Quidditch Season is officially OPEN!
The first game of the season (and board) is officially upon us. This is the first time of running a Quidditch match so we hope to have a good clean thread- but the game can be a little dirty if you wish!
How the thread will work:
In the Quidditch Pitch there is a subforum for games. The thread containing the actual game will be posted as 'House A' vs. 'House B' and in the subtopic the date the game started.
The game is open for everyone to post in. This means that everyone is allowed to post in that thread, just not the players. As a spectator you can post your character's reactions to the game that is progressing, cheer, or boo other teams. Though this seems unimportant, the number of spectator posts will help determine the winner so remember to make it clear whom you are rooting for!
However, we ask spectators to keep conversations to a minimum! This means you can say hello to your friends, cheer with them, etc, but if you plan to get in a fight with the opposing team for a conversation lasting longer than 3 or 4 posts, then we ask you make your own topic within the game subforum (much like how it went for the Halloween feast.)
How the game works:
The first post will be by the referee introducing the teams, the captains shake hands, and start the game. Then players can start posting. We ask players to end each post in an incomplete action.
For example: 'John hurled the Quaffle across the pitch in hopes to get it to Anna'.
This way the next player to post could be Anna, catching the ball, or Scott, intercepting the Quaffle. This shouldn't be that much different than normal threading.
When shooting on goal the action must also be incomplete meaning you do not get to decide if your character made the goal or not. Instead leave the end of the thread as 'Jenna threw the Quaffle towards the right goal and crossed her fingers hoping it would go in...' The outcome of the shot on goal will be decided by flipping coin and announced by one of the Admins who are participating in the game or our lovely announcer, Harriet McMillian.
Any Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Please reply in this thread if so!
