My friend is having to give up her staffie because she has a little girl and another baby on the way and also has another dog so I think shes finding it hard to cope etc.
I've said I'l have her until we can find her a better home to save her going into the kennels nearest to us as they are not very good, and not very picky about who they rehome their dogs to

Her names Phoebe, she is about 3 years old, shes been spayed.

Shes great with other dogs, cats, kids of all ages (shes living with a 1 year old and has been since the baby was born).

She is a lovely dog, she was a rescue, when they got her a couple of years ago she had just had pups and all the pups had been sold but no1 wanted poor phoebe

She is great off lead and doesn't pull when on lead. Not food or toy possessive with humans or other dogs.

Shes a near perfect dog really, Loves a cuddle, but goes to her bed when told.

Best not left for too long (prob about 4 hours at most) at a time, because she does sometimes wee and poo on the floor. Which is why my friend is having to rehome her because of the kids. She has always done this, we dont know why it is but shes done it ever since they had her, and she sometimes does a little dribble if she gets scared (from people arguing or shouting at her).

If a foster home could be found for her that would be perfect, I would take full responsibility for having her back if there were any problems. She should be coming to live with me as of next week. My landlord wont be too happy but im too soft, i cant see her be homed with just anyone!

Shes about pumpkins build but not as chunky and stocky

I hope you can too Chloe. She looks so settled in that photo What a real shame for her when she was only rescued 2 years ago......good of you to save her going into rescue again though. I wish you luck finding her a forever home.

Thanks guys lol :) i just dont wanna see her in kennels again poor little girl :(

I forgot to say in the first post that sometimes she dus a little wee when shes exited to see you aswell, if you've been out for a few hours or something lol. I dont know why her bladders a bit weak like that? Maybe from having pups so young? :dunno:

I've given Pumpkin hugs for you :D shes sitting by my feet as i type!

Thats fairly normal for a submissive dog, the way to stop it is to keep her bladder empty and dont fuss her when you come in, particularly indoors. You need to stop that first greeting when you come in.

btw, if she came from a rescue there may be a contract to send her back if the owner cant keep her, thats pretty standard.

ChloeP - September 6, 2010 10:06 AM (GMT)
yeh thats what they do, just open the bk door as soon as they get in and she goes out there for a wee.

i will ask about the contract and see what it says

ChloeP - September 6, 2010 12:52 PM (GMT)
No contract apparently! so back to square one.

Good news,

She has decided to keep Phoebe now because they r moving to a house with a shed, which they will turn into a kennel for her for wen they go out so if she goes to the toilet it will be in there :fab:

I am glad she will be staying with her family and I hope that Phoebe accepts the shed, some dont and the Staffies will do a lot of damage if they want to get out :yikes:

Good luck Phoebe :fab:
