Riddles Rising

[Rob Newcastle]

Robi sat on the bed, his leg twinging in pain. He looked at the nurse as she came towards him with a measuring cup of blood red liquid. "Here love, it'll make the heat leave the cut and the brusing go down!" he nodded and drowned the foul liquid faster than a shot glass. He smiled and watched her smile back then walk away. The bandages that covered his inner right thigh and bruses that were rising on his right were all from him carrying too much at one time, simply. He was going up to the Gryffindor tower and tripped, toppling back down the stairs up which he'd come and cutting himself on the fake stair and of course coming out with bruses. He wasn't about to lie, it hurt like a mother...

He wriggled down onto the lumpy bed, the goose down covers that were under him were so tempting to climb into and just fall asleep, but he decided that he should stay awake, he wasn't staying long after all.... right? He looked around him, suddenly bored with the events that had just occurred. He looked out the window trying to find something of interest. He barely even noticed the door open, it took a few seconds to concider looking up at the new comer. He smiled, trying to make them seem welcome, although it turned into a sort of cring as his leg gave a quick throb, apparently the medicine liked to work in very large throbbing and slightly painful amounts. "Hi there!" he said simply, trying again, this time getting the smile right.

[Jade Rose]

It was a very windy day, but Jade still decided to go out and fly around the Quidditch Pitch for a bit. She hadn't had a very good day and flying always calmed her down.

She wasn't out there for that long when the wind got unbareable. She couldn't even fly straight. Jade decided it was time to go in but before she had time to fly to the ground and dissmount her broom the wind took control. She couldn't keep her balance and she fell off. Luckly she was only a few feet from the ground, but it still hurt like a bitch.

She limped acrossed the field to get her broom. Her leg was killing her. She fell on it and could barely walk. So when she reached the entrance hall she decided to go to the Hospital Wing. When limped her way the stairs and when she reach the Wing she slowly opened the door and entered.

"Hi there!"

Rob was sitting on the bed. "Hey Rob," she said forcing a smile. "What's wrong with you?" she asked taking a seat on one of the bed next to him.

((OOC: Sorry, that was crappy, I'm in school and the bell is about to ring.))

"Hey Rob," It was Jade Rose, another Gryffindor in Robs year that had grown to become one of his friends. "What's wrong with you?" Robi laughed, "Well i decided on walking up the stairs, then my bags and books decided on going back down... the hard way." he said with another laugh but cutting it short because it made his leg hurt a bit to much! "What'd you do?" he asked, looked at her on the bed beside him, she'd limped in so apparently it was annual leg murdering day.

He looked at the matron as she bustled out of her office at the sight of a limping girl and hurried over to Jade. Rob laughed, "Have fun trying to ward her off ya!" he said, feeling a bit better now there was something to keep his mind off his own leg. He looked at Jade behind the Matron and pulled a face, mouthing, "Careful, she might grope ya' !" he had another childish grin spread across his face, like it was normally.

"Well i decided on walking up the stairs, then my bags and books decided on going back down... the hard way."

Jade laughed and said, "Smart one. I guess your books just don't like and they were trying to get away."

"What'd you do?"

"Well I thought I would do a bit of flying, but have you been outside today? The wind is murdering. It wasn't that bad at first, but when it started to pick up sped, so did my broom....the bad thing was that at that time I was no longer on it."

As the nurse hurried out of her office and towards Jade she said, "Now what happened to you dear?" Jade told her the story and she instintly went back to her office to retrieve something.

"Have fun trying to ward her off ya!"

Jade looked at him and said sarcasticly, "Oh yes....loads." The nurse hurried back out and grabbed Jade's leg. "Ouh....ouch! Be careful...it does hurt you know!" The nurse quited her and then Jade looked back at Rob and saw him mouth "Careful, she might grope ya' !" Jade mouthed back, "Haha...very funny."

When the nurse was done looking at her leg, she told Jade to sat her for a little while so the spell she did could kick in....literaly.

The nurse left the room and went back to her office. Jade leaned back on the bed she was sitting on and then turned to Rob, "So...how long you stuck here for?" She really didn't want to be alone with the nurse....as she seemed a little....odd.

"Smart one. I guess your books just don't like and they were trying to get away."

Robi laughed, "yeah, i guess it's the same with your broom, eh?" he replied, the childish grin that so often adorned his face, sitting back on his lips. He laughed again and watched the crazy nurse fuddle around with her wand and stuff on Jade's leg. Nodded, "That looks serious, love!" he said sarcastically, just trying to make her laugh, like he usually did arorund people.

"Ouh....ouch! Be careful...it does hurt you know!"

Robi smiled, "Careful or Precouses leg, she might get a bruise." he said, not sounding mean, just joking around. He smiled cheekily at her and the nurse gave his a weary eye as if to day 'Shut it or you'll be outof the wing." not that he had any objections to that. He simply shrugged his sholders innocently and smiled at Jade behind the womans back.

"So...how long you stuck here for?"

"Eternity, no im kidding, um about half an hour, it's been real fun," his tone once more sarcastic, a smile propping up onto his face.

"Eternity, no im kidding, um about half an hour, it's been real fun," his tone once more sarcastic, a smile propping up onto his face. "I got bored enough to stare out the window!" he said, nodding in amusmant. He moved on his bed, trying to find a position that stopped his leg from going dead.

"That looks serious, love!"

Jade laughed and said, "Don't give her any ideas." But she was quickly shushed.

"Careful or Precouses leg, she might get a bruise."

"Funny...you're just a barrel of laughs tonight, you know that?" She said this half sarcasticly and half jokinly.

'Shut it or you'll be outof the wing."

Jade waited till the nurse wasn't looking and she pointed at Rob and silently laughed.

"Eternity, no im kidding, um about half an hour, it's been real fun,"

"Hopefully, I won't be here much longer. This place is always so depressing." Jade moved her leg around a bit trying to get comfortable. "And you think that they could make these beds anymore uncomfortable? I mean seriously!" she turned over and tried to adjust he pillow a little. But nothing really helped. The bed was as hard as a rock.

"Funny...you're just a barrel of laughs tonight, you know that?"

"I know, im the Hospital Wing Jester!" he said, with laugh. He smiled, glad he wasn't alone, starring out a window still. "You should try it some time, every so often you get people to laugh!" he said, nodding slightly and flashing her a smile as if to say, 'go on, laugh, you know you want to!'

Rob smiled and mouthed, "See i got you to laugh!" he poked out his tongue and sat with his back against the wall and a pillow stopping it from being so uncomfortable. His leg only gave the slightly throb now and then by now, another 10 minutes and he'd be walking again... he hoped.

"Hopefully, I won't be here much longer. This place is always so depressing. And you think that they could make these beds anymore uncomfortable? I mean seriously!"

Rob smiled, "Careful Princess, she might hear ya!" he said smiling childishly again, he's tried to stop the smile, many times before but it just came when he felt happy and it replaced his forced or sincere smiles with a cheeky one.

"You should try it some time, every so often you get people to laugh! Go on, laugh, you know you want to!'

Jade took a breath and tried to keep a straight face but that didn't last very long. After only a few seconds she was smiling and laughing.

"See i got you to laugh!"

"Well I'm not exactly the hardest person to make laugh, so you shouldn't really be proud," she said still smiling. She always seemed to laugh around Rob. Even though her day hadn't been that good, she felt better because of him.

"Careful Princess, she might hear ya!"

Jade picked up her pillow and tossed it at him. "Take that! I don't want the stupid thing anyway, it's as hard as a rock," she laughed. But then she regret throwing the pillow because the nurse came out and screamed, "What's all the racket out here? You are here to get better, not throw pillows!" Jade said she was sorry and when the nurse disappeared back into her office, she looked back at Rob and said, "Now why did you have to go and get me in trouble?"

"Well I'm not exactly the hardest person to make laugh, so you shouldn't really be proud,"

"Oh well, that was a short rained glory!" he replied, grinning again. He smiled at her, "I guess i'll just have to try my quirky personality on sombody new!" he said, smiling again. He made to pretend to get up as she threw the pillow but was back down in a flash as she spoke then the nurse came out angrily.

"Take that! I don't want the stupid thing anyway, it's as hard as a rock,"
Robi laughed and caught the pillow, he threw it back at her and tried not to laugh when the nurse came out. He smiled at Jade as she poke, "Well im sorry, i'll go in and tell her i threw the pillow, we swopped beds momenttarily so i could have the harder pillow, then in a second i was back on my bed to catch it!" he said, giving her a smile as if to say, 'yea right...'.

"Oh well, that was a short rained glory! I guess i'll just have to try my quirky personality on sombody new!"

"All your glories are short ranged," she said smiling.

"Well im sorry, i'll go in and tell her i threw the pillow, we swopped beds momenttarily so i could have the harder pillow, then in a second i was back on my bed to catch it!" he said, giving her a smile as if to say, 'yea right...'.

Jade tried not to laugh again as she said, "Well....I think she'll believe it." Jade put her pillow under her leg and she leaned back against the backboard. She wasn't very comfortable but it would due.

"So...besides you falling down the stairs chasing after your books....how have you been. It seems like I haven't really talked to you in a while." Jade has been so busy lately with all the homework that her teachers were throwing on them that she hasn't had much time for any of her friends really. She couldn't wait until the end of the year. Even though it was a bit scary having to go out on your own, and she was really going to miss this place, she was still excited for it.

"All your glories are short ranged,"

"Aww no fair, i thought i was on a role here!" he replied, Jade was cool, she was funny and a really good person to be around. Robi chose his friends carefully, even though he was nice to everyone he wasn't about to be best friends with somebody who thought the only way to survival was through murder or something. "Well....I think she'll believe it." Robi laughed, "Yeah only cause she know's your two goody good." he said, teasing her. "She's throw me out ina second, maybe she's a dyke, that's why." he finished, laughing at the image of the nurse trying to cop a feel on some poor un-suspecting girl.

"So...besides you falling down the stairs chasing after your books....how have you been. It seems like I haven't really talked to you in a while."

Robi shook his head, "well i've been busy, im a chick magnet this year." he lied jokinly, "They all come to me for help!" he laughed, "na, i'v actually been rreally busy with school, i can't wait till exams are over."

"Yeah only cause she know's your two goody good."

"Am not!" Jade pouted, "I....I can be bad...." she finished laughing because she knew it wasn't true. She was a goody good. She always did her homework, she always went to class, and hardly ever broke the rules.

"She's throw me out ina second, maybe she's a dyke, that's why."

"Shhh! She what if she heard you!? That was mean. True....she is a bit....touchy....but...that doesn't mean anything."

"well i've been busy, im a chick magnet this year. They all come to me for help! Na, i'v actually been rreally busy with school, i can't wait till exams are over."

Jade smiled. She knew that Rob was sort of a chick magnet, even if he did only mean his comment jokinly. She has always had sort of a crush on him, but never did anything about it because one, she is afraid to ruin their friendship, and two she tended to be shy around guys she liked.

"Yeah right! You a chick magent?" she joked, "But yeah, it does seem that the teachers having been overloading us with homework. I feel like a fifth year!" She remembered what it felt like in her fifth year when the OWLs were approaching. "I guess they just want us to pass out NEWTS.....but I've heard that NEWTS are easier than OWLs."

"Am not!" Jade pouted, "I....I can be bad...." Rob laughed, :ill believe it when i see it, love!" he said laughing. "When you being bad, i want a photo, please!" he said, smirking and continuing to laugh. He wasn't meaning any of this meanly, he was simply joking round, cracking more jokes like usual. He smiled, "You've never even not done your homework!" he told her, but smiling childishly.

"Shhh! She what if she heard you!? That was mean. True....she is a bit....touchy....but...that doesn't mean anything."
Rob smiled, "If ya say so, i still reacon she's a bit more scary than the last one!" he said, they'd had a different Matron in 1'st year and he'd been scared of her just because she had whiskers on her chin. "Atleast she doesn't try and beat the crap out of you when she's fixing the cuts, unlike some teachers though, eh!" he said sending another smile across the beds to Jade.

"Yeah right! You a chick magent?"
"Yeah all the chicks are hot on my, admint you are." he said joking round, actually it was the other way round, he'd always found Jade appealing, she was sexy and fun, but se had brains and wit about her, she wasn't just mates with him to get back at an ex or something, like alot of girl were. Or she didn't flirt ridulasly with him, which was great. "But yeah, it does seem that the teachers having been overloading us with homework. I feel like a fifth year!" Rob smiled, "Im glad NEWTS arn't for ages though, other wise i reacon i'd just have a total blank and die." yes, Rob stressed about these things. "I guess they just want us to pass out NEWTS.....but I've heard that NEWTS are easier than OWLs." Rob smiled, "More like Pass out in the NEWTS tests." he said laughing again.

"When you being bad, i want a photo, please!"

"I've been sorta bad before. I just never get caught. I've been out of bed after hours a few times...." But that was about it.

"You've never even not done your homework!"

"Uh-huh! This one time McGonagall gave told us to write 3 rolls of parchment on Animagus and I didn't....oh.... wait....I did do that.....But I didn't do all three rolls. I only did two and a half!" Jade laughed at herself. She knew how stupid that sounded.

"If ya say so, i still reacon she's a bit more scary than the last one!"

"I dunno...the last one scared me. I remember one time that walked around for 3 days with a huge cut on my arm that I had gotten from some strang plant in Herbology because I didn't want to come here and deal with her. But eventually the cut turned an odd shade of green, so I had to come."

"Im glad NEWTS arn't for ages though, other wise i reacon i'd just have a total blank and die."

"I'm actually not that nervous for NEWTS. I pretty much know all of my subjects so I think I'll do fine."
