading your work out loud. This will help your flow a lot. Also, I'd like to see you try for more variety with your poetry - play around with rhyme schemes etc. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but you can do more. What she has is good, but there is still some fine-tuning to be done. The biggest red flag for me is the contrast between the colors she uses for backgrounds to her templates and skins and the the colors she uses for fonts. The contrast is very low and sometimes the text seems to blend into the background. I think her skill level is at Talented, however I feel she should expand beyond her usual style before it becomes a habit. She oftentimes uses the same font styles, has rounded borders, and uses opacity a lot. I just feel that to be in a higher rank she needs to break outside of her box and touch base with areas she isn't very comfortable or used to, especially light skins (or skins with striking colors) and doHTML. Some of your signatures are more Evolving, but I think you need to clear out some of the not as good ones. Also, really try to work on the croppings in your icons, making it interesting all the time. Some of them are very good, while others don't quite pop out as much as they could due to the placement/size of the people. <3 Your blends are lovely, as are your banners, but just keep experimenting with your banner compositions, making it flow between all the stock used in the banners. <3 Overall, quite try to work on your text. Sometimes it's great, while other times it is smaller when it would look better larger, vice versa, or not quite placed in the right spot. Generally, you just need to keep working on it, but it's lovely in some pieces for sure, so I know that you can. You just need to keep focusing on it, practicing and experimenting. (: <3

You have some lovely icons. Keep experimenting with texture use and text in them because it makes them a lot more interesting when you use those in your icons. <3 With all of your graphics in general, I'd love to see some work on your compositions. They're lovely, though also simple sometimes, which can be good, but it's always great to be versatile in your graphics. (: The same thing goes with your text. Try to really step out of the box with the composition of it. This goes for placement in general, but also may be adding some sub-text sometimes, or some sub-text in a different part of the graphic (usually good for blends and banners), or even having it be on an angle or have some sort of effect on it. Really, just try to take it to the next level.

In general, though, you definitely need to clean out some of the older graphics (even the colourizations) because you've improved a lot and the older things aren't as good anymore. <3 Also, in the great compositions you have in your blends & collages, I'd love to see you keep experimenting with your signatures and icons compositions as well as try some story banners. You have some great potential here with everything. Your icon compositions are all so interesting and your signatures are wonderful as well. Your banners are great, but keep trying to work on making the stocks flow from one to the other in your banner. They flow very well in the last three, but not as much in the first two. Your blends are lovely as well. I think right now, you really need to practice a lot and also clean out the older things (a couple of the signatures and banners <3). You're doing great, so I think the biggest thing you need to focus on doing right now is making more graphics. Whether it's finding the time or the muse, I hope you find it somehow so you can make lots to practice more. (: <3

Lovely icons. (: Your signatures are nice as well, but try to work on not overdoing it on the textures (especially on the people and especially the grungy looking ones - but sometimes they do look better if you make it black and white <3). Also, keep working on your text placement (usually not as good if it's near the edges/bottom of the graphic <3) as well as the stock flowing through the graphic so it almost looks like one scene. It's hard to tell, since you don't have a lot of signatures, banners or any blends here, so really try to make lots of new graphics so it will be easier for us to see and also because it's always great practice anyway. Your icons are gorgeous, though your new ones are a little plain, but still lovely. Your signatures are wonderful as well, but I'd love to see more of them. (: What was holding you back last time was your banners because they were a little on the simple side compared to the rest of your graphics, but they are so much better now, especially the green fields banner. You should definitely make more banners, in general. (: Your blends are amazing as always. I love how you don't just stick to one certain style. Textures, stock, collage, super pen skills, you do it all. Keep experimenting and doing what you do best. (: <3
