Moon was a pleasant throwback to classic science fiction. Asimov would approve.

This movie could have taken some bad turns but it didn't. There were some very convenient plot devices but it still made for a good movie.

Mononoke Hime

Easily on of the best animated movies. Ever. Enjoy it more every time I watch it.
And I wholeheartedly agree with the message the movie sends. A++ smile.gif

The Hurt Locker - Top film covering a different aspect of modern war not brought to the screen before. I highly recommend seeing this one.

Well my copy of Franklyn came through the post yesterday. I was looking forward to watching it but it seems my bluray player had other ideas. Yep my friggin Samsung wouldn't play it. Lucky it was a love film rental I suppose - I'll have to return and request the DVD. sad.gif

Gwai wik (Re-Cycle)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0498311/

About a female writer who wrote a trilogy of successful romance novels, and is beginning her next novel, which will will be of supernatural fare.

The crap she's writing about starts to happen in real life... but then suddenly she finds herself in a parallel universe where abandoned things end up, story ideas, abandoned character concepts, and.. aborted fetuses!

Ya, Re-Cycle was weird. The visuals were fantastic, but the story was ridiculous. Especially the aborted fetuses part.

Watched a couple of movies in the last few days - some old, some new:

G.I Joe - Pretty bad but fun. 6/10

The Wrestler - Good movie just thought they could have done more at the end. 8/10

Silent Hill - Best VG adaptation I've seen. Enjoyed it. 8/10

You didn't hate the incredibly weak and longwinded final act in Silent Hill? That almost ruined the entire movie for me.

Yeah I thought the end was weak but more because it offerred no real closure to the story. Just the last 5 minutes was a let down for me, everything else regarding the finale was good and answered any questions regarding the bulk of the plot (May sound quite generic but I don't want to include any spoliers).

I do like Gans and Hadida - Crying Freeman and Brotherhood of the Wolf were ace!

Holy sh!t that movie is rare! I remember watching this when I was a kid and absoulotely loved it! Thing is tho that was 15+ years ago and I thought No Retreat No Surrender was a good movie back then too! tongue.gif

Did you like it? Has it survived the test of time?

Inglorious Bastards- I thought it was great. I never really had a dull moment with it. Some great moments of dialouge in this one and surprisingly less cussing then usual. laugh.gif

Surprisingly? More than anything, that much cussing is a sign of the times. 40s people, and soldiers on active duty at that wouldn't cuzz that much, now would they?

I liked the dialogues, but thought most scenes were a bit dragged out and pretty useless anyway. As a whole movie it kinda fails. Hans Landa was genius tho!

Went and saw Zombieland last night. Loved it! Was a lot of fun, the audience was really into it, got good laughs from everyone, including myself. Not quite as utterly absurd as Sean of the Dead, but great Zombie comedy in it's own right. Actually, I think I enjoyed this movie more than Sean. The story itself is kinda throwaway boy-meets-girl kind of stuff, but it's really just a vehicle to bring us the meat of the movie: funny shit involving life in a world infested by zombies. And in that respect, it totally delivers.

And I just love me that Woody Harrelson!

Also there is a great great cameo in the film, that I won't spoil for you, but man, I just had to mention that it's there.

Go see this movie!

Just watched Drag Me to Hell last night, and it is was freakin awesome! Totally fun and creepy, That gypsy woman.. *shudder*.. Highly recommend, especially for this time of year...

My only complaints are that Mac guy being in it, who I just don't like, and that there was no Bruce. Would have been cool if he had a bit part, such as the asshole co-worker who was also gunning for the Asst Manager position or something..

Anyway, great Raimi film!
