[Serena Mydlex]

Serena sighed, then bent down to pick up her books. Her bag just split, and all of her books had hit the floor, spilling parchment and homework everywhere. Thank god she bewitched her ink bottles not to break, otherwise.. well, she'd be in a worse situation. Quickly, she gathered her History of Magic Essay, and her Potions essay. She piled her books ontop of one another, then pulled her ash, dragon-heartstring wand from her pocket.

"Reparo."

Immediatley the bag mended itself, and she pulled all of her books back into her bag. 'finally, it's my own fault.. couldn't have bought that other bag in Diagon Alley... that one looked much stronger.'

She straightened up, her long wave of red hair stretching down her back. It was around five-o'clock, lessons had ended.

Neil walked along the corridors wondering how long he had been wandering for. After about that much time seeing as he had ditched his last class he had found the halls empty of people. He usually got bored of charms which was why he was fond of ditching that class especially when it was the last class to be had of the day. Turning a corner he spotted a girl bending down and picking up her fallen items as he walked over to help she stood up her long hair falling behind her. He smiled and walked forwards.

"You new here?" he asked as he picked up a quill he spotted in a corner farther away from her. Handing it to her he smirked wondering why he had never seen her before.

Serena looked startled as a voice came out of nowhere. Whirling around, she spotted a boy and relaxed, seeing as he was offering her one of her quills. "Thanks," she said, stuffing it back into her bag. She fastened the buckles of her bag then turned back to him, looking him over. A Slytherin no doubt, she sighed.

"I've been here for five years.. I guess I just haven't run into you."

Neil smirked, "No problem," he said watching her carefully. He paused then smirked, "Oh guess I just never noticed you, I'm Neil," he offered as he leaned against the wall.

She smiled, brushing back a stray lock of red hair. "I'm Serena, nice to meet you Neil," offering her hand out to him, while keeping a death grip on her books and bag. She didn't want it to fall again.. she wasn't sure how long the Unbreakable Charm would last. She smiled again at Neil.

"So, you're from Slytherin, eh?"

He smirked and shook her hand lightly, while looking at her books which she held firmly afriad they might fall. He knew he would regret what he was about to say later so he said it quickly so that his mind couldn't think about it and not let him say it.
"Do you need help with those?" he asked motioning to her books. Nodding his head he smirked, "Yeah is it that obvious?" he asked. "What house are you in?" he asked taking her books so she wouldn't have to struggle with them.

Serena smiled as he took her books from her. She could feel her arms throbbing as the heavy weight was lifted from here. She held her hands close to him, as so if he were to drop them, she would catch them, and prevent them from falling on his toes. "Thanks again," she said.

She nodded. "It wasn't too obvious, other than the fact that you have green on your robes." She motioned to the crest on her second hand robes. "Hufflepuff."

Carrying the books he realized it was easier to do than he had thought it would have been. Watching her hands he wondered if maybe she expected him to drop then, shaking his head he decided that so far she trusted him. "No problem," he said holding her books with a better grip so as to not drop them.

He laughed, "Well guess the tie and crest are self explanatory, though I don't go around seeing people's chest to find their crest," he admitted sheepishly, "Thats why I didn't place you in a house right away," he explained. Suddenly he winced slightly as she said hufflepuff but other than that he kept his face straight.

Serena nodded and retracted her hands. "Fair enough, I suppose." She saw him wince at the mention of her house. She shook her head. Obviously, a Slytherin wouldn't want to be caught carrying at Hufflepuff's books. That would just ruin their reputation.

Still, she wondered why he had, and she was willing to find out. Putting a hand in her pocket of her robes, she smiled again. "Why do you wince at the sound of Hufflepuff? Do you not want to get caught carrying one's books?"
