Title: Tetra and dwarf tropical frog
Description: Extra fish for community tank

Harvey - March 22, 2010 01:25 PM (GMT)
Very sadly and for their safety because of my forthcoming move as well as owing to the fact that I need a whole new tank set up but my funds must go on the move, I have to find someone to offer a home to our 5 Cardinal Tetra and their friend, Aloysius the African Dwarf Frog.

As they are community creatures they will live happily with other gentle fish but of course are small so must not be housed with more aggressive species or they'll become dinner.

Pleas e pm me if you can help.

I'm gonna miss my little frog...

How do you keep the frog..does it live in the aquarium too ?
I cant take them but I just wondered..there is a man next door single nice chap..35 - he did have a tank possibly still does..has a cat .good money sportscar.. shall I ask him? He rarely sees us but I can put a note in his door with your phone number? Is the frog compatible with a cat as long as it is kept in its own container?

My sister said she could take the fish and frog.

She has 100litre tank with Cardinal Tetra and Black Emperiar Tetra in it so they should be right at home.

If you are still trying to find a home, did you want to PM me where abouts you live so we can sort out details :)

B*gger the frog Yvonne, this man's 35, single, with a sports car and well off?? Send him round!!!

Ok, ok, seriously, I think my ex husband will take them (as far as I understand it from the girls), but thank you for offering to help.

As for the frog, he's diddy and spends his time totally in water. He'll poke his nose above the surface for a short while but he doesn't bask or sit atop rocks, being a bottom of tank feeder and lurker. He's about 1.25 inches long.

This isn't my frog, but it's a very good example of what African Dwarf Frogs look like.

Dont be too enthusiastic he may be your prince but you might think he looks like a frog! LOL He works in senior management IT and is a musician too lovely gentle man ( he smokes) - has had his heart broken..on his own such a lot..he is from up North somewhere. ..no kids.. name of Dave. :D
sounds like the frog is spoken for now what about the Princess? :innocent:

Anyone needing a good ol' fashioned toad, we got a plague of 'em here.

Harvey - March 22, 2010 09:45 PM (GMT)
Funnily enough, "Princess" is the nickname which my long ago ex boyfriend and still dear friend, Paul, uses for me. Don't think I've ever heard him call me by my real name, just Princess or Spangle!

But, you can strike out the man next door to you Yvonne. I can just about handle the idea of a man who works in IT, but a Northerner.... no fear!!!

Toads, Dave, now thems another matter altogether. I likes toads, I does. :D

Becks, jus spotted your post, thank you, you're a sweetheart, but I think they might be better off in a larger tank with other fish, so hopefully, if all is well, they already have a home lined up now.

I love toads & frogs, soo much so I have a frog tattoo on my ribs.

The other evening I saw two young girls messing about in the middle of
the road, looking at some thing. They spotted a car coming and ran
to the path quickly.
It was a dear little frog, the girls wouldn't dare pick it up & didn't
have time to.
Quick as a flash, I grabbed it & legged it to safety.
The girls must of thought I was nuts.

I have to say the men from North (of Peterborough LOL) who have lodged here whilst not being arsitocrats have been the tidiest and most intelligent guys; very reliable, sociable, respectful people ! Yorkshire men..lusty hill walkers, swallowed a history book, growers of roses and leeks... and every dog's companion..whilst a real Geordie man will put a smile on your face for life and work his rocks off till the day he dies! Princes come in many shapes and sizes..sounds like you found yours Harvey. Spangles used to annoy me because they sort of aspiring polo mint wihtout the hole..wasnt it great to erode them with your tongue and and feel that little hole appear ? :D

Wow, really Dave. I love toads, last one I saw was a couple of years ago. I wondered where they had all gone.

When we were little we had a big fat toad living under a drain cover in our garden. My brother was terrified of it, so my Dad put it in a bucket and cycled to Milton with it (a couple of miles away)

Two days later it was back...poor thing. Probly with blisters! But amazing how critters can do that!

I'm always rescuing frogs from the playground at this time of year. Theyre making their way back to the school pond, but if their timing is wrong and they get caught out at playtime, it cant be fun for them. I give little lectures about what to do, and send a child to wet a paper towel so I dont hurt it when I pick it up.
Those kids think I'm a strange one.

Perhaps these are Frogs :dunno: after rain they creep about the yard and kennels and are a long way from a pond, they come in various sizes too.

Not only them but there are lizard type critters about with them :dunno:

I would have said that was a toad, but I don't really know - it could be a (very) large frog. Maybe the lizard like creatures with them are newts. Don't you have a river not that far away? :dunno:

'Poor Colin' thinks a toad. Another clue apparently is toads tend to walk wheras frogs tend to leap. (Leap frog :ph43r: )

I'd agree maybe newts- we get them in our pond.

The river that floods runs parallel to your front doesn't it? Toads tend to live on land in damp warm places.....the sun is out and in front of the river is damp....

I think yours looks more like a big frog Dave, though if I saw one for real I could definitely tell.
If a dog gets one they will react dramatically as toads let out a foul tasking liquid if threatened.
Frogs.......they scream like babies. :(

A good frog or toad population is indicative of very little pollution in the area.

The lizards will be newts. Theyre all on their way back to where they started life, in order to breed.
