The Rules


General Posting Restrictions


1) SPAMMING anywhere other than the spam forum is not allowed, by

spamming I mean posting unecessary text, images or adverts that dont

contribute to the website


2) Pornographic content is banned on all boards including SPAM AND

CHAT. This is prohibited and will cause a user immeadiate deletion if

he/she should post Pornography. Likewise racial, sexist, agist, heightest or any

stereotyped prejudice is not allowed on Sectumsempra.


3) All posts must follow on from the root of the topic, of a topic is

about coming to hogwarts you cant change it and transform into a

turtle, it doesnt follow on and is annoying.


4)Text speak is not allowed, standard english is the only language

allowed unless your character speaks another language, then that is

acceptable in parts of role playing.


5) When Making a topic you do not make one for the sake of it, you make

one to add to your story line and allow other people to come on to the

topic.

Example of bad topic making:

<Squall walked into the room, picked up the parcel and left the room>

The above example isnt good becaus it is a waste of a topic, you have

just come in and gone out again and it doesnt leave it open for people

to come into a topic either. Ultimately those topics will get closed

because of lack of replies.

Leave your topics open.


6)On Sectumsempra we like to achieve a pleasant, nice environment to participate in, this

means we share respect(Members and Admins alike) EVERYONE will respect

EVERYONE else in their opinions, beliefs. Yes you can disagree but argue the point

not make personal blows at the person. This is mandatory, failure to comply will

mean suspension.



Registration and Sorting



1) When you register ensure that your character has a first and last

name, both with the first letter capitalised.


2) All characters will need to apply in the sorting hat, failure will

mean deletion.


3) You need to specifiy a prefered house, however you may not get your

house if we think that your character would be better in another

house.


4) If you wish to play an adult character then you post in the

designated sorting topic.


5) If you wish to play a canon character then you must apply after

you have already accumalated 100 posts with another non-canon character, with

the correspnding app to the age of the canon character. Harry, for example, is 17,

and therefore you will have apply with the app for students.

canons must be active, if there goes by 3 days of canon inactivity the character

will be deleted. also, you may only play one canon character at a time


6) Canon Teachers are not allowed. The minister of magic is not

allowed. Any canon with automatic authority is not allowed.


7) right, you signed up, plugged in your app and you are sorted. START

PLAYING THE GAME. There is no need to thank us, no need to leave a

comment in the srting hat. No need at all.

8) Talking animals are not allowed. by animal, we mean muggle animal. House

Elves etc... are still allowed and are welcomed onto Sectumsempra.

9) When applying for a character of any type, you must provide the weaknesses

asked for, or you will not be sorted, and told to provide the necessary information.

Scars are not considered a physically weakness unless very serious, such as a

large burn scar, or a large scar that is visable all the time.

10) every character must be house in the UK and ROI. foreign exchange students

and characters from overseas are not allowed.


Playing the Game



1) Once you are sorted and are ready to begin the game READ OTHER POSTS

to get a feel of how it is to RP.


2)Your character must be played realistically, he/she must have

strengths, weaknesses, emotions. Without these your character is not

real and you may as well be a god, if this is the case you will be

warned, then further offenses you will be deleted.


3) Godding/Godsmending isnt allowed, you cannot dictate another

characters actions. for example:

<Squall shot avadra kedavra at Draco, he died>

This is not allowed and after an initial warning and banning an admin

or supermod reserves the right to take further action: Suspension and

banning.


4) Spells/hexes must either be taught by the subject teacher or from

the harry potter books/games/films you cannot make up your own spells.


5) Sex is not allowed anywhere on the board at all. if any sexual act is noticed, an

admin will suspend you


6) No student is stronger than any teacher or adult!!!!!! A teacher

will always beat you in a fight because they have more experiance and

are more powerful. However students have the right to resist imperio

and dodge crucio and the killing curse, they also have the right to not

allow legilimens.

However in game training may overule this, for example if a student has

had training by an auror or more powerful wizard then the student would

indeed be more powerful. This has to happen in game.


7) If you play a teacher character you MUST post a lesson at least once

every three weeks. Failure to do this will mean removal from the position.


Ranks

If a Mod tells you to do something, a Super Mod can overule it ONLY if

what the Mod said is unfair. If a Super Mod tells you to do something,

an Admin can overule it ONLY if what the Super Mod said is unfair.



Animagi Restrictions



1) No one is allowed to become an animagus without being selected from

a quarterly draw.


2) If you get drawn in a year quarter then you have the choice of

beoming an animagus, you can choose any muggle animal.


3) Magical animals, or muggle animals with magic are not allowed unless

authorised by a member in the group "admin".


4) You are not allowed to transform into an animagus form that a

current animagus transforms into, however if the person give you

permission to replicate that animagus you may become the same animal.


5) None human characters are rare to be in a school, and therefore, few will be

allowed. if your character is Veela, or Vampire, or anything part-human or

otherwise, this must be included in your application or your account will be

deleted. if you do not get admin permission you cannot RP a non-human


Signatures



Signatures are not allowed to contain more than one image

Signatures are allowed to contain a small text or banner advertisment.

Signatures are not allowed to contain any pornographic content

Signature size is at the disgression of admins

Signatures of Celebrities should not be passed off as your own character. no-one on this site is Brad Pitt, so please don't try to say you look like him. you may have signatures of celebs as long as they are not "your character"

If your signature is a photo sig, this must not be a picture that you are passing of as your character, unless it is a pic of yourself.

Any abuse of these rules, or going against these rules will cause for punishment of some kind at the dissgression of the admins, depending on the seriousness a simple warning may be given by either a supermod or admin.
