| Well, let me fish for a little more information.
You mentioned a posting minimum of 1 to 3 times a week. With these guys here, you're likely to be REAL busy, much more busy than what you'd be for the minimums.
I'll go out on a limb and assume you've at least read through our other SW game currently running. (If not, I'd recommend you do that, if for no other reason than to get a feel for how we write and react to things.) If we're only able to post the minimums, are you going to go ahead and post for some characters to keep the action rolling?
The more I read about this, the more I think I might be able to squeeze a character in. Busy as I am, I usually am able to put a post in ALL my currently running games at least once a day. One to three times a week shouldn't be too hard to maintain.
I'll keep checking back here for more details. By the way, when you say the characters will be provided with a ship, I take that to mean we're all part of a group that collectively will own one ship. Is that correct, or will each of us be individual bounty hunters/mercs who each own their own ship?
Man, I just can't resist a good SWD6 gam. Count me in.

| Sorry for the delay in responding but I was out of town at last moment's notice.
Two things should determine the game’s pacing: posting by the players, but primarily me moving things forward. I’m going to say right now that I am going to be limited to posting one to three times a week due to the fact that this will be my fifth game that I will be running.
It’s my job to move things forward, and I will be checking the game daily, but if anyone is expecting me to move the game forward daily, that isn’t likely to happen. I’ll be moving the game forward when I see that game need to move forward (typically at least once a week, but likely every other day). I don’t foresee people getting ahead of me because, well, you guys all have to wait for me. It shouldn’t be too long of a wait though. The only times where I will be keeping the pace relatively fast are combat rounds (and the minimums should keep everything fair). When I ask for everyone to declare their actions, I will need them within 48 hours. No declaration of actions in 48 hours after a combat round has been declared (and or further rounds) will mean that whoever didn’t declare, doesn’t get to act (this means moving or returning fire, I may dodge for the character if I feel they can see where the fire is coming from just to be fair).
So, to sum up and make things clear for all of us (me especially)…One to three posts a week. It’s what I ask for, and all I’m likely to dish out myself. I’ll be checking the game several times a day, and will be available to answer OOC or PM questions, but will move the game forward when I see fit (I don't like interrupting PCs when they're talking to each other). The only thing I’m strict about is combat. A round will only last 48 hours in real time before the results are posted and the next round commences…if a player doesn’t declare, he or she doesn’t go. The “48 hour long combat” round pretty much forces three posts a week if a fight drags on, so that shouldn’t be too bad. If everyone is quick on the draw, I’ll be able to move things along quicker (24 hours at the quickest)…but I’m all about waiting up to two days for dramatic responses from people who may be preoccupied with other games or RL. I know I can be sometimes. J
To address the other issue...posting for people who may be absent…I really frown upon doing that for two reasons. One, I overstep my bounds by playing a player character, and secondly, I have enough stuff to do already than to play someone else’s character. If someone can’t fire off a response in week’s time, I’ll do my best to be fair and act in character for the absent player (I’d also like to know why they’re absent…Is it RL, or does my GMing stink?). If someone is going on vacation, then I will run their character briefly in their absence if they ask me to. If this is made a habit, I’ll be in touch with that person and inform them that things just aren’t going to work out unless he or she becomes a regular part of the game by meeting the posting requirements. If that doesn’t work, I’ll figure out a way to make them exit.
I’ll elaborate on the ship now, since I probably could have done better explaining things earlier...but didn't.
There is no ownership on that vessel by any of the players (yet). You all work for the Bounty Hunter’s Guild. That is the Bounty Hunter’s Guild’s ship. If any of you can fly it, that will be excellent. If none of you can fly it, a pilot (employee of the guild) will fly it for you and accompany you to the worlds you'll be traveling to. It’s a loaned tool at your disposal. I’ve had problems in the past with everyone either wanting their own ship and flying off to create three to five separate solo games for me to run (which I’ll never do again), or people getting all hacked off because one person would have a ship (role as the ship captain) but the ship captain was such a jerk, no one would listen or want to fly with the guy. (Causing mutinies between player characters…which I tend to settle with brutal consequences for everyone involved) You guys will have missions to accomplish, and the ship or issues concerning ownership of the ship shouldn’t be a major concern as it will likely only be a means of getting you all from place to place. Most if not all of the action will take place off ship. If anyone wants a ship or partial ownership in a ship, do so by earning cash from collected bounties in character and buy your own ship. Above, I mentioned ‘yet’. This means that if you all work out as a crew and team, you might want to purchase the ship from the Bounty Hunter’s Guild or buy a new one…So, everything is negotiable in time, but to keep everyone from possibly killing each other in Chapter One, and to keep everyone on track for the missions, the ship is your employer’s ship for now.
I'll be putting up the Character Creation review in the next day or two...once I get my bearings back from a work pile up.

Your minimums will be perfect for me. Other than a week in July, for the time being there's no reason I can see that will keep me from posting at least that much. I'll get with you on when that will be.
Thanks for the response. The more I think about this game, the more I think I want to be in it. I'm looking forward to starting up. I'll get a character worked up as soon as I can, which won't be RIGHT away, due to my heavy load. I'll PM it to you for revisions and suggestions as soon as it's ready.

| Here are the things that are happening right now in my world (sigh).
1) My younger sister is getting married...so I will be out of town from June 30th - July 3rd with no access to the computer.
2) I'm taking two independent learning college courses as pre-reqs for my RN/BSN and was under the impression that it was a turn in things as I go with no deadlines execept the end of the semester (I've been turning stuff in, but not as fast as they want)...but now, fine print has been sent to us almost halfway through the semester that we need to turn stuff in every week, and that the professors are only accepting a paper a week. I'm not too far behind, but my GM fun time will be limited through early July.
3) As some of you know, I have two young children. I am currently living with my wife in a two bedroom condo. We will be moving sometime this summer, and that leaves me to go down to where we're moving to secure a job. Not too worried about that...CNA work isn't too bad and I'm marketable.
So, if you're wondering where I'm at...I'm either crying and reading at a wedding, getting myself educated, interviewing, or giving myself a hernia lifting heavy stuff (you all may have already noticed that I'm starting to feel the heat) . I will be checking the game every day to every other day, and will post provided I have a means to do so. I can still be reached by PM, but posting on here with slow dial up may be difficult.
We'll still be starting on time (Thursday), but I just wanted to give you all a heads up on why I may be out of commission for a few days at a time (I really to not be). Again, this will only be through mid-July.

| During combat, I use maps to show locations of the PCs in relation to cover and concealment, ranges between PCs and enemies, and other objects drawn to scale like ships and structures.
I need for everyone to pick a color for their map icons. For examples, look at the map below (Lord of the Rings game stuff):
Melenthor chose red, Creedy chose blue, Kaleneth chose green…etc.

| Thanks. I just wanted to clear that up, especially since a lot of other people like to use italics for indicating when their characters are thinking. Since you've claimed that method for your pheremone communications, I suggest we all use something like *asterisks* around our thoughts, to keep them separate.
But that's just a suggestion from the peanut gallery...

| This is just a clarification for area affect weapons, such as a the deck clearing blaster. This is just a heads up to make sure the basics are covered with this weapon because if it isn't covered, it's possible to find oneself very dead if hoping to get more than one expects from one of these things. These weapons are intended for things like shooting into a crowd of attackers who may try to rush you, or firing at enemies coming around a corner. You have to get close to the enemy or have them get close to you in order to use it effectively. They aren't very good at shooting at attackers beyond 10 meters (5 spaces on the map). I tried to make the cone area of affect for the weapon as close to 45 degrees as possible, (i.e. 90 degrees would have come out to about six squares).
As shown above, a warrior facing characters with blaster rifles will have to use cover and concealment (preferably cover) when facing off, for as shown, he's going to have to get much closer to shoot at his attackers, or wait for them to come in after him (a group of them would be nice). He's in between two buildings, but as shown above, two of his enemies have clear shots at him, and with blaster rifles, they can shoot at him from any place on the board provided no cover.
One more thing, with the deckclearing blaster, one had better make sure they take down their attackers in one shot and or have a back up weapon...because a deck clearing blaster has a fire rate of 1/2...It can only be fired every other round.

| The stuff that you sent me was specialized (if you were expecting to have more stuff in addition to the stuff you listed before, you really went overboard), I don't have the time or the inclination to sort through that inventory and mix and match what you have from what wasn't allowed (that would involve me picking a player's inventory for them which I don't do). The deck clearer was fine, now please pick some stuff from the core book to complement it. Unless, you want to use the book inventory for the bounty hunter template?
If there is still any confusion, talk to your in character brother about his inventory. He just sent it to me.

| OOC: Well now...it looks like the brothers aren't going to make this easy on me, so...let it be known, I'm not likely to be very easy on any of you with the way things are going. Keep a few things in mind...the two Weequay are the focus of this unfolding drama. That's two versus fifteen...plus any number of unseen foes that could come out of the damn floor and ceiling for all you guys know. Xavier is still in the bar, but may not choose to reveal his connection to the Weequay...If a fight occurs, I'm fairly certain that he will pitch in if things get serious (it will). If you are counting on three to one odds, consider that Myn and Seth haven't posted in a while and may not even be with us...so, it may very well be three against fifteen...because I don't play PCs or declare actions for them. In other words, if they get shot at and are hit, they're done.
There is a very great likelihood that one or all of you will die if you don't try to tone the attitude down or try to make things right. You've all been warned.
Ask yourself if pissing this guy off is really necessary...if it isn't, I suggest walking out. If it is absolutely necessary for you guys to piss this guy off at five to one odds, I'll be waiting for any other declarations and will act accordingly...Have a nice day.
