Howdy New Kid. Would a New Republic senatorial or similar fit in the campaign or are you looking more for soldier types?

I'd be willing to play either if you'd grant me access to the game.

Force Sensitive: No
Force Points: 1
Character Points: 5
Move: 10/13

Special Abilities: Body Armor: The Verpine's chitinous covering acts as an amor providing +1D protection against physical attacks.
Microscopic Sight: The Verpine receive a +1D bonus to their search skill when looking for small objects because of their ability to see microscopic details with their highly evolved eyes.
Organic Telecommunication: Because Verpine can send and receive radio waves through their antenna, they have the ability to communicate with other Verpine and with specially tuned comlinks. The range of this ability is extremely limited for individuals (1 km) but greatly increases when in the hive (which covers the entire Roche asteroid field).
Technical Bonus: All Verpine receive a +2D bonus when using their Technical skills.

Physical Description: Lightly muscular. Has a scar down his face, making him look pretty thug-like, which is actually what he aims for. Wears a black trench coat with alot of pockets. Has a Ammo Bandolier under the coat and also wears dark-grey shorts and a dark-grey t-shirt under it.
Has a heavy consumption of Tabacc Sticks.

Personality: Quiet and gloomy. This guy dose'nt seem very happy about anything. He dose'nt talk much either. But he can get very cheerful over a glass of the cantinas finest.

Background: Lived happily with his wife and his child, until one day, that the Empire came, blockaded the planet and used all the men as labor. Tekku's wife protested and was shot. Along with his son. Tekku went insane with madness on the troopers and actually killed one of them. After the trooper hit the ground, all of the men, there were examples of several species, attacked as well. They overwhelmed the Stormtroopers and and escaped, with their familes aboard three stolen transports shuttles.
But it was all for nothing. Only Tekku escaped. He was the only one who reached the escape pods in time.
His escape pod floated through space and Tekku was sure he would die of hunger. But then a gambling ship came by. There he made his firt prize at gambling. A swoop. They promised to drop him off at Tatooine, because they were making a stop there for re-supplying.
He actually made quite alot of money on illegal Swoop racing. But his carer ended with a blast. He crashed with his Swoop and lied in coma for a month. When he woke up, the only thing he could remember was his wife and son being shot by evil troopers in white armor.
But when he discovered the Empire had been overthrown and was now torn apart, he actually did'nt re-joyce. He was fueled with hate, because he did'nt get a chance to hit them hard.
But then he discovered something called the New Republic, that had taken the place of the Empire. When he learned that Imperial forces were still out there, he quickly joined with the New Republic and began working under-cover for them. He became like a 'Street Spy' for them. Well, that's waht he would call himself.
He watches the streets for any unusual business, Imperial business. But he has been on other missions and know that he will be snet on other missions.

Objectives: To avenge his family.

A Quote: ''The streets are a tough place. You think you can handle them?''

Equipement: Heavy Blaster Pistol (5D), Ammo Bandolier, Multipocketed Trenchcoat, Pack of Tabacc Sticks, 150 Credits.

So here he is! Be sure to read his background.

Keeli was always adept at sneaking around. As the daughter of an Imperial officer, one had to know how to bypass security if one was to enjoy Courscant's nightlife without finding oneself under constant guard. Even when she did slip up and get caught, she found herself adept at batting her lashes at her dear old pop and melting away his anger. As a child, she had blindly accepted the benefits of being the child of a highly placed Imperial officer. When her father fell out of favor with his superiors, she discovered the darker side of all she had previously enjoyed. She discovered the Empire was the heartless monster the lower level dwellers claimed it was. She was approached by agents of the growing rebellion. About this time, she became accutely aware of the cost her former life had been on those citizens of a thousand thousand worlds who suffered under such an unjust system. Slavery, political oppression, political assasination and imprisonment. It turned her stomach. She signed on to help the rebellion at about the time it collapsed following the Emporer's death. Now her skills were in much greater demand as the remnant fought tooth and nail to regain lost ground.

Keeli's hatred for the Empire is matched only by the thrill of sneaking around and causing all kinds of havoc unrealized until it's far to late for her targets to do anything about it. She despises killing and will do her level best to avoid it if possible.

Off duty, Keeli is light and friendly. She enjoys joking and pranking and sees her job as a kind of continuation of her prankish nature. She takes her duties seriously, ...but not too seriously...

I think I'm going to sit this one out. I've got three other games to run, and there's the keeping up of this board and all! If you need any help though, just PM me, I'd be glad to give you some pointers...or even some ideas on how to really mess with these guys! ninja.gif

Hehe rolleyes.gif . Well, im looking forward to seeing you're character Skyler.

Posted by: Jedi Skyler Sep 20 2005, 11:26 AM
Well, I suppose I should ask the New Kid if he wants characters rolled completely from scratch, or if we can use templates. Cuz I just about have a template added to sufficiently to post. Just needs a little more tweaking. So, if he will let me know, I'll either finish it and post it, or go back to square one...

I'm using a variant of the Young Jedi template, because it'll best fit what I'm thinking of...

Posted by: Teradoxx Sep 20 2005, 12:39 PM
I dont think he cares. Template or char. from scratch, i dont think it matters. I created mine from scratch.

Posted by: Jedi Skyler Sep 20 2005, 12:47 PM
Well, I'm working up another Jedi for Jamfke's game... I'll be either using the same base template, or working one up from scratch, but basing it along the same lines. I was looking to cross a Young Jedi with a SpecOps Infiltrator, but I'd have to have the allowances he's giving me to beef him up a little to reflect training/time in service. The one I was first working on for that was for the era you're in for his PBP at the Pit... about a year after EPI 3...

Posted by: NEW KID Sep 20 2005, 01:46 PM
what he said, i don't care, as long as the stats are right

also, for those of you that hav already posted, could you please modify ur post so that the skills you not upgrading is not on their, kind of confusing

example,
instead of

Dexterity4D
blaster
dodge5D
melee parry
vehicle blaster 5D

do

Dexterity4D
dodge5D
vehicle blaster5D

THANX!!

Cal Jeth
Young Jedi
Human Male
Age: 20

This character is Force-sensitive

Physical Description: Cal is a broad-shouldered, muscular young man with long brown hair and deep blue eyes. He almost always wears black, whether it's combat fatigues or his black pants and tunic with the high black boots and hooded cloak. Cal usually has an intense look on his face, but those who know him can see the good humor behind his eyes.

Force Powers:
CONTROL: Absorb/Dissipate Energy, Accelerate Healing, Detoxify Poison
SENSE: Combat Sense, Danger Sense, Life Detection
ALTER: Telekinesis
C&S: Lightsaber Combat
S&A: Affect Mind

Cal is the descendant of a powerful Jedi Master who was also a superb swordsman. Cal is the first in many generations to actually be Force-sensitive, and as such has inherited a collection of knowledge gathered by his ancestor, Arca Jeth. Cal has also inherited Arca's natural ability with the lightsaber and has been fascinated by the stories passed down among his family about Arca's abilities to turn a desperate situation to victory through his skills.

Cal is determined to bring honor back to the name Jeth. His family lived in fear during the Emperor's reign, relieved that none of their children showed Force potential- except Cal, that is. Living on the Rim is probably all that saved his life.
Now that the Emperor is dead, Cal has been training with the datacards left to him and has built a number of lightsabers to increase his skills. These weapons range from a small, easily concealed stylus- sized weapon with a blade capable only of deactivating maglocks to a multi-phase, fully adjustable lightsaber that took him two months to build.

As Cal's skills have grown, he's begun using them to perform acts of sabotage against the Empire. His Force skills have come in handy during his personal campaign. He's raided the local Imperial garrison successfully many times, and is now looking to take his skills Coreward in an effort to join his efforts to the New Republic, thereby hopefully acting on a larger scale. In addition, with all the reports he's been hearing over the last several years, he's hoping to meet Luke Skywalker, perhaps train with him.

A quote: "What would my great great great great great great great great great great grandfather have done?"

Equipment (Before the GENEROUS GM gives us our allotment from the New Republic...) laugh.gif

Black combat fatigues
Black pants, tunic, boots
Black hooded cloak
Utility belt w/ removable combat harness
Medpac X 3
Spare blaster packs X 10

Weapons: Lightsaber (adjustable blade) 5D, mini lightsaber (blade only extends to six inches) 3D

*The Young Jedi template includes a blaster and an astromech, but no lightsaber. I've chosen to alter the template to fit the character, pending GM approval. If you see reason for me to have an astromech, pm me and we'll flesh out the details, then I'll edit my character sheet post.

Your time constraints won't be as big an issue, since this is to be a play by post. We just post when we can, and can't write for anyone else's characters. If we all happen to be on, then we can progress through some distance at a good clip, but only if we're all on. Like, I won't ever be on past 5:30 PM my time, (it's 4:52 now) and some days it'll be earlier. But that's the beauty of PBP. We just do it as it comes! And party bonus if we're all on at the same time!

I've got to second New Kid's assessment of the Jedi. His D6 total comes to 35D rather than the normal 25D for characters. Normally, Force Skills are initially bought with attribute dice and increased using skill dice. So the first D in each Force Skill would be subtracted from the 18D for attributes. Any additional force skill dice would be added from skill dice (still sticking to the "no more than 2D" rule). Additionally, the first D in any force skill yields 1 force power. each pip added to the force skill provides an additional force power under that skill. Depending on how long the character had a teacher.

I don't know how New Kid is running it, but this character is way overpowered for the standard rules.

Just my 2 cents.

All I was doing was going with the template for Young Jedi that I got off the Rancor Pit site. On it, the character starts out with 5D in Control, Sense, and Alter. I didn't add any Attribute Dice in to the stats I'd posted, and as you can see, we've been paring him down. Like I told Skaff, I wasn't trying to cheat or anything here. Just come up with a decent character who will also be able to contribute to the party from the beginning, rather than have to sit in a cargo hold going over Jedi meditations to improve his D codes before he can actually do something...

Posted by: NEW KID Sep 20 2005, 03:09 PM
before an argument kindles, few things

since this is my first character approving thing, im rather leniant right now.

though later, this is going to get stricter

A human starts with 18 attribute dice, 2 in each and six to be assigned to by player.

every D you want on force skill, you get one attribute taken off

to make things fair, you two without jedi, go ahead and add 4 more bonus skill dice

any more objections??

if there are, these character will only be temporary, only for this mission

Posted by: Jedi Skyler Sep 20 2005, 03:12 PM
Believe me, I'm not arguing here. I come from the Rancor Pit, and arguments/ flaming just isnt' done there. I like that atmosphere, and intend to carry it over here. I do welcome help with character generation, as it's been a while since I've done it. So as long as we can have friendly disagreements, everything's fine. We're here to help each other and have fun, not shoot each other down. I don't think that an argument was brewing here. Just people tryin' to make sure things are kept honest, which is what I want as well. biggrin.gif

In fact, we might get him to make us an In Character thread and an Out Of Character thread for in-game posting and real-people posting. They have that on the Pit and it seems to be working well. Any thoughts, Skaff?

Posted by: NEW KID Sep 20 2005, 03:17 PM
yeah, except i'll probably do a separate post for every few rounds

just making sure, i hav seen a club literally fell apart because of an argument about a player's power, the thread was so heated, in the end, they were shooting long insults at each others.....................they are all adults too, kind of funny for someone so young to find grown adults arguing about in character power biggrin.gif

Yeah, that is pretty sad. But if everybody's got problems with me running a template, then I can just go and create a character from scratch. It'll take some time, but I'll do what I can to make it as quick as I can. I'll let you make the final call, as GM. Just let me know.

Not trying to argue at all. Just contributing my understanding of the rules in an open discussion. I don't care if the Jedi starts more powerful. I just noticed is all. At any rate, I'll gladly accept the most generous offer of additional skill dice biggrin.gif. I'll modify Keeli to reflect the increase momentarily...

Modification completed.

Hidey ho fellows! Wow, you guys are busy!

Now, NEW KID, you asked me earlier for your own forum to run your game, I'll get to that in a little bit. I'll even set up a thread for your character sheets, In character posts, and out of character posts! Cool huh?

I'm a little confused about how you're wanting to start a new thread every couple of rounds though. That IMHO would make things way too confusing and clutter up the board. I would suggest just posting all of your In Character postings in the IC thread for the entire run of the game. Any OOC discussions should be made in that thread. The character sheet thread will simply be a central place for everyone to post their charcters and make adjustments as you give them CPs to increase their skills.

Once you get everything set up, I'll watch over everything for a while, I'm certain that you won't have to worry about these guys acting silly, cause if they do...they have to answer to ME! angry.gif

Alright people, get to work, post your UPDATED character sheets onto my board, in the topic "Character sheet." If you hav no clue what im saying, basically, since JediSkyler's Jedi is kind of overpowering, Skaff and theophilus gets to add, wat was it, i think four bonus skill dice, to their current character sheet

thanx again, jamfke
