Title: RO vs <?> --- Sign up...

(RO)Capt. Ramius - December 18, 2008 12:51 AM (GMT)
I am putting together a battle with a clan called The Question. Their tag is <?>. We played with some of their members last week. I have been posting on their forums for the past week getting the details worked out.

Here is a link to their site.... The Question - website

It is possibly going to happen this Friday night at around 11:00 EST.

It will be a best of 5 maps, all CTF.

We are trying for a 8v8. Sign up here if you want in, and if the time works for you. The battle will probably last for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, so be prepared to play for a while.

Sign up here fuckers....

Smitty, aren't you an RO veteran? You should know it will take at least 40 minutes after the start time to "actually" start.

I have tickets to ICE! at the Gaylord Texan (no jokes) so I'm not sure when I'll be back. Taking my daughter. I should be able to make it.

Waz Up guys? Thought I would come by and check out your site. Very nice. I am really looking forward to playin' with you guys. I did not get to play with yall the first time but I have heard nothing but great things about you. It's hard to find some good clans to spar with and I think you guys will be a great match for us. I know we have got 9 people in our lineup tonite with 3 alternates at ready. Can't wait for the good times so i'll see yall on the front lines.

What up Taster!! We also have 9 ready to go with alternates. We don't mind if you guys want to switch different people in from map to map, because we might do the same thing in order to get everyone involved.

Good luck... and don't froget to bring it!!! fire fight

If this works out well for us, maybe we can get a regular thing going between our clans and not just with CoD:W@W but with every other game that we all have in commen as well. I know alot of the guys (and gals) in the clan are hungary for some "real" competition. There's so many clans out there that pride themselves on glitching and camping for whole matches and it just gets irritating trying to find a decent game anymore. We end up batteling ourselves most of the time. Anyways, I'm amped for tonite's games and I'll definitely show up with my balls on.
Good Luck and may the best team win.

Well, our battle was of the upmost suckitude. I was really looking forward to a nice big 9v9 battle but our connection sucked big donkey balls. I guess we should have done a modest 6v6 to begin with. Well, you learn by doing. Anyways, Kenobi says he's talking with yall about a 6v6 on Dec 26th around 11:30 again. Hope to see yall there

I still can't figure out what happened on your side. Our guys connection seemed to work very smooth on our side. We had no lag. I know that Aszball had some really bad lag though. I'm not sure if one persons bad connection would just screw up one team or the whole server.

When we get a good connection in a 18 person ranked room, it seems to work fine with maybe a little lag here and there.

Anyways, we look forward to kickng the living crap out of.... ummm, I mean having a good friendly battle with you guys again. lol

One thing though, we played 2 nights in a row with you guys. That Thursday night in a ranked room and then Friday in the battle. Both times all of us witnessed Aszball lagging really bad!! Not just a little. He was blinking on and off, and skipping across the board like a christmas light!!! I would be willling to bet that it was his connection that screwed up the server on Firday night. No offense to Aszball, but we have to ask that you not have him in the battles unless he is going to upgrade his connection.

Friday night sounds good for the battle. Maybe we could both put together teams of 6 and do two 6v6 battles simultaneoulsy.

<?>taster - December 22, 2008 06:22 PM (GMT)
yea, Aszball has had some connect issues but never as bad as it was the other nite. As far as why your connection was not so bad Friday nite, You guys were hosting, therefore the hosts' team will suffer less lag then the team with the guy with the lag. I have one of the best connections in our clan of an average of about 15megs a second download with an upload that averages around 1meg a sec and I did offer to host our game but no one took me up on it. The thing about lag is, The PS3 tries to keep the whole team in synch and if 1 guy has a bad connect then the PS3, like any server, tries to compensate by matching everyone's connection to the guy that's lagging which in turn causes the connection interupted which happens when 1 team is lagging so bad that the PS3 or server can't keep both teams matched because of the severe difference in connection rates. A perfect example of a laggy host would be when you get a Connection interupted message and the game ends and you end up at the scoring screen like after a round, you'll notice 1 guy with a green connect with everyone else in the red or yellow. That guy with the green connect is the laggy host and since everyone else's connect was faster then his, the game crashes cause the PS3 can't synch everyone together. Anyway's, this is all boring IT bullshit, I'd rather be killin' folks 2 guns See yall later this week.

Don't think you hosting would have helped. I hosted battles that night and I have 15 down/15 up.

Like you said, "get rid of the weak link" (connection), which we believe is Aszball. That might solve your teams connection issues. Our entire team ran flawlessly.

Taster,

Just upgraded to 20 down/20 up. We should try it again to see if it works better. Just a friendly test of the broadcast system with nothing on the line.
