Title: Format War Over?

Yes sir. Toshiba has announced today, officially at least, that they are dropping support for HD-DVD!! Finally now the BR movies will hopefully be cheaper.

Microsoft has also dropped support for the HD-DVD add on and there is a rumor that they are in the process of making a Blu-Ray add on! What a bunch of FUCKING IDIOTS! This will ONLY be used to watch movies, like the HD-DVD add on and cannot be used for games this gen on the 360.

Sony will just reap the benefits of M$ royalties and sell even more PS3 because it is the cheapest Blu-Ray player to date.

Normally competition is what drives prices down. When there is no competition, prices usually go up. I doubt the blu-ray movies will come down in price any time soon.

Actually Blu-Ray players have dropped huge in price over the last 6 months. I saw some at Best Buy for between $250 & $400. They used to be $1000 just a year ago.

True but 30 bucks a movie is way too much!

I was thinking that with only 1 format to choose from for High Definition, sells would go up considerably for Blu-Ray...causing prices to fall a little faster the normal.

If your going to buy a BlueRay movie don't be dumb and buy a comedy. Only buy a movie that has special effects worthy of blueray quality. Like Transformers.

I recommend TEARS OF THE SUN, APOCAPLYPTO?, BLACK HAWK DOWN(BEST IF YOU HAVE SOROUND SOUND VOL HIGH)
