Is SW the only game you've ever done?

I have to say another of my favorites to play is the Palladium Universe. It is rules heavy and complicated, but the rules are pretty thorough.

I just finished reading through the rules for Serenity the Firefly based RPG. It is pretty straight forward and it is designed to have the cinematic feel like the D6 WEG games. After I get a little more familiar with it, I might give that a shot on the boards.

If you've played Star Wars, you understand most everything else already. Actually, you're at an advantage since one of d6 SW's strengths was having strong character roles and a universe that was easy to 'pick up and play.'

Anyways, is it that you want to get into a D&D type game, or are you interested in learning a game with a different setting? Sometimes when I feel I want to do something different, I'll ask myself 'what am I looking for?' like this.

I'll be in on the Firefly game. Also when I get back from Viet Nam, I'm going to run a Vampire: The Masquerade game. So anyone interested? If so, clan and city you'd like to play in.

Hey, dude... net's right. This game right here is far and away the most fun I've ever had roleplaying. The second was Shadowrun, but that was D6 as well, so it's understandable. That type of game just seems to flow much more easily than do the level-based games. Maybe it's just my limited experience, but there it is.

SWd6 is the greatest version of SW ever. Period. I still have interest in my SW game, even now, so that's cool. Then again, I have a new Emperor who's causing all sorts of havoc with the galaxy.

As for level-based games, they don't have to suck. laugh.gif I used to hate them, and felt they were too limiting myself. And then what did I do? Went out and wrote a level-based game myself. rolleyes.gif It works though because we fixed a lot of things that are broken about level-based games. We got rid of random hit points, locked class skill levels to your character's level, and put in a robust class-design system. We also added 'Generic Class' support where you can say, 'I'm a level 6 soldier,' and have the whole game play normally without having to design anything or spin anyone up. It's a lot of fun.

That's great that you cooked up an RPG without the problems of the level-based system. How has that been going for you? I'd imagine your players are rather enjoying themselves...

Easy to learn? D&D.

It's prety straight forward and is'nt too complicated, in the beginning. Heck, it was the first RPG I ever tried. And I liked it.
BUT! Not the Star Wars D20. No. And no.

Well SW D6 is easy, as is the old White Wolf games, the new one isn't hard either, just more tricky then the old.

If you ask me (Mentioned that I have'nt played the old WW game) I think that is pretty complicated, until you get too learn it off course.
