His fingers traced the harsh brick of the side of the building. They danced across the uneven surface, barely touching it. He didn’t feel a part of this place, at least not yet. Like a visitor listening in or merely passing through Alexander couldn’t press his fingers any closer to the old red brick of the school building. He wasn’t connected. Not to say that he resisted, Fox Academy would be his home for the next year. There wasn’t any use in trying to deny it. The idea of a mini-college excited him as well. There wasn’t taxes, he still wasn’t held accountable to his own learning and the rents hadn’t cut him off yet.

So he continued to roll lazily by, continuing his lonely game on the front lawn of the school. The skateboard carried it’s rider without much prodding and the smooth concrete provided an enjoyable ride. The prestige of the place intimidated him slightly. The old high school buildings with their unforgivable architecture, pointed and cold looking gave him the creeps. It was as if the walls were saying ‘Now, now, what new little freshmen do we have to eat up this year?’ Alexander wasn’t about to give into their bullshit, no way.

It was a perfect day to go skate. The warm air tickled Alexander’s face with sweet kisses and it wasn’t too hot to where you had to run for shade. Yes, it was a perfect day to skate. Sadly, his skateboard was the only one making noise as the wheels clacked over each crack in the cement with a head bobbing rhythm. He had even checked out the town for skate parks and regrettably found none. Tons of great rails to hit though and stairs to clear, but skating by yourself was equivalent to playing cards by yourself. It just didn’t work.

Alexander coughed to clear the silence of the abandoned lawn as he pulled his fingers away from the building, severing that connection he had made for the short amount of time. Nah, it was time to skate. Even though he was acting like a lonely little nerd by himself. Building speed, he performed a simple kick flip. Sailing high into the clear blue sky the board acted as if Alexander could control it. It listened like a good little skateboard and did its job. Alexander landed the trick perfectly, unhappy that there wasn’t an audience. So he started to sing.

“The good life, let's go on a livin' spree. Shit they say the best things in life are free,” He sang like a proud rooster at dawn, loudly and prideful. Yes, Alexander would bring the fun to him even if he was by himself. Rolling around by himself, singing to himself. “The good life!”

EFFY ELIZABETH VALENTINE - January 30, 2010 02:04 PM (GMT)
So school was school. The same everywhere, classes that were way too long and boring enough to send one to sleep, no matter where you went it was all along the same lines. Effy hadn't been looking forward to starting classes again, it wasn't something one would look forward too. Although being Ef it wasn't likely that she was going to attend most of them, in fact she would probably only rock up to the ability classes so that she could learn what she had actually gone there to do. Further her powers.

Sneaking out of the busy classroom wasn't hard, especially when you didn't go in to start with. Ef stood outside the door, just out of site but enough so that she could see in and see that it was boring as shit. Sliding against the wall she backed away, watching the teacher until she was far enough to away to turn and get out of there.

Making her way to the stairs, Effy stood down onto the first one and was about to head down when she saw a teacher at the bottom. Oh how she craved for invisibilty right then. Going back up the stairs Ef went to the staircase, once there she ran down and burst out the bottom doors. The fresh air hit her face and made her smile, man freedom smelt good.

Leaving the doors Ef walked around looking for someone, anyone to make her wagging session better. For a while she found nothing and was dissapointed, although chilling by herself was a lot better than sitting in that classroom. Turning another corner she heard a noise, it sounded like a skateboard, sure enough she looked up two seconds later and it was Alex. Smirking she shook her head, of course he was out. He could have had a spare but he was just as likely to be in class as Effy was.

Watching him do his trick she smiled, man he was good on his skate board. Waiting a little she was about to let him know that she was there but instead she stayed just a little bit behind the corner, not yet fully around it but enough for her to see him and hear him. As he sung she just chuckled, it was typical Alex, making fun for himself. Stepping out of the shadow of the building and fully around the corner Ef smiled. "Hey stranger." Ef said walking up towards where he was, her hair getting a little tossed in the wind that was slightly blowing. Not enough to say it was windy but more like a slight breeze.

"Fancy seeing you here." Ef said smirking and then reaching the spot where he had rolled to on his board. Pushing her hair behind her ear she looked him up and down, taking in his board before stepping forward and putting her foot onto it in the middle and then looking up at Alex. "So when's my shot?" Ef said knowing that he would know that she wasn't very good at skateboarding, in fact she was shocking and he would probably just laugh at her.
