The sun is a few feet above the horizon, spreading a warm orangey-yellow glow all over the planet where its rays touch, inclusive of the Lost City, giving everything a warm feeling of calm peace. The ocean reflects the birlliant colours in its small ripples, the light breeze blowing the water into smaller waves. The sky is still quite cloudless but for a few whisps high above the planet, which reflect the brilliant colours of the rising sun.

The lieutenant sits at the table awaiting his supper, his stomach grumbling like mad. He'd miss lunch in favour of finding some more intel. The more the better. Especially about the Wraith. Any news on them would be awesome. Of course, there could always be something new and exciting.
His meal comes; a steaming platter of local meat, vegetables and what reminds him of potatoes but wit ha sweeter flavour. "Mmmm ... Looks good as always, Marta." He smiles up at her as she places the mug of ale beside his plate. "Thanks." he glances at the door, wondering what Lorne was up to. He's reported back to him already and had been given leave to have his supper. Even though it was early morning on Atlantis, he always adjusted quickly to time changes. Especially after being stationed on the base in Pegasus.

MartaAs soon as the major had entered the tavern, Marta knew where he was headed and also makes her way there. She offers the major a wide smile as he sits down and compliments the food. "Coming right up, major." The elderly Belkan woman scurries back to the kitchen to retreive Major Lorne's meal.

The lieutenant looks up as his CO sits with him at the table. "Good choice, Sir. It's fantastic." he stuffs a large chunk of meat in his mouth and begins to chew. "So, anything interesting out there?" He asks through chewing.

The fork stops half way between his plate and his mouth, mouth open and ready to receive the delicious meat. His eyes move from the fork to Major Lorne. "Yer shittin' me ..." He looks at the major, incredulous. "Sir." He adds after a moment to get over the initial shock. The fork lands on the plate. he suddenly has no interest in his supper. But that won't last long.
He quickly turns back into a soldier thinking like a soldier should. he clears his throat. "How good's this intel?" He asks. Often, leads led nowhere but dead ends and wasted time. But if the source was reliable, it could make all the difference.

MartaMarta emerges from the kitchen with a heavily laden plate of food and a large mug of freshly squeezed juice from one of the local fruits. it was her own personal concoction. She told no one what it consisted of, but everyone loved it. "Here you go, Major." he sets the plate and mug in front of him and pulls out a knife and fork neatly wrapped in a hand-woven napkin similar to Lieutenant Cartright's. "Can I get either one of you anything else this evening?" She asks, stepping back only slightly from the table.

Lieutenant Cartright
The man goes back to eating when Lorne relays that he's uncertain of the possibility. Chances are it was nothing more than a rumour, a myth, something that had escalated and changed drastically from it's original form. He nods when he needs to while he eats, letting the major fill him in without interruption. He knew of the girl, but not her her name. Until now. He knew Ardrea. They had flirted a little when he first got to the planet a few days ago. But her sister hadn't been around.
He looks up when Marta brings the major his food. He offers a smile. He finishes off the contents of the mug and is about to ask for more when the major cuts him off, asking about this Farthus fellow. (Interesting name. Sounds Greek or Latin.) No, Cartright isn't your typical military drone. He actually knows a few things.

MartaThe woman looks at the major, slightly puzzeled as to why he would want to have any dealings with this man. She looks aroudn the tavern. "I do not see him now, Major. But he is certain to show up any time now for his final meal before leaving." She pauses, debating whether or not to ask him any further questions. but curiousity outweighs the possible bad outcomes. "If I may be so bold, Major, why w ould you want to have any dealings with this man? Has no one told you of his nature?" She queries, her voice compeltely concerned for the man.

MartaMarta's concerned look turns to warriness. Yes, she knew Major Lorne well. His team often traversed the distance through the Ancestral Ring to do what they termed Reconaissance. But she was always warry of those who looked for something without giving back. Not that they hadn't given back ... Her lips tighten, still playing the part of the overbearing grandmother, a role she is all too familiar with. "Very well, if it is what you wish." She frowns a bit but her face quickly returns to its former brightness. "But do not claim that you were not warned!" She says half playfull, tugging at the man's chin.

Lieutenant Cartright
The lieutenant watches the interchange between the tavern keeper and his CO with some amusement. It was always fun to see the old woman treat the Major like her child. He is able to polish off what is on his plate while the two chat. He's still thirsty. He waits until they're finished talking.
"More of this ... juice, please, Marta?" He asks, answering the question she had posed earlier. "It really is fantastic. I look forward to it every time I'm here." The words Lorne had spoken rumble through his mind. The possibilities were endless. A new ZPM? But then, there was this small matter of the trustworthiness of this Farthus fellow. (Sounds Ancient Greek or Latin. Must be an Ancient name.) While the Lieutenant isn't specifically schooled in languages, he still had a knack for them.
