Hmm...any favored webcomic artists?

I know the author of the Order of the Stick, Rich Burlew, is often ill, but I'd love to at least extend an invitation.

K. Sandra Fuhr, webcomic artist of Boy Meets Boy

Any idea how to contact voice actors like Vic Miga-whatever (voice actor for for Ed Elric, fma) and Caitiln Glass (Winry, fma)? I wanna see the voice actor for Alphonse!!!

Any hope to get a manga artist? Someone to tell us how they did it?

Oh! I want Hardgay as a guest! If not him, an impersonator!!!

Any idea what we would be required to do to accommodate guests?
Would we pay for their hotel room?
Do we pay them to show up?
Do we follow them with bowls of candy and fruit, ready to bend over and give them foot rubs? Anybody know? Gaa, hope I remember to ask these Qs at the next Columbia-region meeting!!!

We'd definitely have to pay for their hotel room (maybe travel, ouch!). And I'd guess it would be in the contract on whether we pay them when they show up or after they do their thing.

Usually you pay for their travel and hotel.

I love Chris Sabat. He's funny and I'd love to see him again. He did my voicemail... that I still have! I'd like to know what he thinks of the live action DB movie

My "silent partners" has those connections, with voice actors and knows the ins and outs of getting them.

* CROSS POSTED FROM SCA'S FORUM *

1. Vic is nice and all to his fans, but he's ALL ABOUT THEM. He's a sweetheart to us, but I've been told by my friend who was a VA Liaison at Metro that he can be difficult to keep tabs on. [fuck jesus-loving Risembool, miniskirt army! [that is all]]
2. Johnny Young Bosch can be very conceited and an 'all about be' kind of guy - once again, hard to work with -- so I don't recommend EITHER of these VA's to be invited until a few years into the convention when we've made a name for ourselves and such.
3. Scott McNeil, who was the voice of Koga & Piccolo, amongst others, would be a good guy to ask to come, if anyone. I have heard nothing but good things about this guy, and he's very chill.

I have sent a message out to Jeff Nimoy asking if he would be interested in coming, and what it would [theoretically] take to get him to the con. [Hopefully, if he responds, I'll ask if he could extend the invitation to Quinton]

Letter to Jeff Nimoy
QUOTE

I'm not the best representative for this, considering I kind of grew up in Florida and recently moved to SC; but there's a group of people who are planning on starting a convention. The first con date will be set in early summer of 2010. I'd love to extend an invitation to you to come if you're able, I know I'm not providing a lot of information yet, but the set date is still up in arms because of the difficulty we're having with the hotel we want to book.

We're a new convention and I have already told people that you, Quinton Flynn, and Scott McNeil were my first three choices on Special Guests to invite -- if we're able to raise the money.

I chose you because you have a lot of experience in things besides just voice acting -- both with writing and directing, and even with the English Translations of Digimon. I thought you could be a great help to anyone seeking ways of furthering themselves in the production business and needed some advice.

I haven't made many friends here because I think this state hasn't been exposed to how awesome and exciting Anime can be. So many people are the typical backwater countryfolk that I just want to get this con rolling so I can help all those little Otakus come out of their shells.

So I wanted to ask you -- theoretically -- if you were able to come, what would we have to do to get you here?

First post mentioned Vic Mignogna.

His email address is victhewop@aol.com

Just, by the way.
He's really good about emailing people back, I've contacted him several times.

I'm sorry but we really don't have the money to get him out here. Maybe in a few years.

The kinds of guests that we are aiming for is local talent. Like amerucan manga artists, web comic atrist. I know that you are on board for that Thor!!! this works out for it being the fisrt year and all. with most voice actors it costs from 800 - 1000 dollars. I have been researching latley. So if you guys know of anyone who has done an american manga please start naming them. another guest i would like would be the staff of Van Von Hunter.
www.vanvonhunter.com
