Title: They pull me back in...
Description: #5 Undisputed Challenge

The Godfather - July 29, 2009 10:38 PM (GMT)
Over ten thousand spectators strong roil and rage in anger and excitement. In the waning minutes of Egyptian sunlight, it is a light flowing melody stirring their emotions. Grand crescendoes glide up into fleeting decresendoes, all leading into one great moment before giving way to a rolling mandolin. People from all around the country have traveled to Shubra el Khaima, home of the open air Plastic Stadium, to witness professional wrestling as only PRW can showcase it. With the floodlights flickering on, the fans find release in jeering the one the music heralds.

Bob Saget: Ladies and Gentlemen!

From inside the ring, Saget addresses the audience. Most are seated in the stands while those more fortunate sit about ringside in folding chairs upon the beaten lawn. Down the central aisle towards one end of the stadium is the stage, glittering and lit with all manner of lighting. Above the entrance portico sits the huge screen. The brilliance of the setup comes alive as the last fleeting rays of sun cut out over the western horizon. A violin assumes the melody while a lone spotlight fixes its gaze upon the stage.

Bob Saget: Please welcome PRW Hall of Fame member...

Into the crisp light steps a man all dressed in white: a three piece suit, leather shoes and a fedora with a red band circling about its base. Silver pieces of jewelry glimmer and shine on his hands; a crimson tie accents the ensemble perfectly. With a confident air he walks down the ramp towards the ring.

Bob Saget: "The Godfather" Vincenzo Savonarola!

With the long aisle so wide, grubby hands cannot reach Vincenzo and his smart, unblemished attire. With his hat cocked in the manner that it is, his face remains largely hidden. All except for his sneering mouth and thin mustache. At the base of the steel steps on the nearest corner of the ring, Vincenzo begins his ascent. Once reaching the top he strides along the apron and examines the foreign, enraged mass of people.

Vincenzo Savonarola: Just like home. Pathetic. Jealous.

Those steel gray eyes finally visible, peer out. Disgusted with, uncaring for and bored of these people, Savonarola bows into the ring and snatches Saget's microphone from him. The symphonic sounds die out and give center stage to The Godfather. After a sweltering day, the faint breeze of the night trickles through the air, carrying away the last remnants of uncomfortable heat. Vincenzo paces about, a firm look about his face despite deep, sagging wrinkles.

Vincenzo Savonarola: That's right. Do as you always do. Bear unto me your hatred and displeasure. Let me know the laments that you all hold so deep within you. Cast them my way so I may stand upon them as one might a mountain, from atop which I will look down and pity you. For I am not motivated by the love or loathing of a stranger. I do not fear judgement or retribution; there is nothing gained in fearing the inevitable and uncontrollable.

Heckling from the audience both grows and subsides within this first part of the speech.

Vincenzo Savonarola: To put it plainly, what happens invariably happens. In knowing this, I do as I please. I understand and am willing to deal with the repercussions of my actions when they come. It is for that reason, along with my success and confidence, why the patrons and competitors of this business despise me.

That contempt, in its bare bones, is fear. To see my name on the card, to hear the symphony that fortells my coming or to behold me in the flesh, shakes any opponent to the core. Those that shout obscenities in my face cannot help that envious feeling in their stomachs. In the months prior to my return all those nervous feelings were lifted from your shoulders, the ever looming shadow of my greatness recoiled into obscurity and allowed would-be superstars to fill the void. Now, the imposing and true standard of excellence in this federation is reset. The bar is set high and not a single soul stands above it.

In my absence, champions have been dethroned and recrowned; their flames fading and resurging in the shifting wind. Barely able to withstand change, unable to persevere and reign as true champions should. The pedestal upon which these pathetic excuses warily stand has been further corroded by the acidic venom of lowly invaders. Rabid, rookie wretches hungering for underserved glory that, despite their intelligence and nature, have worked to shape this company in their image. Watching from the outside in, it was clear to see the foundations were about to crumble and bring this federation to ruin. The house I worked to build, on the verge of dilapidation. For so long I said, "Let if fall."

Vincenzo wipes his mouth, still waltzing about the ring. Each strong point he makes is accentuated with dramatic arm movement and body language. The audience jeers every so often but still hangs on his every word.

Vincenzo Savonarola: Yet, after much thought I came to the realization. PRW has fallen. This bastion of wrestling grandeur is suffering the same fate as the pharaohs. To understand this, that is the reason I am here. From the rubble and dust PRW will be fashioned anew, in the living representation of my vision. All by my hand.

He clenches his fist tightly in the air.

Vincezo Savonarola: Every reconstruction project must begin with someone, somewhere. It was to begin with me at the last pay-per-view. For you see, at Revolution I had planned to do away with one, Matt Caje. A true cornerstone of PRW turned failing bedrock. Though, to my surprise, a veiled voice of the past intervened and laid the pair of us out. It was then that I realized I was not the only one bearing witness to the destruction of this place. He saw the need to do away with Caje and went through me to do it. I applaud whoever this Trepidation might be. Do as you will to instill nervousness and apprehension into your victims, because their end is coming, whether by your hand or mine. Just be sure never to cross my path again. After all, that lead pipe did leave me smarting.

So, it is on to Clash of the Titans V in the shadow of Giza. That is where Caje will be ultimately dealt with. From there, any and all that wish to challenge me can have their day and attempt to make a name for themselves at the exepnse of Vincenzo Savonarola. It will be in vain, though they try. Before long, the weeds will have been cleared and the path left open for me to walk. Down that path I wish to find competition worthy of a champion so that when I finally do assume that coveted title which sits around sickly Logan's waist, no one can deny my right to reign over PRW. As it was, I sat before the window watching a slow death and now the promises of new opponents and challenges has presented it self. They pull me back in the window, tugging at my will to overcome and succeed. They shall have it.

How fitting, too, that my next order of business would be one of those that have inspired me to return. A most hated enemy. Clever as a fox, conniving like a Wall Street broker. One who has issued me tremendous disprespect countless times and has ultimately, claimed twice the prize I seek now.

Vincenzo walks to the ropes nearest the entranceway and then holds a welcoming arm out.

Vincenzo Savonarola: Hutton Brown!

All at once, people rise up and cheer in a manner befitting a test of two heels.

Vincenzo Savonarola: We have unfinished business more than a year overdue. Bring yourself down here to face me and make sure to bring your Undisputed Championship ranking to sweeten the deal.

At that, Vincenzo tosses the microphone away and begins to disrobe. Underneath that suit he has been ready with a pair of short, white wrestling trunks initialed in red with the letters "VS" in script. Matching boots are offered to him by an attendant. Once ready, he awaits a response from Hutton Brown.

Hey Yeah, I’m a Superbeast!

The lights in the arena quickly dim as “Superbeast Remix” begins to play throughout the arena, the opening shout bringing an X crashing to the titatron and shattering it. The impact of the X forces a column of steam to rise from the ramp as the moment of silence in the song comes to a quick end. Vincenzo Savonarola turns slowly towards the ramp which his opponent while soon arrive from, not seemingly concerned with the man he’d just issued a challenge to.

Hey Yeah, I’m a Superbeast!

Hardly a moment later the silhouette of The Rated X Superstar can be seen pushing his way through the column of steam, before standing firm at the top of the ramp. One can not be sure if it is rage or humor that fills his eyes, their icy cold stare attempting to burn through the one returned from The Godfather.

Brunswick: I believe that business is truly about to pick up here Ladies and Gentlemen.

Smith: Oh you bet your ass Josh. The history over the years between these two superstars has been intense and I predict another instant classic here tonight.

His traditional attire aside, the briefcase held firmly within the grip of Hutton’s right hand caught most of the Egyptian fans attention. While easily something to be concerned over due to its recent use, the small black case was now had the Rated X Superstar logo marking each side of the case. And The Master Manipulator seems fit to flaunt his new found toy proudly, adopting his wide stance mid way down the ramp and hoisting the case, rather than The Rated X Championship, into the air.

Bob Saget: Ladies and Gentlemen, at this time please, please welcome; The Rated X Champion, Hutton Brown!

A few random shots of pyrotechnics explode from the stage before the row of red X’s finish the display as Hutton holds his stance, looking up toward the rafters. Finally pulling himself away from the pose, The Rated X Champion continues his decent to the ring, notably quicker than most of his usual entrances. Tonight seemed to be just a little more serious than most as The Ultimate Opportunist climbed the stars quickly, grabbing a microphone during his ascent. Sliding his briefcase into what would perhaps be his corner of the squared circle, Hutton stopped upon the apron, his eyes locking with those of The Godfather for a long moment before finally entering the ring. Making sure to keep just enough distance between himself and Vincenzo Savonarola, Hutton allowed “Superbeast” to die out slowly before finally raising his microphone with deep words set to lash out at his rival.

Hutton: How wise do you truly think this is Vincenzo?

The Godfather narrows his eyes at the question given to him by his greatest foe. Hardly expecting a true answer from The Godfather, Hutton cracks a small smirk before continuing.

Hutton: Or has history truly taught you nothing over the past two years?

This time the fans answer Hutton’s question with a “What” chant, The Rated X Superstar amused by their antics.

Hutton: Let the record show that I have beaten you not once…

QUOTE (“PRW House Show @ October 2007”)
A dazed ref not sure of what to make out of this situation does the only thing he can as he lifts his hand up, bringing it hard down on the mat.

- ONE -

Johnathan shaking the cobwebs out of his head just enough to bring his hand up again and slam it down.

- TWO -

Now bringing himself back to his senses, looking at the downed Godfather and the seemingly unconscious Hutton on top, he has no other choice but to lift his hand up... and come down again.

- THREE!!! -

The ref stands to his feet with every ounce of strength he can bundle up and throws his hand towards the ring announce as the bell is rung and Hutton Brown is helped to his feet by Johnathan. Holding Huttons hand high in the air, the ring announcer proceeds to announce his name as the well earned victor and the closer of this match.

The clip conveniently does not show the interference on the part of former Rated X Enterprises associate David Rage that had lead to the victory, but Hutton plays blissfully unaware that it may have ever taken place.

Hutton: Not twice…

QUOTE (“PRW House Show @ February 2008”)
The Godfather could see and, as he reached out with his right hand, almost touch his release, his fingertips grazing the ropes gently, but not enough for him to be freed. Hutton applied added pressure to the hold, forcing Vinchenzo to drop his hand to the mat and lock his arms to prevent himself from falling onto his chest. When he could feel a moment of lighter pressure, The Godfather moved, stretching his arm out as far as he could; almost a quarter of his fingers able to rest on the ropes, but it wasn't enough.

Brunswick: The Godfather is touching the ropes for crying out loud ref. Make Hutton let go.

Smith: He doesn't have the ropes yet. He has to physically grab them for Hutton to HAVE to let go.

Brunswick: Touch and grab are the same thing.

Smith: Not when it comes to a sexual harassment lawsuit.

His arm outstretch, Vinchenzo's spirit plunged when he was viciously yanked away from the ropes by Hutton. The Rated X Superstar was intent on winning tonight, and he couldn't, no, wouldn't let The Godfather free himself from the X-Factor if he had anything to say about it. But Mr. Savonarola continued to fight back, fighting through the pain and plant his hands once more, lifting himself up in an attempt to reproduce his near escape just moments ago. Nothing could seem to stop The Godfather, until another shockwave of pain rocked Vinchenzo Savonarola and he collapsed to the mat, unable to hold himself up any longer against the brutal pain. He slammed his fist on the mat, angered by his own failure as Hutton held the hold as tight as possible, just before he tapped out.

A legitimate victory this time, Hutton seems to bask in the glory of toppling the Hall of Famer before continuing.

Hutton: But three times.

QUOTE (“PRW 24/7 @ December 2008”)
Vincenzo drives a hard forearm to the back of The Rated X Superstar, but Hutton pushes Savonarola away, into the corner. His back slamming into the corner, Vincenzo spies Hutton stumble as he tries to follow up; the effects of the heavy knee affecting his opponent. But Hutton tries to keep going, recovering as quick as possible and moving towards the corner, right into an elbow from Savonarola. The shot sends Hutton back a few steps and to one knee, the heavy offense of The Godfather forcing him to slow down and catch his breath. And while The Rated X Superstar slows down, Vincenzo speeds up; stepping out to the apron and quickly climbing the turnbuckle. The Godfather dives off the turnbuckle as Hutton reaches a vertical base, only to jump down flat to his stomach as his opponent flies’ overhead. Savonarola crashes into the mat after the crossbody, and jumps back up to his feet, clutching his gut in pain. He stumbles backwards, right into Hutton’s hands, and with the help of a simple rollup; as well as his legs on the ropes after the referee slides over, he looks to put The Godfather away.  Hutton manages to score the pin as the referee does not notice his legs upon the ropes.

The end of Hutton’s little clip show brings about a resounding boost of overall negativity from the Egyptian fans in attendance tonight. The Godfather takes a long moment, allowing the crowd to release there emotions, before finally raising his microphone to justify Hutton’s claims.

Vincenzo: Perhaps, Hutton Brown, you have forgotten about Summerfest 2008?

Hutton: Oh no Vincenzo, I saved the best for last.

Savonarola’s eyebrows rise once again, intrigued as to what reason The Ultimate Opportunist would have saved his only defeat for the last item on his list.

Hutton: Savor that victory for as long as you like Vincenzo, but ultimately, I was the victor then as well.

Vincenzo: Excuse me?

Hutton: Yes, I was defeated, but I refused to take that defeat lying down. Instead, I challenged you to the thing closest to your heart; your power.

Memories of the true rise of Rated X Enterprises and The Rated X Army allow Hutton a brief smile as he takes a few steps away from The Godfather.

Hutton: My repeated challenges to you went unanswered, and slowly but surely, your continual disrespect caused them to grow in severity.

Seemingly at a temporary loss of words, Vincenzo slowly lowers his microphone to allow Hutton to continue. Rage burns within his chest, but deep deep down, Savonarola knows that The Rated X Superstar’s words are true.

Hutton: I won’t ask when Vincenzo, but I’ll admit my curiosity over just exactly when I became too much for you. When you fled from me, ultimately forfeiting your power to me at Clash of the Titans IV.

A stiffening reminder to The Godfather over the events that had taken place nearly one year ago, yes, but well worth the effort. Even the Egyptian fans seemed to be entertaining by the banter.

Hutton: So I’ll ask you once again Vincenzo, how wise do you truly think this is? For if you insist upon this course of action here tonight, I warn you…

Finally removing his coat from his shoulders, Hutton walks to the ropes before handing it off to a techie at ringside. His back turned towards The Godfather, Hutton also relinquishes The Rated X Championship from around his waist, passing it off to the techie as well before returning to face Vincenzo Savonarola.

Hutton: I will finish what I started one year ago!

Slamming the microphone to the ground, Hutton throws a stern look towards the referee, clearly mouthing the words “Ring the Bell”.

The Godfather - August 5, 2009 10:25 PM (GMT)
And so the fifth in-ring encounter between these two men begins with the shrill rapping of the timekeeper's bell. In that quick moment between the first and last tones, the two competitors put all their words aside and plot their initial attacks. A prepared Hutton Brown paces mildly near center ring and goads his opponent forth with fierce hand gestures. Watching cautiously, Vincenzo approaches calmy with a face of stone. He must try not to betray any emotion. Emotion lends leverage to your enemies. The distance between the two closes while the roar of the crowd rises. With not but a yard between them, both seem hesitant to make the first move. Perhaps unknowing of how best to gain the upper hand early on.

Josh Brunswick: Just like that, in the course of a few moments we have what promises to be an instant classic on our hands.

Doug Smith: If by classic you mean played out, then yes. After four matches, most of which Hutton dominated, I doubt there is much more these men can show us.

Josh Brunswick: And that is where you are at fault, Smith. I expect a grand show from these competitors, as do these fans.

Steel gray eyes stare steadily into Hutton's own. Mere moments pass by during this stand-off, the two men searching deep into one anothers' thoughts. Looking for any plots that might be given away in the reflections of the mind's windows. A quick and sudden shift in Vincenzo's sockets sets Hutton off as he quickly looks behind himself in the perceived anticipation of an outside attack. Vincenzo then takes this time to attempt a strike at his opponent's back. He grasps at Brown's arm and tries to wrench it into a hammerlock. Yet, unbeknownced to the eager Godfather, the Rated X Superstar had expected these actions all along. For when he saw that shift in Vincenzo's eye, he knew there was no one behind him; and that when he would turn about, the opportunistic Savonarola would seek to take advantage. In return of this failed deceit, Brown sizes up a thunderous elbow to his foe's jaw. Vincenzo falls back amid roars of approval and hatred.

Josh Brunswick: Ouch, and it appears Hutton Brown has come to Egypt ready for a fight!

How could he have been so careless? After his little trick backfires, Vincenzo rages within his own mind. But reason cuts through quickly and begs him not to overcompensate for such a mistake. He grabs at his chin, the dull dolorous feeling leaving just as quickly as it was delivered. In response, he straightens up and lunges in for a lock-up. Brown appears to oblige, but craftily slips away from the tie-up and takes control of Savonarola's left arm. He places him quickly into an arm bar and proceeds to wrench it backwards. Vincenzo unwillingly bows down. Just simple twitches from Hutton's hands bring pain to his opponent's limb. He leads him to mid-ring, contorts it more and then sizes up another elbow. This time it crashes down upon the joint at Vincenzo's shoulder. He flinches from the attack, trying not to cry out. Another blow across the shoulder throws The Godfather to one knee. Savonarola spins his head about and looks coarsely at his attacker.

Doug Smith: Maybe Vinny should have stayed home.

Josh Brunswick: The match has barely started, I doubt The Godfather regrets his challenge. At least not yet...

Doug Smith: See, even you know that geezer may have bitten off more than he can chew...again!

Brown smirks menacingly, both to infuriate Vincenzo and make himself feel good. Add in a bit more insult to Savonarola's situation; Hutton rears back his leg and places his boot right across his challenger's chest. One more for good measure. Two seems a bit low in number to Brown, though, so he takes the liberty of kicking Vincenzo just once more. From there he stoops down and leads Savonarola to his feet, the arm still twisted. A snapmare tosses Vincenzo over Huttons' shoulder and onto the mat with a thud. In the process, his ailing arm finds relief and recoils close to its body. The Godfather tries to keep moving by standing up off of his hip and turning to face Hutton. His head snaps to the side from a solid right hand. Instincts propel Vincenzo's right hand towards the culprit and connects with a cheek. Brown falters but fires back just as Vincenzos throws another shot. The two nail each other at the same time and repeat this several times over before Vincenzo has the sense to block. Dazed from the trade-off, Hutton has little time to react and is dropped with a fist to the nose.

Doug Smith: Hutton had Vincenzo where he wanted him in that armbar, Brunny.

Josh Brunswick: But, now it appears Vincenzo has taken control.

Vincenzo shakes his left arm to drive away the pain. He follows up swiftly by putting the boots to Hutton. A set of soles to the chest and stomach hammer down on Brown, leaving fleeting red marks on his body. To finish up his footwork, Vincenzo places the heel of his boot at the top of his most hated foe's forehead. With a jerk he snaps the foot down to the canvas across the scalp. Searing, stinging pain races along Hutton's head causing him to flop over on his stomach and clutch his head. This simple offense is effective. Hutton Brown is now a bit off balance and the anger is no doubt mounting in the pit of his stomach. Mockingly, Savonarola leans over his opponent and viciously slaps the back of his head.

Vincenzo Savonarola: You think this is the end? You're going to finish me, is that it? Huh!?

Vincenzo slaps him again as Hutton begins to rise.

Vincenzo Savonarola: We're just getting started, you and I!

|A sharp kick to the top of Hutton's head sends him back down to the mat, another blow to the ear flops him over onto his back. The violent onslaught blurs Brown's vision for a moment. As everything comes back into focus he is treated to the sight of the swarthy Savonarola crashing down upon him with an elbow drop. Right across the neck does Vincenzo drive the point of his elbow after which he tries for an early pin attempt.

Kick-Out!

An easy escape for Brown, but the purpose of the cover was not for victory. The Godfather wants to exhaust Hutton in this match. Keep him reeling and force him to react at every junction. Vincenzo stands up from his opponent, takes a few steps back towards the ropes, rebounds and leaps into the air with a boney knee pointing straight down towards Brown's face. The self-crowned champion watches closely and rolls over at the last possible moment. A slap on the canvas and a thud to follow assures Brown that Savonarola dropped all of his wait onto that knee. The Rated X Superstar recovers soonafter and pursues The Godfather. Grabbing him by the head and hair, Hutton leads Vincenzo to his feet, throws a quick forearm uppercut. Vincenzo is sent up on the tips of his toes from the blow and teeters off behind Brown in search of safety and reprieve. He finds none as Hutton employs swift pursuit, grabs two handfuls of greasy hair and rushes the Don's skull into the turnbuckle. Savonarola grimaces in pain after his head lashes back from the pad, he turns about and is shoved into the corner back first and punished with a few back hand chops. In mild desperation he reaches out to Hutton's face and rakes him savagely with his fingernails.|

Doug Smith: This looks like a bar fight so far.

Brown is stricken with momentary blindness, his eyes watering profusely from the cowardly attack. While he regresses towards the middle of the ring, Vincenzo clears the cobwebs from his head and then pursues, a toe kick leading the way. Hutton is struck just below his diaphragm and doubled over, gasping for breath. Savonarola then stands side by side with Brown, stands him up straight, hooks his legs and shoulders and throws him down with a Russian leg sweep. Wodden boards beneath the mat rattle madly and the skirt billows out with Savonarola sitting next to his opponent before the raucous foreign fans.

DarkSabre - August 8, 2009 12:48 AM (GMT)
Clutching his head and rolling over onto his stomach, Hutton finds no relief in trying to put some distance between himself and Vincenzo Savonarola. Instead, The Don of PRW takes hold of Hutton’s left leg as he pull himself slowly to his feet; the action holding The Rated X Champion firmly in place. Moving towards Brown methodically, Savonarola places his left leg in front of his opponents and locks the appendage in place by clamping on tightly with his right leg behind it. Pulling himself up to the tips of his toes, The Godfather falls forward, snapping The Master Manipulator’s leg back quickly and painfully. Much like his bitter rival, Hutton refuses to acknowledge the pain via a cry or shout, the look on his face however is enough to easily determine just how much the move had affected The Rated X Superstar. Rolling over onto his back and clutching his left leg, Hutton isn’t truly surprised when Vincenzo takes hold of his leg once again.

Brunswick: The Godfather looking to take out the leg of Hutton Brown early in this match-up Doug, and I can’t say it’s a bad move on his part.

Smith: Not at all Josh. In a match like this, Vincenzo is going to be looking to take away the speed advantage Hutton has and bring it to a pace he is more comfortable with.

Brunswick: If Godfather manages to pull it off, I think I can truly say that he’ll have one hell of a chance at a victory here tonight.

The Don of PRW steps over Hutton’s knee, pulling the lower half of Brown’s leg with him as he turns around three hundred and sixty degrees. The Rated X Champion grinds his teeth from the heavy shocks of pain that flash through his leg as Savonarola locks in a spinning toe hold. Hutton reaches out with his left hand to try and get a hand upon Vincenzo, only to find the pain overwhelming and drops back to the mat. His hands grip his hair tightly as he bares clenched teeth, only to find that in doing so he has unintentionally put himself in a pinning predicament.

One..

Two..

Only realizing his mistake at the last second, Hutton pulls himself up off the mat as Vincenzo steps forward over his knee, increasing the pressure on his ankle and knee. The Master Manipulator goes down to his back again but quickly pulls one of his shoulders off the mat, refusing to repeat the mistake he’d made moments earlier. Savonarola puts his body fully into the twist of the ankle, causing another massive wave of pain to overtake The Rated X Champion. Hutton’s back falls to the mat again, this time not quick enough to avoid the pin count.

One..

Yet Hutton’s shoulder shoots off the mat once again as Vincenzo adjusts his grip, step back over Hutton’s knee and leaving him vulnerable for just a moment. Rearing back with his right leg, The Ultimate Opportunist takes advantage of the quick opportunity and drives his foot forward into the chest of The Godfather. The kick seems to have been quite powerful, for it dislodges Savonarola’s grip and forces him back a step, allowing Hutton a chance to position his leg away from Vincenzo.

Brunswick: One kick and The Godfather’s grip was broken, but he’s right back on the attack. Hutton needs to find a moment to escape his clutches.

Vincenzo gets a handful of Hutton’s hair and uses his leverage over The Rated X Superstar to pull the younger man up to his feet. Already close to the corner, Savonarola presses Brown back into the ropes before aiming for an irish whip, Hutton’s leg proving too weak after the abuse and he nearly collapses, falling into the far corner. The Don of PRW backs away quickly, moving to the farthest side of the ring from Brown before pressing himself deep into the corner. Dashing out, The Godfather eyes his opponent up for a clothesline in the corner but Hutton reacts quickly, pressing his right elbow out. Vincenzo finds himself with no time to react and collides headlong with the counterattack, stumbling away as Hutton pulls himself out of the corner. Hoping to move this counter into his first true offensive stance, Hutton is suddenly disappointed when his left leg gives out on him, forcing The Master Manipulator down to one knee.

Brunswick: Hutton may have escaped The Godfather’s hold Doug, but we can clearly see that the damage may already have been done to The Rated X Champion.

Smith: Hutton is going to have to dig deep and put that pain behind him. Otherwise he is going to have a hell of a time utilizing his usual quick paced offense.

Still testing the abilities of his now wounded leg, Hutton’s only option is to throw a solid right hand into the cranium of the approaching Savonarola. The punch sends Vincenzo staggering away while the motion sends Hutton slightly off balance, not having yet fully planted his left leg. The Rated X Superstar falls into the ropes, clinging to the top rope to keep himself on at his vertical base while he slowly begins to put pressure on his left leg. The Don of PRW, meanwhile, shakes the cobwebs spun by the attack quickly and reacts to Hutton’s stale tactic, pushing his back against the ropes and repelling off. Via either his leg giving out on him or his own astounding wrestling skill, which we may never know, Hutton drops down to his right knee as The Godfather comes charging at him. With The Ultimate Opportunist’s hands still grasping the top rope, Hutton’s lowered state pulls the rope down, just enough for Vincenzo to fall forward over it, landing hard on the padding outside the ring.

Brunswick: Hutton finally managing to make his way back to his feet but now he’s going to have to stay there.

Smith: The Godfather isn’t going to make that an easy task Josh. Vincenzo will need to keep Hutton away from a vertical base, if only to avoid the high impact brawling game Hutton tends to play.

Crashing hard onto the padded concrete outside the squared circle, Vincenzo rolls away from the ring he’d just been inside. His side collides with the barricade, quickly indicating that The Godfather has no where left to go and must now rise to a vertical base. He does so slowly as, within the ring, Hutton watches carefully as he once more pulls himself up, this time using the ropes as an aide. This time testing his leg, Hutton realizes that the damage his appendage has sustained isn’t nearly as bad as he had predicted, only impeding his movements slightly. The Rated X Champion turns towards the outside of the ring, his grip still firm upon the top rope as he watches Vincenzo pull himself up to his feet. As he rises, The Don of PRW seems more preoccupied with ensuring that the “vermin” that made up this Egyptian crowd did not lay a single hand upon him. During this time however, he was unable to sight Hutton Brown as he leapt over the top rope, aiming his body right for The Godfather.

Smith: And yet Vincenzo has a lot more to worry about than just Hutton’s brawling game Josh. He’s added a whole new list of moves to his arsenal, some that The Godfather may not have seen even.

Brunswick: You’re quite right Doug. I could be wrong, but ever since Hutton took DJ Desmi under his wing, we’ve seen Brown taking a lot more risks. Actually, I think we’re about to see another right here!

Pulling down on the top rope, Hutton leapt cleanly over the top rope, his feet clearly by a few inches. Turning his body sideways as he moved through the air, The Rated X Champion could see the shock in the eyes of his opponent as he came crashing down upon him. The Don of PRW was doomed before he’d had a true chance to react, all two hundred and twenty five pounds of Brown’s body sending him crumbling to the padding once again. Vincenzo is left unmoving for a long moment as Hutton rolls away from his rival, pulling himself into a seated position against the steel steps.

The Godfather - August 13, 2009 05:02 PM (GMT)
Josh Brunswick: What a beautiful cross body!

The steel against Hutton's back holds traces of the day's heat; lukewarm and gritty from the humid sand-saturated air. The great leap from inside the ring has left Brown's chest heaving and brought on a much welcomed chill rippling across his skin. All of this comes over him, having pulled off such an excellent maneuver. He gambled in this game of chess, despite a weakned limb, and took the winnings of the last hand. With Vincenzo ailing on the ground, his back twisted and skull pounding, the Rated X Superstar is in control.

Doug Smith: Look at Hutton's face, Josh. He's cooking somthing up for Vincenzo.

A mild smirk curls up on Brown's mouth. He stands up from his seat against the steps and assumes a looming stance over Vincenzo. He watches this formidable opponent worming around on the ground as if he were a serpent suffering in pain. In coming across this revolting and much hated sight, Hutton lashes out and stomps the snake on the head. Vincenzo flops over onto his stomach while somehow assuming all fours. Still offended by Savonarola's presence, Brown places another foot about the man's midsection. Again, the Godfather rolls over and, this time, crashes up against the metal perimeter. So vulnerable he is. Vicious knee drops find their mark on Vincenzo's abdomen and chest. Knee after knee crashes down upon Savonarola until, finally, Hutton relents and plans his next course of action.

Doug Smith: Keep up the pressure, Champ!

Josh Brunswick: Self-appointed champ, mind you. Though it will be interesting to see where Hutton's offense leads.

|What a predicament Vincenzo has found himself in. At the feet of this Egyptian audience, smelling the funk that eminates from between their toes and the stench that is of stale beer spilled upon the ground. Disgusting to say the least. With these people goading him, mocking his position on the ground, another feeling mixes into Vincenzo's stomach: embarassment. Embarassment for what Hutton has done to him thus far, embarassment for allowing himself to be lowered before the feet of common people. These strong feelings drive him up to his feet, using the rails to stablize himself. Brown, meanwhile, searches under the ring skirt for some sort of weapon. What he finds is an old but useful standby. The steel chair...|[i]

Doug Smith: Now we're talking!

[i]|Hutton beholds this seat fashioned from metal, examining its reflective beauty and potential as a device of destruction. He then glances over his shoulder to The Godfather now leaning on the guard rail corner. Hutton takes a few practice swings, posing himself like a major league hitter before approaching Vincenzo.|

Hutton Brown: Hey, over here you greasy twat!

Vincenzo perks up, not sure of what he just heard.

Hutton Brown: Yeah, you! Garlic breath!

Vincenzo spins about in a rage, sure that Hutton is behind such insults. The steel chair, thrown at him by Brown, grabs his attention however. Vincenzo makes the catch and looks at it, puzzled. The rushing sound of feet upon the padded cement brings his focus back to Hutton Brown, but not before the Superbeast lunges at his prey. The force of the blow drivs Vincenzo backwards into the steel once more, causing two rows of people to leap back from the impact. Yet, in landing this attack, Hutton is left smarting on the ground.

Josh Brunswick: Oh my! A total Breakdown!

Doug Smith: That's Rated X, Brunny!

Once again, Vincenzo is at the people's feet and on the receiving end of Hutton's damaging offense. Being slammed against the barrier, drilled in the stomach and dropped to ground have all put Vincenzo is a world of hurt. He is unable to stand, but panic and pain force him to scurry about on the floor, looking for relief. Hoping for refuge. Yet he finds none with the fans at ringside, they spill drinks and whatnot upon him, one man even takes it upon himself to spit at The Godfather. Brown is undergoing a similar experience, though it is not as rough. The people appreciate such an effort on his part, so they cheer for the brutality but remain aware of the man's true nature. As he rolls about on the ground, holding his tender shoulder, insults galore reign down upon him.

Josh Brunswick: This crowd is relentless!

In his weary search, Vincenzo finds the ring apron and tries to pull himself up. Brown recovers much more quickly and stands up off the ground, batting away hands reaching out to him. He stomps over to Vincenzo who is leaning over the apron, head down. Brown rakes his back, a move straight out of Savonarola's book, and then proceeds to slam his foes head into the canvas once it rears back. He follows up by rolling The Godfather into the ring. Vincenzo rollls away from the ropes and hurries to a far corner, placing his back against the lowest turnbuckle, putting as much distance as he can between he and Hutton. Brown leaps onto the apron and enters through the ropes normally and then immediately resets his sights on Savonarola. In his corner, Vincenzo grabs the top ropes and hoists himself up to his feet, seemingly off balance. Brown hunkers down and charges, pumping his legs at 110%. Vincenzo turns his right side to face Hutton, clenches his hands together and then unleashes a Polish Hammer just as his aggressor lunges. The shot catches him just under the jaw; a blow so solid it look as if Brown could have been decapitated.

Doug Smith: Hutton is floored!

Josh Brunswick: Vincenzo needs to capitalize on this quickly.

Doug Smith: He's stumbling around, Josh. I don't know if he knows where he is.

With his body still fighting him, Vincenzo works through the lingering pain and stoops down to grab Hutton by the head. He drags him from the corner, sits the fake champion up and then proceeds to lock in a buffalo sleeper; Hutton's arm is wrenched behind his head with The Godfather's strung under his chin and around his neck. With the limb trapped and pressed against his neck, the blood flow to his head slows, it becomes harder to breathe. As an added measure, Vincenzo whips his foe back and forth, like a wolf might do to his prey.

Josh Brunswick: Buona Notte! Is it good night for Hutton Brown?

[Not A Submission Attempt]

Lights slowly begin to fade and noises begin to diminish as the oxygen is slowly robbed from the body of The Rated X Superstar. Hutton grips tightly around the arm of Vincenzo Savonarola as the Don of PRW tries to suck the life out of Brown with a Buffalo Sleeper, the Buona Notte. His body is whipped back and forth by The Godfather, trying to send Hutton into a state of unconsciousness that would grant him a victory in this high profile contest. Yet forces beyond Vincenzo Savonarola’s control seem to continue to prevent him from scoring another victory against Hutton Brown, this time in the form of Kayla Swanson. The young valet of Brown’s charges to the ring and picks up the steel chair left upon the floor by the two competitors; sliding slowly into the ring behind The Don of PRW. With The Godfather’s back to her, Ms. Swanson brings the chair down upon the back of Savonarola with all her might, the blow weak compared to that of any other superstar.

Brunswick: I’m not sure what Kayla was thinking Doug, but now see’s gotten herself into some really big trouble.

Smith: Kayla was trying to help Hutton out of a bind and now she finds herself in one in exchange. What’s The Godfather going to do to her?

Vincenzo rises after the attack, turning towards a now frightened Kayla Swanson as she drops the chair and begins to slowly backpedal, her hands up as she pleads with Savonarola. The Don of PRW steps forward as she moves back, stepping over the steel chair as Kayla finds herself against the rope with nowhere else to go. The Godfather slowly dons a small smirk as he realizes that Ms. Swanson is cornered, only to have that smirk vanish as quickly as it appeared. Kayla looks down to see an arm in between the legs of Vincenzo, The Godfather’s eyes wide following the low blow. Brown struggles to his feet while The Don of PRW struggles to stay on his feet, only for Brown to overhook each of his arms. Pivoting around one hundred and eighty degrees Hutton positions Vincenzo’s head over the steel chair quickly before dropping straight down; his movement planting The Godfather on the chair with an Inverted Double Underhook Facebuster, Blacklight. Rolling Vincenzo over after the quick finisher maneuver, Hutton hooks the outside leg and hopes for another victory.

Win Attempt!

OOC: I forgot about this and it seems Godfather went AWOL once again, so it’s short, sweet, and to the point.
